To everyone who says Warlocks are OP.

So I hit rank 5 on my Titan and Hunter and was debating what class to play on my Lock. Played a bit on Voidwalker and then decided to see what the Firebolt+Viking funeral is like on the other side. I've already posted my thoughts on facing it and it's about the least OP class in the game in my opinion, but firsthand maybe I'd be wowed. It pretty much -blam!-ing sucks. First off, I wish I had let the video go a little longer, but I can tell you they never burned. The initial hit did like 65 damage (so OP) and with Firebolt+Viking Funeral+Touch of Flame, it caused no burn. And it happens every match. Probably half of damage causing grenades don't cause burn. What worse, I have two melee charges, but half my melee hits cause no burn either. Want a third -blam!- you for Sunsingers? They apparently can't complete the "get ability kills" bounty. Needle is stuck and won't move up. All you -blam!-ing crybabies who piss and moan about other class... Go -blam!-ing play them. Everything is OP and everything sucks. It just depends who's using the controller. Also, consider this as you dream of some -blam!-ing utopia where we all do equal damage with equal TTK and finish with even k/d's every pathetic, boring -blam!-ing match. [b]Some weapons and some classes suit maps and game types better than others.[/b] So [i]oh my -blam!-ing God[/i] Sunsingers excel at Trials! They -blam!-ing are weak as shit literally everywhere else. Tell me you fear a self-rezzing Warlock in Iron Banner or normal PvP and I'll find you a case of Pampers and a binky, because you know they're trash. Strikers and Voidwalkers. FoH and Nova Bomb are the shit in Control. Trying to get multikills in Clash? Whole different ballgame. Scouts tear the hell out of Widow's Court. The Grifter? Not so much. It doesn't mean you don't play what you like, it just means you need to know [i]your[/i] class, [i]your[/i] weapons and where they're strongest on any map and game type. Lightning Grenades are literally the easiest grenade to not get killed by in the game. I'm willing to bet I've died to less than 20 since launch. You get hit, you move 4 feet to its side. I have 2500 Lightning Grenade kills, not because they're OP. I've got them because people don't [b]think[/b] or [b]react[/b]. I take advantage of my surroundings and my opponents weaknesses, because that's how you're supposed to play the game. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. As long as someone isn't unhittable (lag) or shit doesn't work (grenades not igniting, hit detection is off), you tip your cap. I suggest every one of you crying about DoTs go play a Lock in Iron Banner and show me your endless kills and victories. You won't, because you can't.

  • Warlocks aren't even overpowered i play as one and its easy to counter everything but touch of flame viking funeral grenades. The ppl who say they are too op go look at the year one firebolt and year one arc grenades those are op.

    • I was a warlock main for all of year one. And I can tell you that it used to be awesome in 6v6 back when you wore praxic fire and could spam 11-13 firebolts. Its a former shell of what it used to be. Also if you die after you throw it, it will just explode and not burn. As far as trials goes, all of my lighthouse visits were when i was on a warlock mostly. Factor I only went a few times because I got lucky with the guns I wanted . No one can deny the damage output of the firebolts. The only thing that needs to be done is reduce the range. I DO NOT want them to destroy it like arcbolt.

        That's because you died. The grenades detonate like a frag if you die before it hits someone, and it won't burn

      • The only thing I have a problem with coming from Warlock's are the BBQ nades (Firebolt, Viking funeral, touch of flame). Reasoning: Firebolt grenades do more than a grenade probably should. •It causes initial 122 damage, the most amount of damage for grenades like it. •It has a large blast radius, second to only the Lightning grenade. •With the BBQ effect, it causes significant damage over time that will result in a kill if the victim is damaged at all. •Because of the beforementioned effect, you can track the victim for the duration of the grenade. •This effect not only burns them [i]and[/i] tracks them [b]but[/b] it stops their shield from regenerating; stopping them from reengaging in combat or even defend themselves of the warlock chooses to push. •This grenade last for 14 total seconds. This is a long time in terms of PvP play, especially for a grenade that allows you to track it's victim, burns them, stops their shields from regenerating [u]and[/u] cause a significant amount of damage. [i]If[/i] our goal is balance in the crucible, then it's clear that these grenades need to be taken down a notch. [quote]Why are you just now complaining about these grenades? [quote]No more nerfing weapons or abilities![/quote] If you call yourself a PvP player and/or want what's the best for the game, this is probably the most [b]ignorant[/b] statement you can make. The reasonable guardian realizes that buffs and nerfs are all part of balancing the crucible in order to make a fair and fun atmosphere. To [i]"never nerf"[/i] would be impossible in this endeavor unless you want CoD Time to Kill. As for PvE players making this claim, I can only tell you to ask Bungie to separate the nerfs. The Crucible [i]needs[/i] this change and from a Utilitarian standpoint, balance in the crucible is much more important than keeping a grenade powerful if the nerfs cannot be separated.

