Well, considering I'll have nothing but sweaty PvP, 0 True "Friends" to do the content with, and zero reasons to trust in the developer... And [i]that[/i] being the general opinion other fanboys... I don't think he's bluffing. Though most people do give into the temptation. Most games haven't been trying to compete with Destiny, it makes finding an alternative hard. But after getting fleeced, screwed and mistreated enough, people will eventually stop giving a damn to even bother trying to like it.
