Ok everyone. Now that we've played Division for a few weeks it's time we agreed on something.
It sucks.
Destiny is and will always be far superior to The Division for so many reasons. I'm not going to review the games here. Just the facts.
Destiny is better. By a lot.
Oh man, this thread is already interesting and it's been like 30 minutes. I love you all.
For those who are craving real facts, read this.
It took me a year and a half to become bored with Destiny and that's only because Bungie can't seem to competently manage their game. Hopefully that changes. It took me 2.5 weeks to become bored with the Division. 2.5 weeks and I'm level 30/52, have all high end 31 stuff, have completed challenge story every day... I'm bored. Fact.

I had the fortune of recently become friends on Xbox with a developer for the game who admitted Ubisoft wanted it to be their destiny. Also no zombies as it wasn't "Clancy" material. I'm really bored with the game though I'm at 65 dz rank and my buddy is at 84, I only play with friends because our group is near invincible. 3 of us can down rogues solo. Also if you want to blaze through enemies High end vector 45 acp and custom M44. I'm sitting at 195k and 213k dps respectively. You also don't need high stamina if you have the right abilities and talents equipped.

1 ReplyAfter reading this... I still haven't seen any reasoning behind why it supposedly sucks.
-
Destiny did not come the with the vog. The division's state now is like destiny at launch exept for the face that destiny had much less content. When the two free incisions get released you will be back
-
I got bored of Destiny after 1,500 hrs. Bored of Division after only 100 hrs. BF4, have not gotten bored of even after 2.5 years of play.
-
Still enjoying it cause I'm still only level 24. I'll probably get bored as I play more. But in the end I really don't care, dark souls 3 will consume my life in 2 weeks
-
Both are average
-
Fortunately what you stated is just your opinion.
-
It's almost like you're in the "Forever 29" phase of The Division.
-
destiny is addictive, and an ok game. it's not great. the same old shitty grind, so idk how the division is worse.
-
It's really too different of a game for comparison, IMO. What Division does it does well. What Destiny does it does well. Both games have some flaws, but, Massive has been outclassing Bungie in terms of communication and road maps for the game. Bungie goes dark for months at a time, everything is such a damned secret. The only thing Bungie needs to learn from Division is communication.
-
I knew it would be another Destiny so that's why I skipped it.
-
So your mad that your board thats your fault that you rushed the game

Edited by Bluefoxx3: 3/29/2016 8:06:56 AMYou don't speak for me when you say that "it's time we agreed on something, it sucks". Cause I don't agree with you that it sucks, plus I've been taking my time with it and still have alot more to do before the map is cleared and I'm Agent lvl 30, but only DZ lvl 22, but I've been crafting much better gear than whatever DZ drops. Then again I prefer 3rd person games over 1st person ones since too many 1st persons feel too much like CoD and CoD is just running the genre into the ground.

6 RepliesI think that's the issue. The gunplay in Destiny is, I would hazard the guess, better in most everyone's eyes. Meaning that the Division doesn't have anything to it aside from its leveling and gear (which is apparently better). But that's going by quickly obviously. Yes, no, maybe? Comments appreciated.

2 RepliesJust because destiny kept you interested for so long doesn't make it a better game you might just have an addictive personality I would avoid drugs if I were you.
-
Farmed he dt for an hour today and got one, I'm out until they fix it (make it a lot more abundant or obtainable through dailies or challenge or add DZ daily missions)
-
You seem to be leaving out the fact that everyone have different opinions of games. A good amount of people probably played destiny for a week and were bored. By your logic destiny also sucks. And just because you played a game for two weeks and are now bored by no means makes the game shitty? Those two weeks could've been the most fun you've had in a long time playing a video game. Just cause one game doesn't have as much replay value doesn't make it a bad game. It comes down to wether or not you enjoyed the time you spent in the said game. Just my two cents.

