@Everyone, any tips for new players
Hello all...
I have been a long time fan of the franchise... the lore of Destiny in particular...
I have not as yet gotten into the gameplay for this game (Destiny 2) but am looking to start playing the game who's lore I love so much...
Not a young gamer, but I consider myself a quick learner and eager student... I have played some of the original Destiny and have completed the tutorial, so take that to mean whatever you will...
Any tips from the pros would be welcome 🙏

I would ignore almost everything people say on the forums. A large portion of these people are very, very bad at the game and are mostly here to whine. They are quite bitter, hence the attacks over whatever you said about the lore previously. My advice to get started (with pve) is to read what certain mods do and try to pair things that seem like they would have some synergy. Charged with light mods are a good starting point. Focus on one or two aspects of the game, usually one half about staying alive and the other half about either killing tons of enemies or dealing tons of damage. Pick whatever subclass and super you like (it really doesn't matter for 90% of the game), but again, look for synergy. This game is mostly about finding the right tool for the job in a sense. Test out whatever you come up with and use what feels the best to you. Once you feel comfortable with something, if you aren't afraid to queue up with other people, use the fireteam finder or discord and get involved in raids and other endgame stuff. There are always lots of people looking to help out new players on the lfg discord. If you find someone slaying out, copy their build and try it out yourself. For pvp, there are players with much better advice than I have. I hope this was somewhat helpful. If you haven't unlocked mods yet, you have to progress your guardian rank.

1 RispondiStep 1: Ignore the overwhelming negativity on these forums. Step 2: Explore different builds and synergies and don't be afraid to make mistakes or mess up. Step 3: Avoid any LFG groups that refuse to communicate. Step 4: Unless doing a Raid/Extremely difficult content IGNORE the META. Prioritise fun over anything!

OP: welcome! 😁 Tips: 1. Explore the game and its various modes; go out into the universe and see what you can see! 2. Try everything…it’s all good! 3. Take your time and get to know your characters…and slowly build and improve as you go deeper and further in your journey. 4. Get some in…and form your own opinions. 5. Don’t worry - There’s way more reasonable Guardians than this or other forums might suggest. If you need some help, ask nicely and don’t bs, and help will appear! 6. Understand that the game and Bungie are in a bit of a mess currently…Sony is examining their options re Destiny’s future. Every reasonable Guardian is waiting to see what develops? Just play and enjoy the game…until things become clear…it shouldn’t be too long before they do. 7. Spend Bright Dust not $$$$ , unless you want to…it’s your call. Ease Springs! 🫡

It’s important to remember that buildcrafting doesn’t cost you any hard-to-obtain resources, so always be open to experimenting and trying new things. I like to test out my builds in the Breakneck mission of Lightfall. When you get to the room with a rally banner outside a breakable door, as long as you don’t kill the angry Wyvern mini boss, you can die and restart with the rally. Lets you test out your builds with full ammo and abilities each reset. Also good for leveling crafted weapons. When it comes to gear, remember that most activities in this game have power cap, so don’t feel like you have to get max level gear before you invest enhancement cores. Just NEVER enhance blue gear. You can acquire high-stat gear quickly from the seasonal vendor engrams (don’t forget the ghost mods for focusing stats). While legend lost sectors are pretty much dead now, if you run some of the easier ones in a squad you can get a lot of enhancement materials quickly. This can help you masterwork your gear sooner. If you find yourself needing fireteam finder, just make sure you know how it works before making a listing. More often than not, I’ll find new players needing help, but not knowing how to work the finder. Most of them don’t respond to chat, so I don’t know how to help. Communication is key for LFG.

Oh, and if you want to know why the story is all screwed up and there is no sense of direction in what to do in the game. This developer removed the main campaign from the game and parts of the story while removing half the game's content and has been bringing tiny pieces back here and there while some of it is being sold back to the player base through season passes. You are better off finding another game where the developer cares about their product and doesn't just use their player base as a cow. I stopped giving them money and I'm glad I did. I don't need to help support a business so they can spend our money on other projects and millions on exotic cars instead of learning how to invest the player base money into this game where it actually belongs.

Okay then, I'm no pro (my stats back this up), BUT here is what I've learnt anyway: Play through the campaigns, they will open up new options, powers and weapons to you. Familiarise yourself with controls and the pros and cons of each class. Focus on a character build that works with you play style. And finally - and this is the most important thing that I cannot stress enough - find what makes the game fun for you.

1 RispondiJust enjoy the game at your own pace. You will have plenty to do and enjoy. If you need help with any missions etc just post on lfg, plenty of players willing to help with missions, dungeons etc. Most of all have fun.

It's pretty much Destiny, but if the Devs and Higher ups actually cared about thier game. Cause once you start playing destiny, it's pretty much like injecting yourself with drugs. First play through is fun, but more and more you'll just realize you only get on to the orbit screen, go to the tower and then log off cause there isn't anything for you to do.
