Light =Imortality, extended life
Dark= infinite death , only the strong survive
"The Line Between Light and Dark is so very thin,do you know which side your own ?"
Yes I do actually, it's never been a question since I was awake long enough to understand what's going on, I am a Soldier Of Light, Champion Of The Traveler
Sorry Bungie, but your Dark and Edgy moral delimma simply doesn't exist , you claim that the darkness isn't inherently evil even though it wants death for the weak and power for only the strong ?

To clarify slightly, at least as I've understood it: Light: complexity, proliferation, expansion, growth. Dark: simplicity, perfection, reduction, survival through negative selection. These forces are those that exist in our world and everywhere. Think of a slime mold growing across a log in the forest. The proliferation of cells and of increasing complexity of pathways it might follow through the wood is an aspect of the light. Not noble, righteous or "good." Just is what it is. The same being. Now it finds itself growing into a richer part of the wood. The parts of the mold growing away from the richer wood are cut off and allowed to whither to better serve to organism as a whole. Not cowardly, weak, or "evil." Just the way of things. Now counterpoint: think of a cancerous tumor. The rapid mutation, increasing complexity, and diversification of cell lines would be aspects of the light. The doctor cutting out a part of the patient so the whole being can survive, winnowing of the cancerous growth, are aspects of the dark. The forces themselves are not so much opposed but are part of each other and come together to form a whole, balanced universe. The Traveler and the Witness, as far as we know, are not necessarily wholly representative of the light and dark, but beings who tend toward the most extreme edges of the universal philosophies they represent. They are beings with agendas and desires. We've used the light for what we think of as good, but we can't forget that there have been lightbarers that committed acts of evil. Think of the tales of risen warlords and their brutality toward each other and the lightless they saw as prey. The hive use their darkness for unspeakable acts of evil, but we must remember they have emotions such as love and others we might call good. Oryx, the Taken King, came at us not as a conqueror, but as a father who bore the grief of loosing his son. The light and dark are simple, natural, and passionless aspects of reality. That said, when it comes to the beings that live within that dichotomy, there is much room for evil and good.

Darkness gave Calus bobbleheads Light doesn’t give bobbleheads
-
No Light bring death to civilisation cause they arrive and fall Back when it gets Spicy dark is not evil its the opposit of Light so in that case Who is bad and Who if good does mean anything. We also dont Know what happen in the complet timeline of the univers. The onlyone you can call evil here is the witness but he s not the darkness he Just use the power of the pyramide

But what is “good” and what is “evil”? More importantly, what are the Light and the Dark? Are they their own beings, with individual intent? Are they just forces without any will of their own, much like convection from a stove top or the constant pull of gravity? I’m not going to try and change your mind, because the idea of them being good, evil, or neutral is inherently a dumb question based on our own morals as a bunch of evolved monkeys who decided that we own this space rock. Also because it’s a video game, and I truly could not care less

The Light ≠ Good or Bad The Darkness ≠ Good or Bad It’s all depends on the wielder. Void, Arc, Solar, and Stasis are simply tools.
-
they're forces of nature the both of them, they don't have any will

4 RisposteWell the first generation of guardians used their powers to kill people & become rulers, & the darkness was used by the hive to escape their short & miserable lives & branch out into the universe, so I'd say neither side is just objectively good or bad. Plus lightbearers use the darkness & the hive use the light.

15 RisposteExplain Warlord's. Killed people, Exploted thier "Gift" for Riches and food while the Lightless Starved and died. Light =\= Good The Traveler has already shown it will Ditch or Abandon a Civilization for another. That was the whole reason for WQ. Light =\= Good Your Argument is Flawed.

How do you rationalize the traveler giving savathun the light then?
-
4 RisposteGood" and "evil" are nothing but the most subjective value judgements humans attribute to certain thoughts, feelings and emotions, for the sake of giving a sense of direction to their own lives and being able to judge others.
-
2 RisposteNeither are really good or bad.
-
The darkness is a power. How you use it is up to you.

I would direct you to the flavor text from the Prophecy Dungeon Daito armor, the Hunter set in particular.

4 RisposteThe phrase “ the light between light and dark is so very thin” is referring to what the light and darkness are at their core. They are both just weapons for whoever has them to use as they see fit. Guardians are able to use both the light and the dark for good. The warlords were granted the light, but they were terrible people. Savathun and the lucent hive were granted the light as well, and the hive aren’t usually seen as a kind and righteous race lol. Ever since savalthun was granted the light, the true intentions of the traveler has become even more unknowable than before, so we can’t really make the conclusion that the traveler is “good”. The witness says isn’t necessarily “evil” either, although it kind of depends on how you look at it. From what I recall, the witness just doesn’t want anymore pointless suffering, which is why the witness wants all the weaker life to die out. “It’s going to die out anyway, so why not speed up the process.” That probably what the witness is thinking anyway. But that’s just my take on the matter.
