Bungie gives purpose
Community “screaming”
I think the big problem is how loose the term reissuing is. If they bring back a gun with new and even unique perks it might as well be a different weapon the only problem is it looks the same? As something we had a year+ ago? Not worth complaining over.
people just can’t understand you can’t have your cake and eat it too. In a perfect word we get brand new weapons and perks every season. But I’m reality we can’t get new perks and new gun models and have them be of each archetype. Not practical.
This season will give REASON to do these activities. This isn’t a major dlc and is not massive we can’t get everything. Old activities will be rewarding again adding more content is that not good enough?

Have your cake and eat it too.............yeah due to Bungie's astonishing oversights. The problem isn't the weapons being re issued.........it's the forced re grind if you want to use your old weapon again. Which isn't right.
-
Would you rather just being able to use the weapons at all? We are lucky they are letting us even grind them back and they will have new and unique perk rolls
-
Would you rather just being able to use the weapons at all? I don't see how difficult it is for them to refresh the power cap on the original weapon and re issue it for anyone new into the system. Give Bungie an inch, they'll rob you for a mile.

This may be complicated but try to keep up. They want to give players a reason or necessity to actually farm new gear. Or else players will get their 1 favourite gun and never farm or grind for another one because they already have “their” gun. Well that’s not good for business

Well that’s not good for business
So give them a reason that fits. Not one that does the opposite. It ain't good for business if your players are done with your bad practices. I have neither reason nor necessity to re farm what I already farmed for. As I've stated before. They've done this to give forsaken back some meaning since it's a paid DLC still. But that ain't fair on anyone who already paid and farmed the DLC.

I don’t think you understand a big part of these games is replaying the same content and farming. And the bottom line is either we get the planets redone this way or we don’t get them redone at all because it would take too much effort to make an entire new set of gear for two planets to be just done for “free if you already own them”. Would you farm for a “new” auto rifle that has the exact same perk rolls as your old one?

Even when it's re branded as new (which it's not). Oh it ain't free entirely. You're still spending time re grinding what you already had. We were told we'd get new and exciting loot.......which Bungie have poorly delivered on.

No but the gun has a new name it just has all the same perks so it functions the same. But it has a new name and look it only plays the same would you rather that? Or a gun that looks the same but plays different with new perks? It’s a free update for paid content.

Now the purpose is just

"Reacquire some of the stuff we took from you"

That's not going to satisfy anyone. It won't satisfy anyone who spend months and months looking for a roll of Premonition that they liked. Being told you have to do it again is not a victory of any kind. Being told we CAN still do it is something actually offering some satisfaction. As in, the rolls we have are useful. And we can go to the destinations for new useful rolls and weapons alongside the year three ones. ... What people are being given here is a way to fulfil the "artificially inflating play time with zero content" part of Sunsetting. Shocking/s that people that had their efforts made worthless by Bungie are not thrilled at rlrepeating the effort again for year 4...then again for year 5.

1st of all dreaming and city and moon DID have purpose originally. 2) nothing they are doing with the moon and dreaming city was ever taken away 3) they didn’t go into your inventory and remove your guns so you still have the rolls you worked for but now you can farm for the gun you love but with new perks and new rolls. 4) these activities will now be worth doing and we will be rewarded with new perk rolls for weapons and the reward systems have changed to be more beneficial in some ways 5) the playtime isn’t artificial when it’s like this. This is reissuing done right revamping the activities and loot with new perk options and unique rolls is exactly how it should be done. Would have fathered them do nothing to these planets? Because that’s the option we either get this or the planet stays obsolete
-
For anyone new to the game this is good news. For anyone who's done this all before this is a slap in the face. They might as well have taken the guns out of our inventories since that's pretty much what they've done here. You're telling me it's okay to say "If you want to have the same gun with a longer lifespan sorry but you gotta go re grind it" is fine? Awful logic. It's very artificial. But I'm just not under the illusion that it's good. When they could've simply given their veteran players the option to pull their originals to the new cap.
-
No don’t say they might as well have removed or destroyed our guns because they haven’t and they haven’t even done anything close to that we can still use the guns anytime we want to. I’m saying it’s ok to say “oh you want your favourite gun again well then go grind for the ability to use it in endgame again.” I compare this to the system in destiny 1 where you needed a specific resource to upgrade weapons to be useable in the next level cap Content. We have to accept that sunsetting is a thing. So would you rather not have your weapon or have the ability and reason to play a revamped activity for an upgraded version of one of your favourite guns with new perk options? Destiny 2 players want things handed to them sometimes you have to actually play and earn things. You want your guns to just go to the new cap but you know the problem with that. It doesn’t give you a reason to play and farm which is a key part of this game
-
I'd rather they have deleted it completely and never re issued it in the first place if I'm forced into re grinding it to just give it a longer lifespan. I accepted sunsetting was needed. What I'm not accepting is how Bungie are implementing it. Yes I want my guns to go to the new cap. So I can actually go take them to the content that matters. I played the content already and I got what I wanted already. Oh and sometimes a new perk isn't necessarily an upgrade. If they wanted me to go play Dreaming City again for example.........do something to entice me to play, because it's not engaging anymore. I repeat myself. They might as well have deleted my guns for me. That's truly how it feels.

