So after watching the new video about Season of the Drifter I am feeling pretty concerned about this content update. With the introduction of Gambit Prime (the new sweatier version), and the new pve activity tied with it The Reckoning, Im curious what is there to do if you arent in to gambit? Im worried that old gambit will be irrelevant as is every piece of old content with new dlc drops. Im feeling all there is for me to do is go for the new pinnacle pvp weapon and the Thorn quest.
It seems like in the video Bungie was hinting "If you dont like Gambit, sorry. We'll hit you up next dlc. If you bought the season pass, sorry." Just seems all their motes are banked in to players loving this new activity and only playing these new activities that have ONLY gambit in mind. Throughout the month on their roadmap we just see new Gambit Prime additions and Reckoning additions, but if you arent a fan then it seems that section of the community is left behind. Just wondering what there is to do besides Gambit Prime/Reckoning.
Where is Jokers Wild? Season of the Drifter is for everyone, people who paid for the season pass for Jokers Wild is gone.
As a main pvp player I would really like to see more resources going towards fixing pvp. Pve seems to be missing the mark as far as content goes lately and over 80% of your game is irrelevant unless you're doing milestones. Please dont leave pvp behind, for some of us its the only thing keeping us here and a crucial part of the community.
Whats your opinion?

I don't play gambit. This season doesn't look like it has anything for me. I'll show them my "seasonal pass" by passing on this. I don't like hand cannons, yet there's another hand-cannon exotic quest. Bummer(granted it's not like I'd do any other weapon-type exotic quest if it required gambit or crucible.) Legendary rocket and grenade launchers are getting buffed in PvE to make non-exotic power weapons more useful. Looks like they also forgot swords are a power weapon as well, and in a pretty sorry state for a number of reasons(high risk of death, cumbersome/taxing guard mechanic, lack of variety in archetypes/traits, inability to get precision hits, wonky lunging, both exotics being PvP oriented, etc....) Looks like I'm stuck spamming strikes and forges. Occasional nightfall when my friends get on. I guess xur bounties and new cosmetics are neat, though. Got a lot of bright dust stocked up. Kind of sad they're removing the prismatic matrix by virtue of probably removing the weekly bounty that goes with it as well.

5 RisposteBungie banked on the community loving Gambit well before Forsaken released. By now we're all jaded on it to the point where this DLC seems like a slough. They've made an error and are doubling down on it because it's too late to change it otherwise.
-
I am stoked. I didn't like black armoury forges. There was just something that didn't turn my crank. To your point, there should be a season dedicated to PVP. It's not my jam. But when ROI came out, I grinder to rank 5. Perhaps they will come up with a crucible prime mode. Armour sets that unlock perks. Having true sight in crucible or even better cold blooded would completely change the game. Sure it would be a more COD style of PVP, but there is potential for a lot of fun. Sadly from all the hints that will not come next season. Bump to the post because it is relate to.

I feel like that they are focusing on one thing at a time. They saw that gambit could be more, so they added more. They are going with what has the most potential. (And also, gambits not that bad, just get a pvp player on your team to invade and deal with invaders, and your fine)

5 RisposteIt’s just more of the same rigidness that we’ve seen. They continue to heavily dictate player experiences as they try to force feed the entire experience to everyone despite how different the many activities the game offers are. For it not being all about Gambit they sure do mention Gambit a lot, didn’t they? And we have yet ANOTHER PvE activity with a timer. Is that the only way they know how to impose challenge? They insist on this impractical PvE/PvP blend and the ways that they make things challenging also make them annoying. Really wish I’d didn’t get the annual pass.
-
I feel the same way, and ironically I'm a PVE player. Gambit is neither PVE nor PVP.
-
2 RisposteThe last time i checked it was called season of the drifter for a reason, this fits more along the lines of "season of yet another timed competitive pvevp mode" im tired of it and i really wish there was story coming back into the game, i didnt expect to see destiny become another waste of people's time consisting only of matches and no plot. Sorry guys but it looks like im not gonna be playing longer until some actual story comes out...and i was really looking forward to this particular season too...