            • Warlocks or more op than any other class. reason, warlock players got pissed that bungie gave the Titan a hammer to give them more competition and now the hammer is the most unused super out there because it got docked to the extent of extinction. All because warlocks couldn't kill him faster. F the warlocks

              • I play as one and I will say stormtanse is op pop it at the right time easy 7 kills and no body can do anything about it pop it at the wrong time and you will be dead void walker is so rubbish I hardly use it anymore mainly cuase of how bad the bombs are solar the dot is a bit high and I love the fact that no one can out melee me on any class. (Unless they are blade dancer ing)

                Not saying the class is OP, but why is it that this class now is used by nearly everyone who runs trials? I personally don't think the fire bolt grenade is OP damage wise, but I do think it's range needs to be adjusted. I main a titan and would love to have a tracking grenade like the other 2 classes have. Or a grenade that can reach out and grab an enemy within its range.

                    Thank you. I can't tell you how much i've been trying to argue this. I wouldn't mind the firebolts being patches as it is questionable in 3v3, put people complaining just to wipe out warlocks is a little ridiculous, saw a post the other day wanting to nerf voidwalker of all things. Which is arguably the weakest subclass in the game.

                            Ah, another lost sols video, filled with rigged stats that purposely make him weaker so he can try to "prove" nothing's op. Nothing's op... But I can only handle so many staple guns before enough is enough.

                          • Sunsinger is aweful in 6v6 but it's kind of strong in 3v3. Viking funeral+ touch of flame are pretty strong in trials, but smart players know how to get people to throw their forebolts prematurely. To be honest with you the hunter is the most dominate character right now. The smoke grenade is super strong and the bladedancers ability to go invisible and be sneaky is also very strong in 3v3. The biggest problem concerning PvP right now is snipers. I hate nerfs, but snipers totaled around 80% of the total kills for secondaries on trials this weekend. That's kind of ridiculous.

                            • So you don't think that something that both eliminate having fun and competing in a way that is both enjoyable and interesting isn't OP? Something that not only gets annoying going up against because it's something that waste time and makes you in a gapers vulnerable position from enemy targets for many seconds isn't OP? Your saying that everything, even voidwalker which has had a nerf to its nova bomb blast radius and is far less annoying and requires moe skill to use at a very skilled level, is more OP then something that gives you shields in with almost any ability you use and burns mostly everyone down to a one shot and makes trials clutches all the more easier to do when you get downed... Is the worst class in the game? Ok listen, you probably new to this state of destiny but yeah we're in the shit. How come you come onto a forum and say it's not OP while the rest of us have to deal with that annoying ticking that says "hey man what's happening?... O your dead bitch hahaha" that's what that ticking says when you have been hit by a grenade and shot by a MIDA and walk around for 7 seconds before dying. Listen, I don't care how lucky you are not having to deal with the shit I've had to deal with all week long but in all honesty, this bullshit your stating is just so -blam!-ing stupid because everyone else says its OP. We're talking about this class being the THORN of year 1 and your going to try and tell everyone it's the worst class?

                            • I ran sunsinger yesterday using radiant skin, with the fusion grenade setup. Heart of praxis fire for when I pop. It was effective, but not nearly as destructive as Nova, blade dancer, stormtrance or fist. It was more like golden gun, I got 2 to 3 kills most times, throwing grenades and melee. I took some good damage and managed to survive long enough to kill those trying to kill me. Even HoS when timed well will out perform this super. And as someone else pointed out, no one really ran in panic from me, sunsingers don't create that oh shit moment in crucible that other supers create.
