I thought Armor 2.0 was gonna be...

like this: 1) A universal armor system where any mod could be applied to any armor piece anywhere at anytime. No restrictions on build-crafting (within reason, like not unlimited mods on 1 armor piece obviously). 2) A universal ornament system for every armor piece in the game - i.e. make any piece of gear look like any other piece of gear. This would make old Y1 armor sets at least usable in some fashion (pun?). 3) An incentive to farm higher difficulty activities for the chance of getting higher tier stat rolls. You would farm more armor solely for the purposes of better stats in certain areas. What we ACTUALLY got was: 1) An armor system that is even more restrictive than the previous version, due to needing high stat rolls in the areas you want (+1 RNG), needing armor with high stat rolls period (+2 RNG), needing the corresponding elemental affinity for each piece (+3 RNG), & needing all of them together at the same time (+way too much RNG). There isn't even any kind of way/consumable that increases the likelihood or percentage of getting armor to drop with certain stats. And, you sometimes have less mods on armor 2.0 pieces than you did in Y2 armor! 2) The need to re-farm certain Y1 armor sets, like Escalation Protocol or whatever faction sets you want, ON TOP OF all the previously stated RNG requirements. 3) High level activities that drop super low level gear. Who wants to farm the dungeon when the masterworked armor is MASTERWORKED at 60 (which means base 48), not at least BASE 60? 4) The need to re-farm your ENTIRE armor set EACH season because the new mods are only available on each season's sets. I mean, come on Bungie. You can do better than this.

Your entire post, as well as your outlook on the game is so one dimensional it's not even funny. Everyone that hated Y1, can place the blame on individuals like you for giving shit feedback based on emotions. First of all, armor 2.0 is absolutely badass, and unbelievably customizable. You complained about not having enough loot to grind for? Here ya go, here's 3 sets per character to grind for. Don't wanna grind for 3 sets, because it's too hard, can't play what I want, yada yada yada? Okay, here's universal mods to go on any armor affinity...so you literally only need 1 set if 3 is too hard/time consuming...but that's too difficult. Then you wanna complain about low stat rolls on the "dungeon", which I'm assuming you mean PoH. Coincidentally, that probably means that you're also part of the "masterworking is too expensive" crowd. How about you be smart with your time investment? Every week, you DISMANTLE the Pit drops. OMG. I know. It's Earth shattering. You can solo the dungeon if no one's online. Know what's faster? Grabbing people off the forums. That dungeon is a joke with 3 people. Get to the last boss, rotate the checkpoint to all 3 characters, boom, 18 prisms or basically 2 ascendants perk week for 40 mins of work. Which also means that you can masterwork TWO non-exotic pieces of gear per week, instead of just getting the 1 drop from the dungeon. You can't get much more efficient than that. Then let's complain about the artifact. HOLY HELL it resets. No shit. It's a SEASONAL artifact. And the artifact mods rotate. Almost like the strategies to your one dimensional playstyle might shift a little bit IF YOU SO CHOOSE. My God...what a horrific thing...change is BAD! OR...you can NOT use them..that's weird...CHOICES ARE BAD! If you don't wanna farm a new set for the new mods, then don't. The new mods aren't game breaking...they DO have a trade off. Your entire argument for Power level resetting is completely void because the activities themselves didn't go up. Master NF is STILL 980. But now, your BASE power level is 960, instead of 950. So it's actually EASIER to complete the 980 content. And it'll be even easier NEXT season...man...it's almost like...like...you're an idiot.

I don’t think it’s that bad, but it can be very time consuming building an exact perk combo.
Sorry, all out of salt.
• Problem #1 Game dictates that you must basically use the Season Pass armor sets to enjoy the game. Problem #2 Character level is now controlled by an artifact, that is retired at the end of the season. Perks granted from this artifact also retire at the end of the season, creating a rift where all progress and hard work, is erased, in an effort to make it difficult for players to enjoy the game during a season change. Problem #3 Finally having a build worth settling on, is something that people take pride in. By deploying these changes on a seasonal cycle, the game now feels nonchalant. Problem #4 The power cap, and the means to earn better gear, is now tied to a factor that can only be seen as no-lifing. The game used to have a cap that everyone that simply played the game could reach. Now players must do SPECIFIC things in order to progress past the soft cap. Most of these things require playing the game with other people. (The majority of clanmates have decided to stop playing Destiny, most of which I have known for nearly 2 decades) This creates a choice where I have to decide between enjoying the game the way that I have in the past, or abandoning my friends that I have known for nearly 20 years. Problem #5 Inflating the assumption of content, by increasing the amount of steps required to enjoy the game. There is 3 years of content in this game. Simply fleshing out parts of the game, by making the older parts more accessible, would allow for more of the fanbase to enjoy closer to 100% of the game. I have not completed a single raid in this game, nor have I gotten the Whisper of the Worm, due to the fact that the game has increased the difficulty of these events, so that they remain too much of a challenge for casual players to tackle. (When people attempt to be the first team to finish a raid when it launches, it typically has taken teams around 4 hours at the least.) Most casual players will never finish a single raid at any point. This was not the case in Destiny 1, where the raids never scaled up. At this point in the game, the Leviathan should feel like a public event, but instead it remains too punishing for casuals. I don't think of myself as a hardcore player, but I am definitely not a weekend warrior. I have over 1700 hours into destiny 2, and had over 2700 hours in Destiny 1. Not completing a raid or Whisper of the Worm quest, seems like it should be my fault. The truth is that it is not my fault, regardless of how you see it. I am capable of completing these things solo, due to my knowledge of the series and my ability. The blame lies squarely on the development of the game, forcing specific things to be done with players that might not have the same skill set, time, or patience. Thanks Bungie, for building a world that is chock full of NICHE elements, that only a very specific type of player can enjoy all of it.

