Farewell Gjallarhorn
As a day-one'er and a frequent player, I've come to grips that I simply am not going to receive this weapon. I have every other exotic (available on xb1), multiples in fact of most of them, yet I have never received this prized weapon. I have finally made peace that I will never get it. While the RNG is a factor, I should have received it by now with how much I play and how many times I have done an event or action that can yield exotic weapons. So I will continue to use my thunderlord, truth, or HoC and still be just as effective. Oh yes, and I will continue to visit Xur and see that he has the upgrade for gjallarhorn for sale yet again. Farewell Gjallarhorn.
Edit 1: Did the Crota raid last night, and guess what?! Someone else got it. Someone who literally just completed their 2nd Crota raid ever.
Edit 2: Did 2 more Crota raids and 1 VoG run and each time someone else got the gjallarhorn. LOL
Edit 3: Finally got that suma bitch last night from PoE. Literally gave up and didnt care any more. It will however be 365 by the end of the day. Abandoning all hope to obtain it really works!

2 RepliesMy friens has gally and truth, he prefers his truth. I think gally is an overrated weapon. Ice breaker is a much more bad ass and versatile weapon in my opinion. Truth is also a nasty launcher, samw with hunger of crota.

i had one... and had 3 drop for me back to back. the ghorn is either feast or famine. Keep at it though it will come!

7 RepliesHere's a little story. I have around 800 hours and no gally so I created a whole new profile. 18 hours in they gave me a gally. Zero raid completions, zero nightfalls, and vanguard rank was still zero. Last night I played a nightfall as a 28 warlock. Posted that I needed someone to help me through a nightfall. One guy carried me through the whole thing. I fell asleep three times and in the last 5 minutes I left to take a dump. Finished with 13 kills over 50 assists and I died constantly. The other guy had around 200 kills with zero deaths. They gave me gally and he got some crappy auto rifle. So 2 gallies in less than a hundred hours on the new profile and 800 hours without it for my old profile. My theory is long time players won't get it cause they know you will keep grinding for it. New players will get it so they get hooked on the game quicker. Or it's totally random and too many of us just have bad luck

If u have been playing from day one and still lack this awesome weapon, it is not a problem with the game. The problem lies with the player who is obviously doing something wrong. Your maximum PvE potential will never b reach if you are still missing this weapon.

Carried a 30 through crota hard. He was a random. And he messed it up a few times. Everyone wanted him to get kicked out. We ended up with him doing nothing in the crystal room....he got a gally and everyone was pissed.....it makes me believe that playing bad helps you get beter rewards. .....

Gjallahorn is the most overrated exotic ever. Don't feel bad about it as Dragon's Breath does more damage over all! (reserve too)

Id say there theories are correct. My brothers been grinding since day dot Ive been playing for around 8 weeks now i found 2 gallys in 2 weeks and hes only got the one. 8 weeks and i have well over 30 exotics Only done crotas end maybe 5 times and other then the last word i have every raid weapon. Double ups on some. Done vog 3 times and got a gally. Vex and plan c. Some gamers definetely seem luckier then others

I'm with you. I don't raid or even nightfall with regularity so my chances of getting it through RNG are diminished even more. But it's no longer "really want what I can't have" and I'm fine with it. I have a bunch of exotics now and have been busy leveling them to the second specialty perk. There's a lot of fun toys out there to play with. Ghorn is really meant for raid and nightfall bosses and is unnecessary for pretty much everything else as it's overkill. I'm shocked to see crucible players waste the exotic a lot for Ghorn. Thorn, Red Death, Bad Juju, Invective are a much better choice based on how often you use your heavy. But if I do get it, I'll certainly be happy but it's not driving me crazy anymore.
