I do a comp match, I get 2.1 k/d, my teammates go sub 1 overall kda, sometimes .5 and under, and I lose 170 points, but when I win matches, I get 30 points, or 40 points, I've literally been back to gold 3 7 times now because of this. how the -blam!- are you supposed to get ahead, get better teammates, when you're constantly expected to carry, then punished horribly when you don't. You can only do so much when teammates throw away lives endlessly and you have to kill 5 opponents in a row without dying to save the match.
Why are you punished for playing well, when it says if you play well it keeps you from losing to many points. I think it's bullshit

You must be at the rank Bungie expects you to be. While you're below where the game thinks you should be, you get increased rep for wins and don't lose as much on losses. For reference, I started in gold this season and consistently gained triple digits on wins and only lost 5 to 10 points on losses all through gold because the game evaluated me a lot higher (I pretty consistently matched adepts and ascendants). Once you're at or above where the game thinks you should be, it starts throttling your gains and punishes harder for losses. This is the reason (well, one of the reasons) why I believe their sbmm model doesn't work well for a ranked mode, because it doesn't matter how good you are, it only matters how good the game thinks you are.

Modificato da Wintermute 2050: 5/2/2023 5:01:05 PMIt's because Bungie copied much of the Halo Infinite rank system, which uses a 50% win rate and a normal probability distribution curve. Infinite players discovered they could grind for 8 hours to get to the next rank and then get pushed back to the middle rank just as you are experiencing. This antiquated rank system destroyed Infinite, but Destiny players are unfamiliar with this system so they keep grinding. To break out of the middle rank you may have to play regularly with a team. Otherwise, it is very difficult to make any progress. Bungie should have modified their old system to keep players interested. Instead, they made a long-term commitment to a more frustrating rank system. The only way it will change is if a lot of gamers stop playing Competitive.

I have determined that I am not consistent enough to get to platinum or ascendant in this system. Too often I end up being the potato on my team, while the other team has a flawless god that absolutely carries.

Modificato da nonchalantone: 4/30/2023 7:40:57 PMWhy not get a fireteam? Serious question? Why rant about blueberries not knowing your intentions as a player? In the time you posted this, you could have made an LFG post and list your OWN credentials for a fireteam. This read (to me) more about your skills, and not about what you can do to improve your chances for winning matches.

Just don't do it unless for a Rose

20 Rispostebump, it's a serious question, how the hell does this scoring system work

Modificato da everwilling: 4/30/2023 1:57:48 PMSimple answer don’t bother ! Comp is absolute sh%t fest ! What’s the point ? No rewards. Even taking k/d seriously is laughable in this game . If you are that desperate go lfg 🤷🏼♂️
-
It could be a long shot but maybe try to lfg for teams. If not on here maybe other community groups outside the bungie app

That's how comp often works in most games ..... Win give little while losses drop you a lot Not a destiny issue The destiny issue with it is that comp in D2 still is seen as a joke and nobody taking it serious so having a score system like that .....kinda overkill

Teammate left the match, fought 2v3, which was basically 3v1 since my teammate decided to just ape all over the map and die alot. lost 100 points, for being down a man and not leaving the match, I lost 100 points. Comp is a -blam!- joke.
