D2 was created to use windows only on the PC (and the console version of windows on the XB) and no other OS. Trying to use any other OS will fail and trying to force the game to work by using programs like Wine will result in a ban.

  • That isn't what they were asking.... You seem to forget that playstation uses nothing like windows, and stadia is entirely linux based. What this person was asking is that if Bungie will enable linux support now that the anti-cheat has official support on linux and works fully. They aren't creating a new version of the game, simply toggling an option inside of the anti-cheat, which according to BattlEye is very simple. They aren't spending any development time, as it is literally just enabling the anti-cheat option. I don't understand why the Destiny community seems to always be so hostile towards Linux. It's not like cheaters aren't already a thing, and not only that but the whole point of this is to enable the anti-cheat on linux so that would prevent cheating. It would be no different than on pc

  • Then play using Staida. The Stadia version was created by Stadia themselves as they wanted D2 as a launch title.

  • This is factually incorrect. A Bungie employee (since 2012) named Nick Heikkila led a team who ported D2 to Stadia. source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEQkPe-H05I