11 RisposteModificato da Why is this happening?: 3/2/2019 6:29:23 AMI mean...it's called Season of the Drifter. What the -blam!- were you expecting, exactly? Also, -blam!- PvP.
-
1 RispondiI'll try out the new content, but the you might be right and I might only be invested in the new pinnacle PVE weapon and Thorn. Frankly, that's ok with me. I'll spend the rest of my time trying to finish up rivensbane and cursebreaker. I'm really looking forward to penumbra, and if the content for 2 out of 3 seasons interests me than I'm ok with that.
-
7 RisposteHere is my main concern. They describe Prime as a sweatier version of Gambit. Okay. People haven't figure out how to activate blight heroic public event, some blind well heroic mechanics, or how to charge the relic in a -blam!-ing strike yet, let alone play gambit efficiently and now Bungie wants a sweatier, more specialized version of Gambit? Lmao. This is gonna be the same. Potato guardians serving as cannon fodder for streamers and sweaties, until everyone other than streamers and sweaties just rage quits. I bet they tied progression to winning matches, while losing slows progress, right?

2 RisposteModificato da OnlineDude2095: 3/2/2019 1:33:23 AMWaste of a season for me. Never cared or played the original gambit and don't care, wont play this sweatier version or the pve mode tied behind. I'll just log in to raise my light, collect whatever pve exotics i can and just wait for the next season. Really hoping that other exotic quest is pve only. I mean it's fine I knew it was gonna be a waste of 10$ but it's fine. I enjoyed the forges so it's all good.

8 Risposteyeah i am happy to sit this one out... don't care for gambit. and another pve mode WITH A TIMER...no thanks...
-
Won't judge it until I play it. I do hope they use this season to address the anti-player aspects of the game. We'll see.
-
I’ll take my 33 army of ones elsewhere
-
4 RisposteThey're shaping Destiny to be more in-line in what their core community wants... Guess I can consider myself not to be part of that core community. Here's hoping that Invitations of the Nine and The Allegiance quest are separate activities from Gambit Prime / Reckoning or being able to visit the Drifter's ship.

5 RisposteI’m also hoping for more than just Gambit. If that’s going to be the main course of the season, I’m going to be starving.
-
Modificato da mja calg: 3/2/2019 1:50:54 AMIf you don't want to play Laggy Inconsistent Gambit, well then Destiny will be as dead to you as it will be for me. This is nothing more than a stall with minimal effort involved. Picking the low hanging (rotten) fruit from the creative tree.
-
More like, If You Don't Like The Game, Sorry.
-
4 RisposteI loved the part where they stated that the community asked for Private matches in Gambit. So we are getting them. WHAT, REALLY? Who in their mind would ever ask for a dull private match of Gambit. I’d love to see any poll that shows private matches for Gambit as a hit on a most wanted implementation list.
-
1 RispondiAs soon as they said gambit this and reckoning that i was like great more PVP bollocks. Does not interest me in the least . Where are the raids and the PVE story side of things or cant your writers create new content and thorn ffs sick of Playing D2 only to see yet another destiny exotic . this game is sliding downhill very fast indeed ...
-
5 Rispostethe DLC was probably already designed or even created by the time gambit launched during forsaken , back then bungie were probably convinced is the next best thing in online gaming the funny part , gambit is the worst part of destiny2 and making a whole DLC out of it is counterproductive destiny2 would be better off if gambit never even existed and all the related efforts went into creating a few extra strikes and/or raids
-
I've been a huge PVE fan since I started D2. I was loving gambit at first, but now ONLY play it to help friends get weapons. Even with the new update coming, it has zero appeal. I've switched to PvP, quick play and comp, so much more exciting! Did my broadsword and lunas this season. Only things left that are enjoyable, are raids and the occasional nightfall. The focus on Gambit is a huge failure.
-
7 RisposteI haven’t done @ single forge. Too boring and repetitive. I’m not keen on or good at, Gambit. Two thirds of the way into the season pass and I have yet to get anything from the money I spent. I wanted more story, new strikes. I got old weapons involving quests involving PvP (which I absolutely suck at) and content that’s really designed for clan players (and I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with clans). But there are other games to play..thankfully.
-
1 RispondiI agree this is a bit too heavy handed towards gambit. I feel if you’re not into gambit prime after that one match you are mandatorily made to do, this season will not have the value you want. Those who love gambit then welcome to your best dreams as for the other population of players they’re here for thorn maybe eververse stuff, and that’s it. It’s a bit unfortunate, I’m hoping reckoning will have its own weapons and armor. I hope that gambit prime sets of armor keep their chroma effect when you’re not in gambit prime otherwise you just have a better ancient apocalypse set.
