Hopped on tonight after the kids went to bed. First Clash match (the DAILY Crucible): dropped into a 3 vs. 5 match down 100 to 850. Next, fresh match: 4 vs. 5. Next: full teams but 4 red bars.
No friends on. Tower is a ghost town.
And how is this game not dying? Cause it feels an awful lot like it's on life support.
Sad thing is, we've given you so much god damned -blam!-ing feedback that could have retained MILLIONS of players, and you didn't listen. It would have cost you very little to update VoG, CE, and PoE. But no. Just kept nickel-n-diming us until this: the daily Crucible can't even fill the lobby.
Not gonna lie, kinda makes me feel like a -blam!-ing schmuck for even giving a shit all this time.
Edit: For the predictable trolls that showed up: Bravo! I gave you an easy target with this post, and you took your shots. Big of you. (That people like you don't like people like me tells me that people like me are doing something right.)
Edit 2: Fair number of people feeling the same way. If any of you are on the Xbone, feel free to add me. We can band together in solidarity (and the need for running mates ;))
Edit 3: A few people have suggested that Bungie shut down some servers in an effort to consolidate lobbies and ensure lobby population. I agree that this needs to happen. However, I predict that they will do this as quietly as possible, as the action would be the first "admission" that player numbers have dwindled.

The main thing I've noticed that not as many people are playing is how long it takes to find a crucible match lately. Play an entire clash royale match before I get put into control.

5 RepliesI think it's the PVP players that ruined Destiny. They are constantly crying about the guns. Bungie has already nerfed all the good guns because PVP players cry when they lose the match. They blame it on the guns like Ghallahorn, Suros Regime, Mida Multi Tool, just to name a few. So Bungie nerfs the guns for PVP leaving PVE players to with pretty much nothing. Newsflash PVP players, it's not the guns that suck. IT'S YOU. It's your job to get good at the game. It's not the games job to hand you the win. That's just one of the problems though. The lack of content, rehashing old guns for year two, lazy plots for DLC's. Bungie promised us quality content on a regular basis. So far all we got is # expansions that barely "expand" on anything of worth. I for one don't want rehashed guns like the Suros Regime. Just make a new gun so we can feel like we're moving forward. The main problem is Bungie just lies. They don't have any plans besides what they think. Even when they do listen to the community, they just screw it up. I really hope they can address most of these issues in Destiny 2. Until then Destiny is on the ropes.

2 Replies6 pages of friends....at least 2 and a half were always in Destiny. The other day it averaged 3 and was low as 1 online. Y'all should announce something. Even what you are working on. I don't care if it isn't done, or if you're not 100% sure it's making it to the game. The desire to login is just gone now and you have all the systems in place to make it better. You just choose not to do it.

1 ReplyYeah I've quit destiny until they come out with real, new content. Having way more fun on the division.
-
1 ReplyI don't think any of that content coming out is "New" pretty sure it's been here, they're just now releasing it, and actin like they've worked so hard.. when all they're doing is working on Destiny 2. Still. Seeya in the Darkzone, Or look for my Frames. Peace

2 RepliesEdited by Nebutronical: 3/16/2016 4:57:52 PMIt's a domino effect. As one player leaves, another 2 drop out. I came on last night, couldn't find a raid team. That was the only activity I wanted to play so I logged off and bought The Division. They only have themselves to blame, but I agree you feel foolish having spent so much time on a game, then all of a sudden it dries up into nothing.

2 RepliesEdited by Puppet Master: 3/17/2016 12:37:52 PMYour ideas and concepts are great. Many including myself feel the same way. However, you feeling like a schmuck might be real to a point. I see so many people on here write these long winded posting going into great depth about every little last detail and stats in an attempt to try and reach someones eye to finally be that one post to make the difference. And you being an actual adult, I would have thought you knew that your postings and everyone else's postings that go to the extent you go to, will never make a difference. Ever. Bungie is a corp that also answers to another corp. No body their that can make the actual changes gives a f uck what Joe blow from the Alamo writes on a forum. I do give you and others credit for sticking to it even though the end all be all will always be the same. But, it might be time to realize it truly falls on blind eyes. I play the game for fun and also go on the forums, most of the time to just be devil's advocate or to pass time at work by making the puppets dance. But the truth is this game is amazing and filled with so much space magic that you can't help but play it. And like yourself, I have watched it time and time again be slowly nerf'ed and destroyed and feel the same as how to fix it. It just sucks that all the postings and great ideas are only getting the attention of the wrong people.

