You’re right. That’s what I’m doing lately. I had taken an almost 2 years break from the game. Before coming back for the menagerie. I am actually slowly but surely quitting the game again. What I may have been trying to say is that there is no real middle ground with Destiny. 90% of the content is way too easy and kinda boring, only time consuming (run run hold square kill adds, run run hold square kill boss). We have a great arsenal, but nothing to really use it on. Anything can do for that 90%. As such, the concept of “build” in destiny is kinda ridiculous. There is no such thing as builds. Having everyone run a meta of weapon and stats is no build. Using a specific exotic is no build. Thus my reply to op about him having a point regarding the lack of need of any “special” weapon. In fact, the only reason we mostly try to earn them is for envy reasons (read showing off to other friends or even worse randoms), not to successfully complete said activities. I find that to be destiny’s finality, sadly. Something I don’t feel with other games. As years have passed, most aspects of this game are rather sociological and pathological or the like addiction enhancers, rather than fun and communitarian (in the good sense). I wish it was more. It has the potential to be. Management is the issue. Unfortunately it seems to be heading more and more towards cash cowing rather than star.

  • It has a lot of potential, yes. But Bungie doesn't really know if it wants to cater to hardcore or casual players, PVE or PVP and it's a big weird mix. But that mix brings the players. If it would cater to only one part of the community it would be less popular. But I think they are going into the right direction in some aspects. For example raids getting another difficulty level in the future. I mean the management isn't perfect, that's very true. With the new lead maybe it will go into the right direction again.

  • I hope you’re right. This game would die if pve and pvp were not included. I want to trust your expectations that hard difficulty will make raids more interesting. However imho and as a D1 raid die harder, I don’t know if it will be enough, as long as players can enter new raids above the recommended power level. I still remember beating that VOG hard. Bruh that was some crazy souvenir and challenge. I mean even as D1 ended most over powered players who btw today pretend it was easy were still doing the oracles from above, pushing the Templar off the map without ever stopping his TP legit and getting that extra chest, and finally cheesing Atheon. Like those who called Crota easy and never ran through the abyss, built the bridge or were using the disconnect trick at the boss!
