What if you are just an average pvp player,
sometimes you get first place with most kill and some times you don't...
Some times you win in Rumble some times you loose. Just and average player with and average K/D.
As most players are, I reckon.
Would you have a chance in ToO.?
I mean, there will be some very skillful players out there with high K /D and good teams .
For those player it will be less struggle to get that highly sought after gear.
Will the Trial of osiris be a playground for a few very skilled players?
In other words: will it be balanced?
EDIT
After reading most of your posts , in which many were very interesting and creative, I have come to my own conclusion : Yes! Trial of Osiris should be balanced. By balanced I mean in the way that the more skilled players should recive the gear they deserve.
In other words: If you don't have it, you won't get it.
As for now we don't know much about ToO, so our opinions are speculative.
We have to wait one more day to find out....

I'm avg at Pvp but my downfall is in my experience in 3v3. Don't know how that will go.
-
Everyone will have access to the reef, even if you never bought a dlc! May take you longer to get your gear. And ALL Legendary gear will be upgradable, not just raid gear! Have heard conflicting stories on this.

Edited by CookieNiki: 4/27/2015 7:54:13 PMIt's PvP, who cares? :) And you must either keep winning or have lots of motes: "Players can keep playing as long as they keep winning. As soon as the player loses 3 times, they will need to spend another Mote of Light to enter. " I don't know if ToO will have matchmaking but if it doesn't then the weak PvP players, (without friends to play with), will have a lot of trouble to have a regular team on ToO, Other players will run away from them.

2 RepliesI think there will plenty of room for the normal folk. I think the big thing will be to get some guys to play with that Work well as a team. I think all it will take is playing together, managing your k/d well, and being smart.
-
We will find out in 2 days. Just wait it out for the stream.
-
i feel like TTOO (the trials of osiris) should be a playground for only the most absolute skilled tryhards. Make it the new MLG of destiny
-
I think this will be more like a raid to the pvp players. So both pve and pvp players can get the same kinds of rewards.
-
It will get it's own section in the recruitment forums. If you aren't on a team I can see it being very hard. So just go to recruitment and grab 2 more people with mic's to go play.
-
I'm really not a fan of PvP but the gear looks absolutely worth the effort.

1 ReplyEdited by PedalOnTheRight: 4/27/2015 7:01:14 PMIf you think the cheating/lag/etc is bad in crucible or iron banner, wait until you see this! The more at stake, the more people will do anything to get it.
-
The best chances go to the ones with the worst connections. Sad state of reality with this game. It's to the point where you can't even tell if a win was based on skill or connections.
-
The trials are where good PVP players go to get a challenge in skirmish. I can assure you that if you are average and alone you will lose unless a team of terrible people are going against you.
-
No it will not be balanced and fair and equal for all players. nor does it need to be either.
-
I see already how I am matchmade with 24 lvl PvE players who have no idea what is ToO..... I love this matchmaking system.

21 RepliesEdited by Zoomie517: 4/27/2015 3:37:07 PMI'm one of those weird folks that is horrific at PvP but still love it. I am clearly handicapped for ToO. That said, while I am bummed about it, I am glad that Bungie finally has something to truly challenge and reward the best of the best. We scrubs have RNG. Let the big boys and girls finally be rewarded for their skills. Look forward to all of you shooting me in the face real soon.

1 ReplyI suspect it'll be along the lines of: If you're great at PVP, then rewards should come fairly easy for you, and all you need is time. If you are terribad at pvp, then you will have to slog through it and you will have more frustration, more currency spending, and more time than a great pvper.

1 ReplyBalanced or not your only shot at doing well in this playlist is going into it with a solid team of 3, if you plan on playing ToO solo you are in for a rude awakening
-
Yea that's the way I feel also
-
2 RepliesIt's not supposed to be balanced. The strong will crush the weak. Only the strong will be able to wield the god cards.
-
1 ReplyMeh, I don't have time to wait for Crucible's terrible loot table to give me a Trials pass. I'm just gonna buy my way in.
-
It's geared towards rewarding the better than average players but we don't know the exact layout yet. It might be that if you have enough motes of light you maybe able to buy your way through, that even a loss gets you points even though your out. With the description of the FateOfAllFools mentor missive, ten wins in a row or 25 wins total (if I remember right) sounds like a good path for earning gear too. You'll probably have to win every fifth match to progress like IronBanner but each time you lose you will buy back in. Might not have tokens, only wins count. We will have to wait and see Wednesday

I think that because most people are average, you will most likely be running against average pvp players anyway. Therefore, the contests should be fairly even. Also, I think it will force people to get better at pvp. I watched youtube videos on pvp before my first Iron Banner because I was a terrible player. I've improved a lot since watching and implementing what I've learned. It will be pretty cool to see how ToO (hopefully) changes pvp for the better...

18 RepliesEdited by EDIT: 4/27/2015 3:22:20 PMYes,, the ToO gear should only be the few that can obtain it. Just like, there are some PvP players that don't like or do Raids, and cant' get the gear from those. I don't like this idea that ALL players should be catered to and coddled to be able to get any gear they want without the appropriate effort.

7 RepliesA lot of these questions will be answered on wednesday most likely. If it is skirmish then the team you bring in matters more than individual skill. They'll probably allow random matchmaking but it would be suicide to do that. Getting into ToO is still unconfirmed whether anyone can join each weekend until they lose three times or if they have to do well in vanilla crucible to get a ticket into the trials. Best case scenario for me: 2v2 or 3v3 with no weird ticket hoop to jump through, just play until we loose and get rewards along the way. Worst case: 1v1 or rng drop trials tickets.
-
Everyone bitches about how everyone runs around with the same armor. Now that there's potentially an event that may limit a particular set, people are worried. Lol. That being said, the trials are apparently EVERY weekend, not a limited time playlist. Unfortunately, I'm sure the playlist will be eventually diluted enough that most will get all the drops.

3 RepliesIn my opinion it's going to be hard but not impossible for casual players. Skirmish is the most unforgiving crucible mode there is. If you get one amazing player on the opposing team and your team is all average you will probably lose. I've had games where my teammates go negative but we manage to win because the other team is just not that good and I can abuse them. I've also been on the other end where my whole team gets stomped out because you have 1 MLG type sniper or TLW user who just plays all day and is amazing and you can't stop him. If they allow fireteams in, controllers will be slammed. I don't see why they wouldn't. My hope is that thousands of casuals will be playing and that will thin the chances of running into these pro players with 2.0+ KD
