Before these TWIDs became the norm for communication, the team put everything out in audio form as the Bungie Podcast, with transcripts. However, with the loss of trust recently from the layoffs, a serious change is needed in how the studio interacts with its players. A few other games this past year have started live "fireside chats" where they cover interviews, some behind-the-scenes from how seasonal content was made, what's coming up and, lastly, Q&A from chat.
What I propose, therefore, is the studio conducts two of these shows per season (excluding before new expansions for ViDocs); the first after three weeks, and the second after nine weeks, giving the opportunity to better connect with players. TWIDs would remain to cover items such as major gameplay balancing, weekly bugfixes and MOTW, but I believe the wall of obscurity between the community and studio isn't helping.
If successful, Bungie can then adopt this format for use with Marathon as well.
