So the year one emblem reward requirements were revealed and while honestly I don't care either way what it takes to get it I found it funny they'd require both hard raids and skolas when we just recently had information revealed detailing just how few guardians had even done a raid. Wouldn't this mean the greater majority of your year one veterans is ineligible so far for the year one reward?

It's like 85% have never completed a raid

I sherpa-ed 5 guys through vault of glass last night for their first time and taught them how to do it. Took an hour and a half. Maybe you guys should try and help too

First of all, that's not the year one reward, it's for a different emblem. Secondly, let me give you some numbers that you may find interesting. (These numbers are from Playstation trophies, so it's not the entire population, but I'm guessing the xbox percentages are similar.) 21.9% of players have completed a raid. Now that might seem like a small percent of the player base, but let's put it in perspective. 24.2% of players have reached rank 3 in vanguard. If you look at the players who have reached rank 3 vanguard (a fairly basic task in the game) as people who have actually played the game a little (we'll call them Real Destiny Players or RDPs), and consider the percentage of them who have completed a raid, the percentage of RDPs who have competed a raid is much higher. 21.9/24.2 = .905 or 90.5% Now it's fair to assume there are some players who have completed a raid, but not reached rank 3 in vanguard. I'm assuming the percentage of people who have completed a raid, but not reached rank 3 vanguard is quite low (my guess is less than 5%) but let's set it at 10% just to be generous. So if we take out 10% of the 21.9% of raiders, that leaves 19.7% of players who have raided and are RDPs. So 19.7% (or more) of players are RDPs who have raided, and 24.2% of players are RDPs. 19.7/24.2 = .814 or 81.4% (or more) In conclusion, over 80% of RDPs (players who have played the game at least a little while) have completed a raid.

The raids are not really that hard anymore I've only done 123 completions but easy enough

9 RepliesI don't mean to offend you but this is one of one of my main issues with the game right now. You have three 34's and you've never done a hard mode raid. The level cap should only be attainable by playing all of the game.
-
You wouldnt really be a veteran if you havent done the hardest things. If you dont do it your not really legend, legends do the hardest things possible. If it had just said be here on this date or that date. It would be pointless to get.
-
I think that's their goal, to encourage more players to do raids and boost that stat. Funny how great weapons and armor didn't do it but a name tag does.
-
You can't be considered a year 1 vet without completing a raid.
-
6 RepliesAll I need is the chests I probably won't get them it's just an emblem
-
Make a poll you skank
-
It's a legend reward. The year one reward is the sparrow shader and emblem coming with ttk. Duh.

7 RepliesWell, isn't it kinda the point? If you're a seasoned guardian than you've done it all! Congrats! Sit back, collect your emblem and enjoy your accomplishments. Bungie isn't making you jump thru anymore hoops. You've accomplished the goals along the way. It shows you're a seasoned player that's seen it all No need to run off and grind for two months. Good luck to those newer players that want the emblem. Oh I'm sure there will be try hards that grind it out but the casual player might not make it.
-
It's a worthless emblem. Oh Bungie, way to get some suckers to continue to grind the grind till Sept..:)) Hats off to ya.!!
-
I wouldn't consider you a vet, if you haven't done those things
-
6 RepliesMost of the list can be done in a day.. 100 crucible wins is only 16 wins of control (6x17=102 wins) and the rest is cake walk stuff
-
I wasn't that surprised. I was only missing about 8 golden chest for that thing; who wants to go chasing these elusive chests for less than lackluster loot?

Edited by Wowbagger: 7/9/2015 12:48:19 PMyea, I think hard Raid is going to be 14% of Total players An obvious guess would be 25-40% of Year Ones still playing the game may have done the Hard Raid. P.S - I aim to finish Destiny 4 (or whatever number it ends on) having never done a single LFG thing.
-
To be fair raids are one of the games bread and butter. I'm not quite sure what you are doing if you haven't run hard croata. I still find it fun.
-
I did the raids and everything but skolas before the emblem thingy came. I tried skolas before hand but people were so bad even with burns we couldn't complete it. Did it with first timers and killed skolas first try. Sometimes newbies are better than experienced
-
2 RepliesThose guardians legends will fade...
-
3 RepliesI can see Skolas being a problem but I see no reason for not having done the raids - other than that people really don't like the concept of raids. It's super easy to find a raid team and you can beat them X people down, despending on which raid it is. If you've played the game for a while you're bound to have atleast one person on your list who knows how to run a raid. Start be asking that person for help.
-
15 RepliesIf you haven't already fulfilled the requirements / triumphs, then you really can't call yourself a year 1 veteran. Logging on every day and just hitting Crucible for example, does not make you a veteran. Get them all done before TTK then sure, why not.

6 Replieshttp://destinytracker.com/destiny/population Scroll down to the player completion stats. Play PvP Regularly 71% Completed Vault of Glass 73% Completed Vault of Glass (30) 60% Completed Crota's End 61% Completed Crota's End (Hard) 45% Those are reasonably high %'s considering how any people probably pick up the game and quit before level 20
-
Most of the who didn't even do raid probably stopped playing anyway
