I actually enjoyed Iron Banner being Rift.
It was different and added a little extra intensity. Slamming that clutch spark or preventing that last minute dunk was exciting. It was fun. It was different and much flashier. I would not object to more Iron Banner being rift
It offered overtime which was definitely an awesome addition to an event that had never had any sort of overtime.
Now. A major issues. (Besides lag) look I get the meta has changed to scout rifles. Over ~19 percent of all the kills were with scout rifles. ~14 percent of that was Mida. Mida was and is a disease. The reason it is such a problem for Power based playlist is that it balances them out. Mida is a 4 shot across a very broad light level. Even if players are 8 to 10 light below you (assuming they are all above 300) it requires 4 shots to kill. That is not how Iron Banner is supposed to be played. This one weapon allows lower light guardians an equal playing field in regards to primary battles. That defeats power based game modes. That is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Second. Mida' s hit detection is completely broken. It is one of the few weapons that actually has great hit detection. It's so good that if you continuously fire even after your enemy is behind cover it still damages them. I got to the point where even if my enemy was out of sight I would keep firing and more often then not it would still kill them. The gun essential has the best armor piercing rounds in the game. I have died and killed enemies that were clearly behind cover. This is not only because of hit detection but aim assist. The gun tracks so well it literally goes through walls. This is a major issue. Just about everyone complains about it.
Third. 1000 yard stare. I defended this gun. But, I was wrong. I have no problem admitting that I clearly was blinded by the cheese this gun really is. I stated before it doesn't grant headshots. While this is true it can also be very false. I have several clips where I clearly was behind cover when I fired but my quick pop in and out was so fast that I actually fired and hit the wall, yet it granted the headshot. I could clearly see the bullet mark on the wall. (No I do not have armor piercing rounds. I was using Rifled Barrel. ) I noticed this happening more and more. Yes, lag can have a huge effect on what really happened. But I know and saw the bullet marks on walls and rocks. This gun is the Mida of sniper rifles. It is used in excess.
Fourth. This Isn't A major problem. But the map selection for Rift is very limited due to most maps being small. But it would be nice to see a few more maps being added to rift. I know it doesn't seem big but Twilight Gap can be a very big map. Sky side reaches pretty far back. It would need some thought out rift placement but could be a rifle map. New maps would also be awesome. Specially never before seen maps added to an Iron Banner. The "not knowing" could be an exciting attribute.

Played a control match yesterday after a week of IB Rift. BORING! PvP bores me but I had an objective that I could play and I had FUN and really looked forward to playing IB after work. I was a BIG rift hater before I really even played. My opinion, which doesn't matter, I'd like it back.

4 RepliesEdited by A KOOL POP TART: 2/4/2016 12:11:00 AMI only glimpsed at you post and immidiately ignored it after I saw the words "Major issue," "Mida," and 4 Shots to kill." Instead of metaphorically banging my head against the wall and telling you that you're wong, I'm just going to hijack this thread and ask the question: "What did you think about Iron Banner Rift?" Personally, I thought it was terrible. Not because of lag or whatever, but because everyone was acting like their balls were in a vice or something and winning was the only way to make the pain stop. The only time I had any fun during this IB was when I started playing with two of my friends and just ignoring the spark all together and going to the highest K/D, which wasn't hard since everyone was sniper scoping the living f*ck out of the spark spawn that you could literally run right up to the enemy team and slaughter them.

5 RepliesSome people are in to feet, watching people touch themselves, German poop porn, Justin Bieber, Justin Timerlake, SpongeBob, Pokemon, and loads of other things most people consider retarded, weird, or creepy. Rift falls into this category.