          • I'm not even going to bother with the new armour... The opulence armour and the 2.0 setup I actually liked but do all that work cause let's face its work.. Work to get the armour u lik with the perks and mods etc only to have to restart all basically over within 3 months... That's is stupid and a complete lack of vision... I'm just gonna use the armour I have been using that literally better than u can get now anyway with of exception of pinnacles they might b better but I bet u dnt get 80 rolls after masterwork now.. So this is a simple time suck that u never gain on... It's just a cyclical 3month time suck that's it... And who the flock thought that this dawning event using any easy bake oven to pad ur planetary visit numbers is utter embarrassment... Kill certain enemy bake a treat take specific treat some some clown on this planet isn't what I would riveting game play n any sense... It does make any damn sense as to why a looter shooter has a complete event that had not one damn thing to do with shooting enemies... Sick of the dumshit.. Sick of everything good is locked behind eververse which is an absolute plague to this game

          • Armor 2.0 is a very easy way for Bungie to manage new content without worrying about increasing power caps significantly or developing harder end game content. The multiple layers of RNG tied to Armor 2.0 provide the new “end game” chase. On top of trying to not only get high stat/desired rolls/appropriate affinity drops, new artifacts are now used/required in order to play seasonal content. Bungie does not have to develop new/harder/challenging end game content now because we are essentially weakened through armor restrictions. The seasons revolve around the artifact mods and grinding out new armor tied to the season. All Bungie has done is essentially put modifiers/burns/singes on seasons and called it a day. Sure you can use last seasons armor...but good luck with that next season.

            • 5) Bungie told us the solstice armor we farmed for would be given to us as an armor 2.0 set and gave it to us with low rolls, set elemental affinity, no re-reolls, etc. They conveniently left out the bit where there's no point trying to farm to get this shit since we'd ever use it. Last I checked, I'm pretty sure that leaving important info out is lying by omission. Bungie, lie? Never.

            • Also they should change the stat distribution to work in steps of 5. There are so many useless stat points in your gear. Or calculate the final CD or percentage buff in steps from 1-100. And of course get rid of the stupid elements. The mod types are already tied to armor type so i dont know what imbalanced combination could come out from it ? The mod cost already limits thing on top of that. I like the armor 2.0 idea but the implementation is horrible. Its like 3 steps back from 1.0. Also the new season of dawn mods are fail. Its ok the dev team balanced the mod cost around level 10 masterworked armors which they created with a single code line. No thanks i pass just the farming for experimenting with the mods.

            • Armor 2.0 should have been the return of Tier 12 armor builds with reusable mods. Mobility, Armor, and Recovery adjustments belong in the skill tree like they were in D1.

            • I made a suggestion recently that I think would solve all problems with armour 2.0: Keep two tiers of armour, low tier rolls can start at 0 (instead of 2) in each stat, high tier have +2 to all stats (like a masterwork does). When dismantling high tier armour, give a chance to drop an upgrade shard that converts low tier into high tier by adding +2 to all stats. It also adds / changes the seasonal mod slot (e.g. Undying Armour Shard from GoS armour). This solves all problems: 1) We have a higher potential pool of desirable rolls to choose from (a bit less idiotic trolly RNG) 2) "Normal" armour rewards are not always shard trash, but potentially a good base for upgrading 3) We still need to do end game activities that Bungie selects for us to get high tier armour 4) We can potentially even farm for specific armour we like cosmetically, then upgrade it 5) Armour we invested in is no longer wasted if we want to put new seasonal mods in Bungie can easily control how grindy this is through the chance of getting the material, the RNG is more predictable / fair, we have more agency, more personal goals to strive for and we restore some value to all activities and rewards throughout the game.

I've spent 4 months trying to get a new armamentarium finally get 1 today void element and the stats are somehow worse than the original. They want to make us redo that stupid ass quest for iron banner in order to allow us to get the armor from that. There's only 1 iron banner this season. Can someone tell me why the -blam!- people should continue playing this shit. I quit for over year about to happen again Bungie I've just about had it. Friends are already gone so no pennacles for me this season. If it takes another 4 months to get the exotic I need only for it to roll like absolute shit again why should I bother or care? I would have been better off not getting the armamentarium drop at all then getting the garbage I got void massive mobility massive strength garbage. For the record The only reason I decided to stay when all my friends left this time was the saint14 rescue and random rolls on the perfect paradox. That is literally it good luck finding that combo next season to keep me in this crap. Unless something seriously changes I'm going to be out.

              • The lack of universal ornaments actually made me skip almost all of the last season... Alot of the pieces of my old looks STILL Aren't available. For example I'm still missing Iron Symmachy helmet, and somehow I doubt it will be back until next season. If you ask me this was the greatest sin of Armor 2.0. I would have been fine grinding out new gear, but to take away the style I spent 2 years crafting AND to offer no viable way to get it back, -blam!-ing insulting.

                    • It’s close to what I was hoping. I just wish the elements would make certain ones cheaper but still universal. Like if I had void arms and were using a hand cannon and a shot gun. The hand cannon loaders would be like a point cheaper and the shotgun loader would be normal. I know they got general mods but they cost too much to make up for this, typically taking half the energy cost on a masterworked piece of armor.
