Just finished a crucible match a couple minutes in with the other team doubling our score. By the end of the match we were down nearly 100 and had only 2 guardians (including myself). Looking at the stats afterward, there were 8 players on our team that had quit. And this isn't a one-off, with recent changes more & more of the matches I load into are already in progress. When players quit, it makes the game nearly unplayable as missing a player puts a team at a severe disadvantage. The penalty needs to be severe enough (several hours at least) that a player will really thinks twice about quitting.

3 RisposteI put Bungie 100% at fault for people leaving, don't blame the players that quit. Why would anyone play a game with shitty matchmaking, or cheaters roaming free? If Bungie fixes the games people will not leave
-
2 RisposteWhat makes people quit is the feeling that their input does not equate to what is seen in game. Like having damaged someone with many rounds and then a melee, only to be one hit melee'd from nowhere. Many other scenarios exist.

25 RisposteIf it's in quickplay and you lose, does it really matter?

5 RisposteModificato da BedlamX: 1/28/2023 3:22:16 PMNo thank you. I should have the right to quit a bad game. If I recall correctly I paid 100.00 for the witch queen and 100’s more for previous versions The right to quit an activity should remain
-
I'm thankful someone like you will never work in the game industry
-
I hope they remove it entirely after reading this post

The solution isn’t to punish the players. They need to make staying more rewarding.
-
All that would do is encourage throwing matches.

Waaaaahh..I lost in a video game. Waaaaah. Go cry somewhere else. Literally none of this matters. You sound like you're an eight year old.
-
Problem is 1. bad servers so you dont know how many of those were disconnection 2. People do have the right to quit especially with all the comp players flooding quickplay because they dont want to play rift
-
2 RisposteTake away cross play . Have dedicated servers. Better location based matchmaking. People wouldn't leave . Fix the game instead of putting it on the players.
-
2 RisposteLife time ban imo

3 RisposteMake playing PvP worth it first.

Thank allah you don’t work on this game🙏
-
Yes!! Please!!

Naw just lose the penalty altogether then the mercy rule hits faster and the show is over that much faster

1 RispondiModificato da DiReCtFX: 1/28/2023 9:29:26 AMThis started happening last season and it’s why Bungie added the quitter penalties then they loosened em and now players going back doing the same quitting messing up games. I just don’t wanna hear complaints if Bungie puts back stricter quitter penalties. I don’t get why anyone plays mode to just quit ? If you are gonna play finish the one game it’s not tough concept .
-
Modificato da Puma Kane: 1/28/2023 2:13:31 PMInitially, I was against the penalties, but now, Bungie needs to turn them back up. Since the relaxation of the penalties, guys are quitting like it's a freakin' mini game. And I don't want to hear the "people have lives or stuff to do" BS.😡 So, suddenly, you're a concerned parent or ambulance driver? FOH!

4 Rispostecould it be possible that some people were being kicked from the match i.e. due to unstable connections for whatever reason? you can't rule out cheating by the enemy team either. Maybe look your match up on destiny tracker or crucible report to see if there is evidence of a hiccup.

The PvP needs to quit.

2 RisposteI sympathize, because that does suck. Having said that, if the match is one-sided massacre, I think quitting and looking for something that's actually competitive (which generally equates with being more enjoyable) is a perfectly legitimate response. Also, if that many players leave, I think the correct solution would be to have the match called immediately. Presumably that will be the eventual outcome, anyway. (I don't know why they don't have a forfeit option for competitive matches when players leave, since a 3v3 that becomes 3v2 or 3v1 is generally very unfair and fairly pointless other than as practice, and effectively punishes the players who are left holding the bag.) If they could fix their system that seems to result in so many absurdly mismatched stomp-fests to begin with, I would find a penalty for quitting more reasonable. But the way things are, at least for the more casual modes, the expectation that players are going to use up their time as punching bags for players who are way better than they are isn't very realistic or fair. I'm fine with quitting penalties if the mode is presented as one that requires slightly more commitment (as opposed to most game modes, which I think most people view as "this is a video game and I'm trying to have fun"). As to penalties of several hours, I think that's a non-starter under any circumstances.

6 RisposteNo, I think that’s to simple and probably wouldn’t work anyways. Bungie really needs to find a way to make both teams win at the same time on only everyone’s favorite map with a 2.0 k/d That’ll keep people from quitting. Probably nothing else.

Not a bad idea . What could be a problem though would be the games ability to distinguish between those that quit and those who get booted because of connectivity. Of course, according to the game, it’s always our end of the connection that’s the problem so I don’t believe the game is capable of making that distinction
