Sunbreakers (logical nerf)

Since, patch 2.0 people have been in a rage about the sunbreaker subclass. The first response is to scream "NERF" on the forums and hope it so. However, no one offers an actual solution. My idea for the nerf/tweak would be a reasonable one. Move health to a level that would allow a one-shot headshot by high impact snipers like every other super that guardians can use while traveling (i.e. bladedance, golden gun, storm caller). This would allow for a more reasonable killing potential given that sunbreakers can regain health upon kills, if they have that perk selected. I hope this reaches moderators and most of the community. Give me your thoughts below. Edit 1: Thanks for all of the discussion! Edit 2: Pushing 500 responses. Thanks everyone. Edit 3: To those glancing at my stats and seeing my 300 Hunter: you are failing to see 'time spent within crucible.' Yes, I started TTK because I liked the look of the nightstalker. This does not mean that I don't have the ability to main all three classes. Edit 4: To those thinking that this would cripple the class: my purposed nerf would still leave it as one of the strongest supers in the game. Edit 5: over 600 responses! Thanks everyone!

    • Last year titan super was an up close attack this year they gained a distance attack Last year warlocks had distance attacks this year they have upclose attacks Last year hunters threw a tantrum or had distance attacks this year they still throw tantrums but gained a time out naughty step Give it a week or two and not only will we be used to these new subclasses but most will start work on other characters once you play as the other subclasses and understand them you will learn how to avoid them or shut them down Nerfing wont make you better it just makes the game worse

    • Sunbreakers dont need a nerf bad players need to shut up and adapt. This community complains about balance and now that titans the lowest tier have a competitive option we cry because our hunters and warlocks are dying the same way we kill them from far away with projectiles. Its obvious we have to respect titan players who stayed in pvp because they are now some of the better players clearly. And now that they have a real pvp class it is harder for hunters and warlocks but its because ur not good. Get better like the titans.

      • Why, pretty much nothing about Crucible is logically sound or made with comprehensive thought of how PVP should actually be. So Sunbreakers being OP in PVP oh well don't expect Bungie to actually do anything about it, and if they do and they don't nerf anything else then I'm calling complete and total BS.

        • For those following Destiny since before Day 1, each class is supposed to have a particular strength. Titans were supposed to be like a tank that hits hard. Sounds like they're getting back on track

        • Agreed. I can also see the instant health regen being taken away too. With so much armor, it is insanity that they can get all that health back for 1 kill with their nova bomb hammer. Ive thoroughly played all 3 classes and subclasses in pvp, and I can say sunbreaker is the most OP out of the rest. Will I abuse this broken class? Yes probably. Do not say it is a hard class to play. Increased armor, instant health regen, throw more hammers, and hammer tracking is absurd. My 3rd game yesterday I got a slayer with my first super cast. (All the people that say bad players complain, check my stats, probably better that yours for the amount of competitive games ive played.) Im not here to complain, Im here to say that players in the competitive community also acknowledge this super is broken.

          • I'm totally on board with you. I love to snipe and there isn't a super that I can not kill with one head shot from a high impact sniper until sunbreaker. And two shots from GG? That's crazy.

            • I think the explosion kill radius needs a sleight tweek, I've been killed through walls with it. Also you're right their health is a little high, every other super can be shot out of. It would still be amazing but the hammers would require a bit more aim than general map direction, and they'd actually still be amazing if you use the healing perk kinda like how bladedancers are.

                • I'm fairly certain they can already be shut down by snipers. I popped my super, turned a corner, and got one shotted by someone at the end of the hall.

                  • There should be two crucibles 1 for hunters and warlocks to battle out.... and another for just titans....because people seem to need titans to suck for them to be happy.. just let us titans battle one another in peace

                      • Can't we already one shot head shot with high impact snipers? Or do u want to be able to take out a Sun breaker with a single head shot? I don't get what your argument is.

                        • What does it matter so much that a particular class is better or stronger than another? Although Destiny is no true RPG, many class based games generally have a more powerful class. Does preference and skill not come into play? Everytime a nerf is put into place it messes with the balance of the game. Even though you're requesting an adjustment in pvp, it will inevitably affect pve.

                        • They need a nerf to their damage resistance. I have footage of me putting 7 headshots (my entire Pulse Rifle mag) into a Sunbreaker and he still turned around and killed me with a hammer from 60 feet away. It's insane and further proof that Bungie's multiplayer team is filled with idiots.

                            • "Rock needs a nerf, it's too overpowered. But paper is fine though, keep it the way it is. -- Scissors" People kept saying the Hunter as a whole was completely overpowered and everybody said to just deal with it. People said Sunsinger was too overpowered because of the self-resurrection, or the Warlock as a whole for the Ram. "Deal with it." If I see a Sunbreaker, I run the Hell away. Which the tactic I employed for literally everyone else I saw using a Super. It's a Super. It's MEANT to be overpowered. When I see someone with a Golden Gun, I know I'm about to die because he'll one-hit me no matter what I do. When I see a Bladedancer drop in front of me and start swinging his knife around, I'm boned unless I can pump him full of buckshot, and that's not likely. Once a Voidwalker goes airborne and pulls his arm back for the pitch, I am going to die, the variable is whether or not I take him with me. Strikers are hit and miss, sometimes I can stop them, sometimes I can get killed by the shockwave when I'm well out of its radius and find myself sighing. Sunbreakers are no different than any other class. In their Super, they are siege engines, and they hurt pretty bad. But they're no worse than Golden Gun. If they see you, you die. But the perks of the class almost all revolve around the Super. When they're not hurling flaming hammers like mortars, they're pretty squishy, they still have a short melee range, they won't get an overshield, their grenades don't stick, no cheap tricks. The Super is the only thing that makes this class powerful.

                              • I main a titan and I really don't care of they nerf sunbreaker. I'm not a crybaby huntard. That being said, what are you hunters gonna cry about next when they nerf health on sunbreakers?
