I made a post saying I wasn't fond of the mechanics for the last word quest.
That feedback seems to have been heard so it's only fair I make a post to say that the quest for thorn is good in my opinion.
There are multiple methods to progress steps depending on your preference and when you have to go into the crucible, there isn't an penalty.
Thanks for this Bungie
Speaking from experience with my last post let me say. This is my opinion and my feedback. This is the forum for it and I'm entitled to post here.
If you disagree that's fine, you're allowed to, but don't whine and say I'm wrong, make your own post with your own feedback. Thanks 🙂

Really I got to this void kills part and it's progressing slowly because it's so hard to get a kill as it's always an assist and that don't count for the progress. It's horrible. Void hand cannons? There is only 2 that i know of orchid and ikelos. Orchid I find is too slow and the recoil is brutal and the ikelos feels underpowered. Even when I get a kill with a void hand cannon also in it on banner I'm getting 1% per kill. Is it broke or something it says get void energy kills, yep. Void hand cannon kills, yep. Iron banner, yep. Progress 1% so if I just used a hand cannon in quickly what I only get like 0.1.1.1%. So if it keeps going as it I'm getting around 7% per IB match that's 15 matches that's stupid. Thorns not even that good I won't use it just like the Izanagis burden all that grinding for something I won't use. I just want it for the collection. Same as TLW I hate that gun as I don't play PvP. Personally I hate PvP as it's always full of cheaters or players who spend every day playing only PvP. At the moment I'm using ikelos HC and getting around 7 kills because people keep stealing my kills. Also when did sentinal shield bash take 2 hits to kill in PvP

I can’t stand this quest. It’s a tedious slog. The pvp portion of thorn is way worse than trust. If you got partial credit for assists it would have been so much more tolerable. I hate the crucible. I’m so tired of being forced to play it. When does Sekiro come out?
-
This game used to have challenging quest that you couldn’t get if you were a scrub but they neutered it for the snowflakes
-
As someone with nervous system damage I expect to suck at PvP. I very rarely play it. When I heard that everyone could get thorn and say how the quest had alternate ways to complete I got excited. Now at the void part not only is it going to take me over a hundred games. If I want any real shot I am forced to do comp which I avoid out of respect for better pvpers. This is nearly enough to make me quit though. Now not one but to highly sought after hand cannons are lickwd behind a wall that I may not be able to climb. I think it is stupid to force people to play something they either can't do well or do not like. I'm trting to slog through to get thorn but I'm on the verge of saying the he'll with this game. It's really disheartning to anyone who may have the same or similar issues.

3 RisposteThe strike needs matchmaking as me and my friends that i play with are not always on at the same time and it makes it pretty hard for solo players to do the strike in the long run so much for them making all that hype for more activities having matchmaking
-
21 RisposteI just don’t understand why didn’t they gave us 3 options for the last part. I hate PVP with passion and the progress is painfully slow.

Modificato da Darth Lunchbox: 3/16/2019 4:31:45 AMI'm on the void kills step in crucible, what percentage do you get for kills? It seems like .5% per kill or something, it feels like its taking forever. Too bad they didn't do multiple avenues for this step like they did the others. And apparently there is no matchmaking on the final step with the strike, that is truly disheartening.
-
2 RisposteIf Matchmaking was better the Crucible part wouldn't such a pain imo. But keep getting crap matches where guys insta kill me. What is the point of playing something that is so unenjoyable? I know even if I do get better it won't be more enjoyable. I play a game for fun this isn't fun.
-
The points part. Far too excessive tbh. Plus having to limit yourself to a specific load out to increase efficiency for the progress. The popular choice is the Ikelos hand cannon but it's far to clunky and it's profile kinda -blam!-s with you.
-
1 RispondiIt is good, as a pvp player i just dont care about the quest step and the gun. But i picked up the quest atleast. After a comp session it was perhaps fully finished XD (all steps)

6 RisposteIt's too dang long It's grindy for the sake of being grindy Too casual in order for it to be accessible to noobs

15 RisposteModificato da $hirtless Captain Kirk: 3/13/2019 4:11:09 PMThe only part I hated was the void part and NOT because it required PVP, but it requires most players to basically use 1 of 2 hand cannons; Ikelos Hand Cannon, Kindled Orchid. (Cold sweat is very rare) Both are shitbag hand cannons and I FN hate them both I hated the step in D1 as well. Makes no sense to me. The weapon isn't even void, like wtf? I'm sure it's tied to some stupid nonsensical lore tab, but who knows or cares. Love Thorn though. Cool version this time around.
-
2 RisposteOnly way to get people to play PvP,by giving us back a weapon we already owned.
-
6 RisposteModificato da Viguier: 3/13/2019 12:18:19 AMThe first parts are clever but the void part of the quest is just terrible, 10 times harder than The Last Word quest. Assist does not count, void revolver kills gives less than 1 %! With less 5 % per games, it means it requires 20/25 games against 4/5 for The Last Word. Wich represents 3 to 4 hours of crucicle without the loadings...
-
Anything void counts. Void pulses, autos, shotties, and etc. Go with what you're good with. Progress may not be made as fast as void hand cannons, but it's easier to get kills with what you're used too. Thus it's almost as fast.
-
There are multiple methods to progress steps depending on your preference and when you have to go into the crucible, there isn't an penalty.
Now that is a positive statement. I like the idea of having more than one path to get a quest done. They probably grudgingly did it, since they generally seem to frown on players having choices.
-
4 RisposteReally pointed out how bad the game balance is... The warlock kills step took me on and a half games. The hunter kills, about one and a half games, Titan kills, like 4 or 5 games because there were rarely any titans in my lobbies, at most like 2 or 3, half of which ended up on my team.... Hell I even joined in progress, on the worst map in game(citadel) only to see a roster with 0 titans.... Woot
-
2 RisposteNot gonna lie I had a lot of fun dusting off the ikelos hc and going into crucible with it
-
6 RisposteI'm on the step "weaponize the unknown" can you use void supers or it has to be void energy/special weapons??
-
We're actually also allowed to whine and say you're wrong and not make our own posts if we so wish. You're right: you do sound entitled.
-
-
The void kills are the true test of grind. 89% and loving it
-
I agree it's cool they gave you options to progress, I love PVP so I just went in and have been progressing that way which I think is MUCH faster. Completing a tier III blind well w/ an unstable charge only gives 10 while each "specific" guardian kill gives 3. With Comp I recommend going in with a team or at least one other person so y'all can have each other's backs. :)
-
2 RisposteOnly thing i dont like is Bungies tiredless efforts of putting non matchmade strikes in the quest steps. Just make it optional. Wanna go i with your own team, fine. Wanna take your chances with a random team, go a head. Its a strike! Not a raid puzzle that requires non stop teamwork and comunication. At least Anthem did that part right.

I like the LW quest more. This one was just time consuming. Last word, 3 and a half hours to compete. Thorn, 5-5.5 hours to complete. Granted I did accidentally discard the quest during the void step setting me back half an hour but still longer.
