Replacing Dinklebot
Well just heard that are replacing Peter Dinklage with Nolan North for all future Ghost voice acting.
Im fine with this, Nolan North is a professional VA in this industry and has done amazing work. Also heard he is going be replacing all existing line that he had too...
Again fine with this, consistency is key when it comes to a good VA. However even though Peter Dinklage didnt to a great job, i feel its apart of that game now.
Im sure some of you understand what i mean. Though i will miss Dinklebot, i cant wait to hear the Northern Ghost.
Im going to start my Hunter when The Taken King comes out, so it's going to be a new experience with the new Ghost.

I don't get why people hate Dinklebot so much. I've heard some BAD voice over work and brother, that's not even close. What were people expecting from a boring little robot who exists to revive us and feed us exposition? Tyrion Lanister? Bender? Clank? Dinklebot's hardly an interesting character, but I think people are seriously over-exaggerating his "awful" acting. He never called me a Jill sandwich...

I blame the writers and directors. They give him the content, they give Dinklage the context of HOW he's supposed to say things (surprised, angry, joking etc). Instead, someone just let him read lines and thought that was ok to put in the game. So he gets blamed entirely for that bad performance. He deserves some blame, but the majority of it should be directed at Bungie who thought his performance was good enough to use. The rest of the blame comes from the writers who gave the voice actors the shitty script in the first place. Let's not forget some of the other winners: "I have no time to explain, why I don't have time to explain". "What do we do now? We go down!"

3 RepliesI love Dinklage, dude is awesome. But they should have had someone consistanly on board from the start. They really didn't need big name actors for any of the voices.

Yeah. On [i]paper[/i] Dinklebot sounded like a good idea. In retrospect, it seemed a fail. But is it crappy acting, crappy lines/story or a bit of both? We'll find out soon.
