Silver rank…good matches. Good teams that I’m matched with. Then I get to gold or about to be gold, and I’m am matched against an opposing team of strangers who play together in a lethal, precise manner like they are Destiny’s Seal Team 6. Meanwhile my teammates are playing like they are toddlers who just crapped their diapers…spoiled brats -blam!- to work together, DO NOT communicate, and who CONSTANTLY rush in 1v2 or 1v3. If rushing in this way didn’t work the first 10 times you tried it, then why try for 11?! And then they wanna quit the match cause they are mad…leaving me and this person (who is trying to figure out which end of their gun to use on the enemy) to get mauled. Me and my positive KAD have just lost another match and get de-ranked.

4 RisposteThe worst part is,this would all literally be fixed if comp played exactly how we wanted it to play: Rank based match making. Have players match only other plays of the same rank, maybe plus or minus a rank. Expand the parameters out by a rank in either direction the longer it takes to find a match until.a match is found. If a team is made of mixed rank players, they match to whatever rank the average of their points would equal. Ideally, have it so that if the highest ranked player in a premade team is two or more ranks than the lowest ranked player, then they match into the higher player's rank, but I'm not sure how easily that would be able to be implemented. It would make matches a lot fairer across the board then, and might actually attract more people to comp.

3 RisposteCrucible in general is in a terrible state. The meta currently is abysmal dogshit. That and having comp barely functioning for the average player is horrible. I lost rep on a game where a teammate was booted for AFK. Idk what to do about this -blam!-
-
So I won a lot in a row yesterday, now all I seem to get is bot team mates and quitters. This is such a joke. Was literally about to move up 8800 now dropped to 7048. Granted I had some bad games too but honestly this meta is worse than the titan smg meta which was arguably one of the most dull metas ever. I hope bungie sees this forum and gets their act together because this is honestly very disappointing

1 RispondiComp is not getting better, it is getting more horrible to play. Bungie cannot fix the core problems. - invis hunters should be on radar - much less special muni - comp mode is bad -> no revive in clash, trials mode in comp, no zone in this stupid meta - fusion rifle nerf on console - much less abilities - DODGE NERF (dodging problem was discussed years ago, nothing happened) - no overshilds out of barricade - overshild when starting a rift (like in the first artefact) - xim/chronus/ mnk dedection when playing on console

4 RisposteI feel this, wait to act when the comp changes take affect that’s what I’m doing. I got the emblem last episode but right now I’m taking my time till then. Platinum div seems to be night and day when comes to mm but when I got into adept it seems I little more balanced. Two biggest problems in comp is the point system and what version of sbmm they use.
-
3 Rispostelol it gets way way way worse when you reach adept 1 even adept 2 tbh. it gets bad to the extent that me and my ascendant pushing partner if we get stalled out from sbmm trying to push us back down we will call it and stop playing comp for the night once we have gained the amount of points that sbmm alots us before it starts pushing us back down by means of giving us a third teammate with less than half the average past 10 games kd of the enemy duos 3rd. like last night we went two games up two games down over and over and just decided to end it on 2 games up. this is my third ascendant push and after reaching it the past two episodes i can tell you with very high certainty that you are not competing with other players in destiny 2 comp. you are competing with the games sbmm and there are a bunch of shady ways you can attempt to better compete with it. i have heard from others as far as the system already registers you at a predetermined rank based on what it believes your skill level is and will try to keep you there while simultaneously if your skill level is registered as ascendant you will get far more games vs ascendant/high adept players than you will against players of your own rank.
-
The higher you go the more scumbags you run into. Stay in silver and have fun.
-
2 RisposteThis is an obvious gooey, sweaty streamer based playlist that if you incorporate daily hygiene, you should have no part of.
-
The bxr style weapon + invis hunter is truly one of the most annoying things to play. I’m a hunter main and I hate, I absolutely hate, the invis play style. The team firing meta is trash, the fusion rifle crutch players are awful, it’s just sit at the back and hide until something happens then everyone rushes in. It’s a horrible meta and filled with nothing fun. That said I’m getting that emblem lol. But truly comp in destiny is awful. #downwithinvishunters
-
2 Risposte🤣 Yep. I can't ever get past Gold 3. I just constantly bounce between Silver 1 and Gold 3.

