I’m not mad but this should be the icing on the cake for anyone that believes a word Bungie says. Especially when it comes to their contrived reasons for gear/loot. They continue to and wills always do whatever it takes to sell more expansions regardless of what they’ve said or done in the past

I would go and grab every piece of available loot from the archives before they decide to change anything on those legacy weapons…

I guess they learned from the whole "sunset my guns, sunset my business" statement huh? 😂 Btw....this is an ultimate slap in the face for players who they lied to. No other way to spin it.

Another case of bungie trying to keep players on the hamster wheel with another carrot to grind for, and trying to bait returning players into buying their overpriced dlc by removing the power limits rendering their old loot useless. Problem with that decision is they just made the people that did delete their sunset gear thinking it’ll never be good again feel betrayed. People that aren’t happy that they deleted their sunset weapons thinking they will never come back are pretty justified. Especially when in some cases of grinding days sometimes weeks for that specific roll. Most people too also had no choice to delete old gear since bungie refuses to increase vault space after so many years of expansions increasing our potential loot to earn. But that’s a whole other can of worms. Then to add salt to the wound bungie reverses that decision years long after we could have recovered our weapons and instead of out right giving players the weapons back via collections or crafting they instead are just going to add them back to be earned again most likely via another long and tediously difficult activity (yes better than nothing, but the principle of them advising us to delete sunset gear then back pedaling that decision is why people are upset and feel betrayed because now we have no sunset loot to enjoy). I personally think bungie shot themselves in the foot with this decision as so many players deleted gear thinking it’ll never come back and the only players happy are the ones that kept stuff. But that’s just the bandaid coming off response from the community after coming to terms with never using that gear again. Sunsetting never should have happened and bungie needs to start respecting players, the loot the ground for (stop nerfing things to the ground is a start), and the time investment players put into things.

Everything announced in the TWID is hypocritical of what Bungie has been implanting in our brains for years.

Stop looking at positive changes as insults to you personally. They're not. YOU chose to grind for those weapons, YOU chose to dismantle some, none, or all of them, and Bungie is now saying "Hey, go ahead, use it anywhere <3" and your response is to be angry?

As much as I dislike it, being someone who deleted a ton of my gear, this is objectively the best decision they could make right now for the sake of the game. Too many players who still haven't even heard that this happened who come back to reinstall and try new content just to realize they can't use their old stuff, and then they delete the game again and never look back. I'll take the nuisance of knowing that I could have kept those weapons if it means that the state of the game improves.

None of the un-sunset gear is viable in PvE for the average player. Not one piece. This is for old players returning.

There's more problems with this as well. We can't even trust them to bring the weapons back with the perks they used to have. So those god rolls will exist only for those who didn't dismantle their useless sunset guns over the course of 3 1/2 years. They couldn't even bring back Breakneck with Rampage + Onslaught. Each player should be able to choose a roll they want from the old perk pools on each sunset weapon before they change them as an apology for this nonsense.

I knew I was keeping my Sole Survivor and Tranquility. I missed my baby's. Also My Duke, Last Hope and Temporal Clause.

It just feeds into something I've known for years: Power doesn't mean anything.