Too much bugs and boring boss battles ruined this game

1 Replythe division is just getting started.

50 RepliesThis isn't new to me, in fact much of why I didn't buy it, only tried it was the fact of the beta and a friend. Let me first say this, I have not played destiny in a fair while, maybe February. I am I think 308-310 basically able to earn junk just going into kings fall hard. Was the taken King rich in content at launch and perfect? No but it had replayaity. Loot was still flawed though I still believe that class gear and moldering shards and ghost shells should be removed from boss drops and shoved into other side chests in the raid. So in this time, when I had destiny fatigue, no interest in pvp, I switched to other games, played xcom 2, jumped into xenoblade chronicles x (if you want a game with too much content beyond fallout 4 and the witcher play this gem) and continued playing smash 4 and halo 5. Yet then came the division. So what did it offer? At first glance it seemed creative, but after that it just went downhill. The only thing that made the division fun, was the weapon customization and coop tactics. But that all died down fast, very fast. And when I see such conflicting reports game outlets like ign and gamespot plastering GOTY bs then after the review showing lower ratings, sorry but these are supposed to be professionals with an educated opinion? You would think they would aware of game design flaws and paradoxes by now. Anyways for the good the division does, there is so much worse and wrong. 1. No enemy varity. This is perhaps one of the worst things to point out. In all game genres especially anything rpg or rpg ish, you need enemy diversity. Part of the problem of realism games is no variation. This is why often shooters like halo, half life, team fortress 2 and yes destiny get away with enjoyable enemies because they can escape into fiction. Yet even then, far cry 3 and 4 even managed to have enemy varity with humans and animals. All you have here is the general sacvvers, enemy soldiers, and oh yeah flame throwers but anyone who played gears of war or any shooter knows that you can blow up the tank. Oh but don't forget the best the division has is a helicopter. 2. Bullet sponges as grunts... It's one thing if enemies are thicker due to more players such as borderlands or halo reach, this makes sense. But just even in single player, these guys are just too thick, seriously this is absurd. Even dark souls bosses go down faster when you are at a weak level. Other shooters adjust the damage given and taken the right way. Be it halo and it's skulls, the level zones in any borderlands, yes even destiny squishes this and makes it so in most cases, your enemies will be felled on generally an average time when your level is about even with theirs. Aka it will always seem like a rifle will down a foe in 5 or so shots. But the division God, and entire clip just for a simple enemy? I can understand needing a clip and a half for something big in destiny like a hydra or ogre. For halo, something meaty like a hunter will endure as it must, but God dammit seriously? This isn't even like xenoblades meaty enemies, in that game enemies come in 5 sizes from the smallest being like raccoon sized to the largest being taller than mountains. Fighting on foot against large guys usually spells disaster and makes them take less damage. In that game you get an exo suit to improve your power and let you fight these things. That's a game design that makes sense beyond just dependent on level. But these enemies, again no matter the level no enemy will just go down as they should. 3. Tunnel vision. Yes there is stuff littered around the city but there is no other environment. It's just one street after another bringing back those memories of hall crawling in shooters that kinda turned the genere to negative aspects until we say got the open environments of halo or the puzzle designs of half life to mix things up. But there is nothing here. It's just street after street of junk and thenoccasional mob. 4. The dark zone is only fun for a time. Yes the first time doing the dark zone you will have fun, but it quickly dies down. Even halo 5s firefight is a better player vs player vs environment zone. The thing is, it's really just a glorified pve area with damage from players enabled. But it quickly dies down because of the next reasons. Forget the best gear, the effort for it is just worthless. 5. Going rogue is pointless, no there is no point to it. Even after watching angry joes recent review it just falls apart. You can die and lose 3 or so hours worth of pve enemies and your reward for surviving as a rogue is merely 5% of this. Don't believe me go watch it. Even gta5 made running away with a bounty more fun. It was enjoyable there to try and flee into the high skies or underwater or get into the sewers, even to mess with people. 6. The dark zone isn't even pvp it's just small bars optional skirmishes. You see the difference here? Destiny has a dedicated pvp that is playable just because. But the division doesn't even have a purpose to it. No one is going to risk going rogue when they learn the effort isn't worth it. The tension is erased and people will just cooperate. Because face it, it there was no dark zone or if there was dedicated pvp then it would be another generic run or the mill 3rd person shooter with nothing special. 7. No character uniqueness or specialization. Destiny at least gives you a choice of 3 classes and 9 subclasses currently, each with given appeal to style and being meld able. Each has a distinct style in play and looks. The division well you don't get any of that just simple clothes with simple looks. Even earning a military plate armor or cap would have been nice. Ubisoft had a lot of styles to toy with in this setting, civilian clothes, law enforcement, scavenger, gang/criminal, military, scientists, etc so many themes yet they just give you the style of some overrating clothing brand. 8. The story is even worse and more empty than destiny. Even dying light didn't go this bad. This story is the truth of forgetable. No one cares. Before j get to 9 I have to say, dying light was one of the most pointless games in design I have played just due to so much generic bland and predictable empty aspects, but the division managed to take it even further. The worst aspect of this all is: 9. The endgame is utterly pointless besides the fact of trying to say you have too gear. Hold up a moment before going to rant on destiny, we at least have options, regardless of the rewards. If you love pve you can raid, love pvp you have trails and iron banner when available. The rng loot system while flawed, gives you options and means to try other junk in the meantime. Even then just pure pvp causal or pro still exists, even if you don't care for max light level you can just hop on and go for it to have fun. The division, it doesn't do this. This is the same major problem with mgs5 forward operating bases, by the time you max out your mother and free forward operating base, there is honestly no point in doing it, even if others raid and steal from you, you can replace this stuff easily within an hour, be it raid someone else or just yoink other soldiers in single player. Hell you can find s ranks commonly later on The division there is just no point. It has a nice weapon system and coop tactics but is just so overly generic and empty inside, there is no lasting appeal not reason to play. Destiny gave you options try another class or just settle on a light level for basic pvp, it's all good and doesn't impact the enjoyment. But the difference is, you can play destiny just because there are always people to encounter and play, the division it's so empty even the dark zone is becoming more of just a second pve zone. Seriously there is no point in going rogue and your dark zone rewards just feel not worth the effort, hell most of use raided or played trails in the taken King just to upgrade weapons and armor we loved. It's just empty, it's an empty mess and just proof of some games being hallowed over advertised hype fears. Destiny was part of this trend, but there at least exists content you can choose to keep doing with others. Pvp dedicated that is, is self sustaining. Halo 5 was odd at launch but 343 kept and continues to put out content and balance. The division, it's just so empty and so pointless, I wish a zombie would pop out and mix things up. Hell even the limited pvp in the division is just unbalanced, one person with higher gear can outclass 4 others (again watch angry joes review) regardless. It's a broken mess either way. It was something that made me glad I didn't buy this game. After the beta and trying it with my friend who did buy it, it's just one of the most empty games I ever saw. My friend stopped playing it after a week and a half and well guess what he hopped back to? Yep destiny pvp. Destiny has its problems but there is such a thing as flawed slightly and flawed immensely because the difference in content and practice. And for all the flak destiny gets take a big step back, look at the utter hypocrisy of the media outlets and fan complaints and look at these things long term, is destiny worse because people point out the lack of content or the division worse because it's praised for doing what destiny didn't despite being even more shallow? The division it's one of the most pointless games out there. And anyone complaining about destiny take a good damned look in the mirror before talking about varity, longevity, and dynamics.