1 RispondiCompetitive You have to look at it simply because bungie has 2 factors of matching players on priority and its rank and then cr score. (Combat rating). And your not fighting other players. Your fighting the behind scene score. For example if players are a 150/110/90 cr score sbmm says player 150 should do better and gain less or lose more points. There whole system is not based on the outcome of your game but on the outcome of the point system determining of score against eachother. This tells you where you belong. And bungie is notoriously know for that there cr score is when settle unchangeable. So nxt time you feel like match outcome isn’t right. Go to destiny kd.com and see if your cr score is higher or lower then your party and see why you lose or gain much points. This in combination with you’re rank tells you why you gain or lose much points. For illustration I’ll give a example below. This is pure theoretical and not actually the numbers use but pure to illustrate the mathematical stuff behind competitive matchmaking: Acendent players (cr score 160/220) Adept players (110/160) Platinum players (80/110) For example Team 1 player 1 is cr 200 Player 2 is cr 140 Player 3 is cr 90 Team 2 Player 4 is cr 140 Player 5 is cr 110 Player 6 is cr 110 If all players play in platinum. The match will be decided as follows T1, player 1/6/3 this accounting balance team. T2, player 2/4/5 this,, ,,, ,, ,, According to this ballance team 1 is a total of 400 cr score Team 2 has a total of 390 cr score. So bungie says the outcome of the match will be 52% in favo of team one. Now all players are in platinum ranks when for some reason team 1/player 1 loses this match. He will not lose a lot of points because the game will try to push him towards Ascendent, player 6 will lose the most points because he is near his rank and should preform better and the odds are in is his favor player 3 won’t lose much because is above his expectation and he is in the middle of the bell curve for population sake. This is the sbmm affecting the point system before the match outcome. Now we will look when this works against you as a player. For example your player 2 and your in the race for Acendent. When you are in adept and your cr score is 140 the game will acknowledge that you’re in your supposed bracket now when you go into a game where the odds are in your favo to win % wise and you lose that game. The game will deduct a sick amount of points near to 200. Just to make sure you will remain in your supposed bracket. And other wise when you have favo % and you win you will get as little as 50 points. This is all dependent on these mm parameters. This gives the player the illusion of they can improve. But only against bungie mm parameters which are set in stone. Aka beating a dead horse. But bungie is notrius for the cr score, and not changing it. You can do this calculation for you’re self. Go into comp/qp and lose a redicules amount of games. And you will see that there api will not change you’re cr score. The simple fact is that this would cost resources and we all know bungie PvP is not monitizable. TLDR; your fight against broken slot system and don’t have a illusion you’re in controle. You can only be lucky or make a new about and be better then before. Hope this helps

About to quit playing it for the season as well. Not a fun time with whatever they did to rankings.
-
Oh good. Thought it was just me. I got to Gold II and then lost every single match until Silver I because of just 1 teammate, Dae, who spent more time emoting us, the opposite team and trash talking than anything else. He even followed me into Silver I where I just straight up quit the match because there is no match make blocker in this game..
-
1 RispondiNot exactly sure who you are complaining about. You have been the top person on your team like 3 times in your last 20 games. Maybe try looking inward.
-
3 RisposteI'm glad it's not just me I was 1 or maybe 2 wins away from gold and now I'm stuck down in bronze 2. I've won 3 our of my last 15 games mainly down to uneven lobby balancing and having to carry teammates!!!!
-
I was moving between adept 2 and ascendant and eventually I said this just isn’t worth it. I took break when mental V rivals c came out and wow their comp matchmaking, rank up favored wins vs loss points, and replays just blows this games comp scene out of the water by miles. I really think Bungie should take notes from that game. It feels like an actual rank system.
-
1 RispondiModificato da Coal: 3/4/2025 5:52:22 AMplayer pop in comp is so incredibly low that chances are, you are facing adept and ascendant players while you are gold. That has been a constant occurrence for me. If they made the loot enticing, balanced their sandbox, and banned "accessibility devices" - maybe normal, blood pumping, oxygen breathing, water drinking, healthy weighted, employed individuals would play comp - making your experience more enjoyable.
-
1 Risponditwo years ago it was possible for me to get above 8500 points, no i barely can reach 5000 because of the perfect matchmaking - very interesting how the system was changed
-
I have a simple solution to your ongoing problem.
stop playing it
2 RisposteIf it were “rigged” in a sensical way, then I’d be fine. For example, before, it used to boost good players out of lower ranks so fast that getting to mid-Adept was incredibly easy and you were really only trying those last couple of games. Average and below average players would feel like they were hard-stuck in lower ranks, which makes sense: if the rank is to be an estimate of skill, there shouldn’t be 0.5 K/D players in Ascendent. Average players would feel like the game was “rigged” but really they were just at the rank that best reflected their skill. The current system feels like it heavily rewards persistence (I.e. slamming your head against a wall for hundreds of hours) as opposed to rewarding skill. There is a reason no rank system in any other competitive game is structured this way and are instead structured in the formerly described way… The old rank system wasn’t perfect but it was transparent and logical: good players zoom up to higher ranks, bad players get stuck in lower ranks. I don’t really see why they keep reinventing the wheel and making it worse every iteration. The problem with comp was not the rank system, it’s the fact it’s pathetically unrewarding. Now, it’s terribly unrewarding AND has a horrible ranking system 🤦♂️

100% Rigged against players
-
2 RisposteCod does the same thing with their matchmaking. Pretty much all games nowadays do this. It's not like it used to be back in the day before all the rigged matches, forced losses, hidden skill based damage and all the other bs they pull to manipulate the outcome they desire, the goal being as close to 50/50 win loss and a 1.00 kd as they can get you to be. There are no more fair matches in the modern age. If you feel like you are being screwed, that's probably because you are.
-
I think a lot of people like you including are just getting fed up with pvp in general . I’m playing less and less each month . Control is just repeat the same kind of game over and over . Same weapons and scores . Back to mercies which is just tedious and a waste of time . Have no idea how some are pumping in 30odd games a day …I just about manage 3 lol
-
Definitely is. Bungie's way of keeping you on the game.
-
5 RisposteAll PVP is BS poop now! The cheating or manipulation is ridiculous. Not to mention, since I'm not cheating or so, nothing I have seems to work anymore. Plus, they keep nerfing arc soul! Ppl run right through witherhord now or will kill me while it's shot on them, then kill them...stupid. Just not fun anymore. Just a shame something that used to be so fun can't be for those that DO NOT CHEAT. Not to mention, they won't change the maps --i guess for more manipulation. I spawn get killed. I spawn, take three steps, shot in back. Forget balance of any sort --how could there be with all the manipulation? I guess bungie doesn't need base players anymore!
-
Wow. That's really unfortunate. Nobody can advance? So nobody is going to get the emblem? Just unfortunate.
