What Is a Reasonable KD?
I don't know what Destiny people accept as a decent KD. Anyone help?

For me its not so much about what their KD is, but how they obtained their KD. Like, i'm going to respect a player a lot more if they have a 2.0 KD and they mostly play alone, as opposed to someone who built their 2.0 off the backs of a 4-6 man Fireteam they always play with. And, I'm going to respect someone's KD more depending on which weapon types they use. I guess in general, a 1.5-2.0 is a pretty good player. Anything between 2.0 and 2.5 is even better, and anything higher than 2.5 is just a whole other level.

Nowdays I'd say everything + 1.0 is ok because with the current meta is just a matter of who sees who first. With Thorn being the way it is I'm not even bothered to pick up heavy in 6 vs 6 anymore, that's how bad the current state is. Back when AR's ruled and other weapons actually were somewhat viable I would have said 2.5-3.0. On a more general note, I've never believed the "people get better over time"- argument. This is only true if you've never played a FPS before. If you however have, which is true for most of us, you're not going to start off at 0.2 and all of a sudden have a 3.0. You might need some adjustements to the weapons and maps but it's not the significant change people make it out to be.

By definition, anything over 1.0 is actually ok. You'll still get told to git gud by trolls, but hey, welcome to the Internet. Mine are slowly climbing, standing at about .8 iirc, from a very bad, and slow start. I have many many deaths to make up...

6 RepliesIt doesn't matter. Check out my Hunter's recent games and then check further back and overall. Sometimes you mess around with different weapons and that affects your k/d. No one really cares.

I never go by all time KD. It is misleading because people get better the more they play. I always look at the KD for the last 30 days. That is more representative of their skills now.

1 ReplyWell I prefer playing casually and enjoy the game instead of trying my ass off every match and raging if I get shotgunned or Titan smashed. Most the time I'm sitting at the back of the map on my phone whilst playing on and off or I would be running around quickscoping. Then the odd game every now and again I would try. KD doesn't mean crap to me

45 RepliesEdited by Chainsaw Tex: 7/29/2015 11:49:01 AMIf you always run in a team then really 3+ minimum. Probably 3.5 if its a PvP clan. If you run alone then 1.2 is reasonable. Edit: look at all the salty clan members I've baited. So easy to fish for losers who sit around comparing kds all day.

4 Replies1.0 is a person that can pull their own weight I guess. As others have said though, KD is meaningless if they're a player that ignores the objective. Like me, I ignore zones in Crucible but it's because I've won 100 crucible games and only need the "kills as a titan" grimoire. I know it's selfish blah blah I'm just saying, you're rather have someone that caps zones on your team than me in most situations.
