He said grimoire wise though, a lot of the grimoire talks how hunters are lone wolves, but who's to say the couldn't pull together for a fight?

Lore wise, most hunters join clans, packs, guilds, etc. Then they go out on their own to prove themselves to their new family that they are worth keeping around. Most hunters dont stay as lone wolves. They just do that to prove how badass they are.