Is revamping weapons with new perks not enticing? Is farming legend lost sectors not enticing? Is guaranteed armour stat rolls not enticing? What would have been enticing for you then? So you would rather them just delete the guns then still be able to use your old ones and have the opportunity to use them in high level content again? That seems really weird. How does this system hurt anyone more than not having the weapons at all? Please answer that last two questions

How does this system hurt anyone more than not having the weapons at all? Please answer that last two questions
1) No - The reissue is primarily for new people with the sole purpose to reward them with forsaken loot (which veterans already farmed for). 2) No - Majority of exotics are awful but that's a very personal take. If I needed new dunemarchers / transversive steps / stompees sure it's enticing. But it really isn't since I don't need to farm right now. 3) Two things to make it enticing for me. - New and worthwhile loot, a change of scenery (refer to evolving world). 4) Yes I would rather they delete them, than have them invalidate all the time I spent originally because their system for drops was awful at one point. 5) Sunsetting can work but here's where the other problems come out. - Re issues mean rendering sunsetting pointless doing. Why take away in the first place to give it back later? It's artificial grind. That's not new, it's old with a new lick of paint. It doesn't hurt new players, it just slaps old and veteran players in the face with a sledgehammer that's on fire.
-
1) i as a veteran player plan on re farming my favourite weapons with thresh and one for all so they can be even better. I’m not farming the same thing I’m farming for upgrades which we all do. We all farm for better rolls so that’s how I see this. 2) many exotics are bad imo but the game is heavily based upon farming exotics with better stats so more options to do that is great 3) that’s entirely personal but I totally get that it’s unfortunate that stuff is hard to do for “free” 4) how is your time invalidated? Did they take away your gun you farmed for no they didn’t and they didn’t give them out for free anyone who wants one will have to farm just like you did and will actually only be able to use it for less time than you could have had with your original one 5) it’s so they can help against power creep and so that they can “remove” perks from the meta. Sunsetting allows them to move away from reload damage perk meta
-
1) Then you're giving them the go ahead to just not make anything worthwhile. Your choice and that's okay. 2) Not worth farming anymore once you get what you want. But that's fine always someone wanting to farm them. 4) They might as well have taken it away from me since it's not usable in content I do. So I farm what's completely new and avoid anything old that's apparently "re branded", preventing my time being invalidated, re issues invalidate my time entirely. I deleted a massive amount of old loot to reinforce myself to farm only the brand new. 5) Power creep goes out the window.......btw the rolls I did have where opening shot / snapshot on the weapon I originally had. Dmg and reload perks felt meh to me anyway. But tbh those perks weren't the major problem. Pinnacle perks were.

Looks like you just don’t like destiny anymore that’s tpugh
Looks like you just don’t like destiny anymore that’s tpugh
I don't like how they're implementing sun setting. I am of two minds at the moment. I'm fatigued from playing a lot. But I'm also not about to let Bungie go un accounted for their mistakes/ shortcomings. I spent 2000 hours almost on the game, pushed on even when my original clan died off. Even enjoyed every aspect of the game (gambit included). Sunsetting hasn't solely pushed me away from Destiny. It's a multi facet of issues that have pulled down my playtime to almost zero. I made this post on a whim that it might get heard and still feel like I'm peeing in the wind. But at least I tried.

And they will be worthless again. 🤷🏿♂️ The content in this game ain't good enough for the loot to be worthless.

The loot won’t be useless to many players I don’t know why you are so adamant it’s useless there were a few good ones. And the armour reward changes will be a great addition

Actually the saying goes "You can't eat your cake and have it too" not the other way around. Just a little English grammar for the resident troll. 😂

Not even a bait it’s my honest opinion that’s the best part
