I doubt it was removed the issue goes all the way back to when the quest first dropped almost 3 YEARS ago. For the first few days completing the quest didn't unlock the weapon in collections but as it was hidden unless it unlocked that didn't stop you completing the badge and quest. Bungie fixed it for completions after that but never did anything about those affected by it not unlocking if they had already done the quest and deleted the weapon. When Beyond Light dropped it made the gun visible so suddenly your badges show incomplete and you can see the not unlocked gun in collections. Sadly all you will get is the aware and investigating response but they have been 'aware' for 3 YEARS and done nothing and its been swept into the pile of forgotten know issues likely never to be fixed. Its most annoying as it really should be nothing more than a one line database query and variable update that should take all of 30 seconds to deal with but 3 YEARS and counting so far...