Edited by puppyk1sses: 3/29/2016 1:35:00 PMI haven't played Destiny since last year. If you think for one second that a few reskinned PVE tidbits and a new carrot to chase (that IMO, is not worth chasing) is going to pull me away from Division... Well, you would be wrong. I used to be addicted to Destiny, I will admit it. But once I stepped away, it's clear to me that it's not a good game, just an addictive one. I like The Division better, and a lot of other games better as well.
-
So many people here are afraid to admit that Destiny is capable of doing something right :P What do you guys think will happen? If you admit the game does certain things well, you'll lose your arms and legs? Jesus

There is literally NO room for making a unique build that hardly anybody else uses in destiny. In the division there is so much room to try something new. There is a very diverse use of weapons (once you actually hit dz 50, up until then everybody uses the vector because it is above average and widely available) I can run glass canon, I can run tank (not the pathetic excuse of a tank that is the Titan) and most of all
healing/support is both a real and viable option
2 RepliesEdited by A Syrian Refugee: 3/28/2016 12:44:33 AMThats solely based on the fact Destiny is more additcing which isnt a good thing nessecarily. Literally its solely based on addicition. Theres no way people can still be enjoying running the same few strikes and one raid. NO WAY. They are just chasing loot like a junkie chases heroin. They dangle that carrot over your head non stop where as the Division allows you to gain the best gear more easily. Which is funny because you destcles complain about Bungies RNG yet the Division made it easier to get gear and hyou say thats a bad thing Bottom line this new gen of gamers cannot be pleased. Its sad
