Why is nightfall a dark below?
Ok so I am like the only person that doesn't have dark below. But just because I don't have 20 dollars doesn't mean I don't have the right to do the nightfall! This is the stupidest thing. No one told me if I got the game I would HAVE to buy the dlc to enjoy it!

Yeah, it's a bollocks system. Considering they're going to overhaul strikes with TTK by saturating them with the new (well, the reskinned ones) enemies, people who don't buy TTK will have even more content taken away from them.

If you don't have House of Wolves expect the same to happen soon again when Shadowthief is on rotation. Bungie has ongoing costs for servers, maintenance and so on and although Destiny has no monthly fee the DLCs work as some kind of. People who buy them have an advantage, just because you once bought the game you can't expect them to support it forever for free.