9 RepliesEdited by ROCKMANX612: 3/17/2016 6:22:37 AMEveryone is on the division, I'm about to get that game end of this week, destiny is just boring now. Most of my friends who I would have played with after work are all on that game. Even the forums on here are boring, it's just nerf this, nerf that, bungie not doing a damn thing about lag and cheaters still, and ppl saying this gun is op when it's just simply overused.

Damagingmoth47 Currently on spring break, once I get back we need to run VoG, looks like year on armor is coming back (weekly update, they were wearing PoE armor with what looks like a taken shader)

3 RepliesEdited by eviltedi: 3/17/2016 10:50:34 AMThere are also those like me who never got TTK because of that outrageous price tag of £39.99. That was always going to split the fanbase, especially the digital buyers, I paid £85 for the game and season pass, they wanted half of that again for TTK alone lol. Then we see TTK disc in shop for £45 with ALL content ? The content has to justify the price. The price for TTK DLC was and is still too high, why would I spend £39.99 on one DLC ?

1 ReplyTried to play freelance 3v3 took 15 min to find a match.

No friends on. Tower is a ghost town.
Why are we not being transferred to more populated towers so that I may have a chance to feel like this game is still alive and vibrant? Why, when I go to CoO, am I sent to a server devoid of fellow guardians so that I may actually have a chance to complete a Tier 2 or 3 Rune? Why when I go to Patrol do I rarely see other guardians so that I may actually get to finish slaying Taken Champions, Ultras, and High Value Targets? How hard would it be to either shut down some servers or modify the zoning from one space to another to ensure population?

3 RepliesOnly thing this game hasnt had yet is its funeral ...bungie must be in charge of its arrangements & its in line with all the actual fixes the game needs....still..from yr1... Then made worse w each update. Next they'll sell the game only the maps will b upside down instead of replaying them backwards & sideways...

3 RepliesI'm with ya that they have given the community very little for a lot of us to continue to have any sort of faith moving forward. I personally don't understand why it's so difficult to do little patches here and there to address things as they come up rather than just letting it sit for months on end till people are just fully fed up with it.

Not gonna lie, kinda makes me feel like a -blam!-ing schmuck for even giving a shit all this time.
My thoughts, exactly. It changed the way I look at games, ultimately, to the point where I might never play big-scale games of ANY kind, anymore.

2 RepliesI noticed something yesterday while running with a group of friends who all live in Texas. Every single lobby we went into was full of foreigners. I started messaging people after games to find out where they were from. I got Austria, France, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, etc. Why are we playing against so many folks from other countries? The latency is insane!
-
6 RepliesI got a survey in an email yesterday asking why I haven't logged on to Destiny in a while... Some of the check box options point to a vague understanding on their part with options like "I don't like PVP, there's not enough content" and "I don't like recent changes". In my additional comments, I said everything they need to know is on the forums..
-
5 RepliesDon't even bother stressing yourself about it. I know we all have cared about it in the past. I still sort of do and hope they do something. If they do, then I'll consider playing again. Otherwise, screw them. The Division is going to keep me going for a while so I won't really be bothered if Bungie doesn't do anything about the pathetic state of this game.
-
3 RepliesLike the dude below said... "I got my money's worth but they won't be getting my monies anymore." Forget the staples of MMORPGs. Or patterns/trends in the gaming industry... Any organization that behaves the way Bungie did the last 6 to 9 months deserves to die a painfully slow death. Especially when they had such a promising product / addictive game. And even the dumbest and blindest of fanboys now knows it will happen. Went from 4+ hours a day to almost zero a week in the space of 2 or 3 weeks. Bravo Bungie. Bra--blam!-ing-vo. Serves you right for staying the course and thinking that you know what is / was best for "your" game
-
7 RepliesI got my monies worth. That being said, they won't be getting my money anymore. There has been intentional sabotage to this game by its developers. By not fixing the things that need to be fixed and fixing things that don't need to be. Implementing things into the game and then watching the world burn because it clearly doesn't work. Yet, you try to force the issue and say you are fine tuning it. Admit it, you made a glaring mistake. The thing to do now is fix this ASAP! You made this mistake in halo 2. Openly admitted that it was a problem and changed your outlook and application in halo 3. How can you make the same mistake again? You knew it would be a major issue using p2p, yet you did it anyways. The state of this game? It's in a state of decay.
