I need a good Fusion Rifle. Any suggestions?
So lately, I've been using 1000 Yard Stare in the Crucible and I've grown bored of it. I need something like my old Year 1 Split Shifter Pro, God bless its soul. Anyone got a good suggestion for me?
Before we kick this off, I want to say 3 things:
1. I absolutely [i]love[/i] fast charging Fusions.
2. I absolutely [i]despise[/i] having to pre-charge in every gunfight I get into (guess that rules out Hitchhiker).
3. This is not a joke post. Please don't reply anything along the lines of "A good Fusion Rifle? What's that?" and/or a Shotgun/Sniper/Sidearm.
Go ahead. Suggest away.
EDIT: 100 replies in, and I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm not the only one who likes Fusion Rifles. I'm seeing a lot of repeats that I'll definitely try out. Keep suggesting, please.

-Split Shifter Pro (my #1 pick if I get it, random Crucible drop [pls RNGesus])

-Telesto (Random Exotic drop)
-Plan C (Random Exotic drop, aka The Panic Button)
-Thesan FR4 (Omolon Armsday weapon)
-Ashraven's Flight (Iron Banner)
I will update this list as more Fusions get recognition or common consensus.

Thesan, Ashraven's, Tolesto, Plan C and Susanno. My all time fav is the slow charging Foil that wrecks people from across a room.

Long Far Gone is pretty good. I prefer the high impact low charge rates myself. Thesan is a beast. Also, Plan C is quite nasty.

Telesto is loads of fun in PVE & PVP. I highly recommend it. It's one of the few void exotics as well.

The Vortex. Either that one or the Vacancy at the FWC vendor has a high charge, mag size and upgrade able charge speed.

11 RepliesAim assist comes into play [b][i][u]ALOT[/u][/i][/b] for fusions. The fusion with the highest base aim assist is The Vortex at 79 AA. If you can roll one with Braced Frame or Hand Laid Stock, then that will be one of the best ones you can get.

Honestly bro they are all good with the right roll and decent aim and quickscoping at the last second. I rotate around with splitshifter,thessan,elevating vision, the vacancy,hitchhiker,ashravens flight,peruns fire, final rest II, (can't get those last 2 anymore) With braced frame and hotswap/snapshot and practice you can make any fusion rifle work, i get 5+ fusion rifle kills per game lately, they're all I ever use

well, the BEST fusion rifle right now is the Thesan fr4. but you said you wanted a faster charge rate. so my suggestion for you is the Panta Rhei. Panta Rhei has a lower impact than the Thesan, but not by a lot, 8 if I recall. and range is only 2 less. but it has 6 higher charge rate. with accelerated coils this can be bumped up to 11 higher, making it not much slower than the split shifter pro, but still have a decent amount more impact. it also has a higher base stability and higher base range, so your bolts will get to your target faster and be more likely to be tighter grouped. so 1 shot potential is better. so while the splt shifter pro does have a faster charge rate and faster reload it would appear to come at the cost of the other stats that make a fusion rifle good right now. as for perk suggestions: first slot hipfire. this perk is great because if you charge before you ADS you still get the accuracy bonus. so again, better grouping. spray and play, although fusion rifles generally reload decently fast, it is always good to reload faster. :) second slot. accelerated coils. braced frame. hand-laid stock. injection mold. snapshot and single point sling are also good third slot. hot swap. replenish. eye of the storm. life support. however, if you can get used to the slower charge rate then the Thesan FR4 is a monster. for a good roll, look at my hunter. regardless, I hope you find a fusion rifle that you like and have fun with!!! :)

Rifled barrel really increases effective range. I dig mine. Vex Mythoclast definately before they nerfed it, then buffed it, then made it insignificant again, then teased you with upgrading it with House of wolves then dropping it to 170 along with the Jellyhorn. Yup. And if you like antiques the "Light Beware" with accelerated coils was beast.

My theory is that I need a primary with mid to long range So suros dis - amazing stability and range Having a sniper is another long range - what do I do with close quarters combat? Shotguns require really close range So fusion rifles - with good range and charge Plan C Takes some getting used to and doesn't always work because of the charge time But best combination so far Side arms - yeah I suppose, but not enough impact
