So, I jumped into D1 the other day, deleted my Titan and started playing. I had more fun running the original story, poking through my vault and pulling out old weapons then I have had in D2.... period. The guns in D1 just felt better, firefly actually worked, shots felt krisp, Exotics feel Exotic...... Why oh why did Bungie scrap everything in D1, I feel like D2 would have been SOOOOOOO much better if it simply continued from what we had. If you could keep 1 thing to bring from D1 to D2 what would it be? For me it was simply the guns... ok, not just the guns but how they felt, shot, damage they did... man I loved my Scout Rifles in D1.

13 RisposteTried it again, felt like a primitive version of D2 better left in the past. Was good in it's day, but a dinosaur now.
-
2 RispostePlayed D1 too a few days ago, it was boring and missed playing D2 It was good in it’s day, but it should stay in the past
-
Man I wish I didn’t sell my Xbone. I’d be whipping out my bad juju with a sniper :(

46 RisposteModificato da draycole: 2/19/2019 7:33:48 PMWhat you're experiencing isn't necessarily a case of D1 being better. Im willing to bet you have a ton of hours into D1. And as such D1 has that "home" feel to it. For those who didn't spend hundreds or thousands of hours in D1. To them, D1 and D2 are practically the same game. And for all intents and purposes.... They are. As a matter of fact D1 and D2 being too similar was one of the big complaints when D2 laucnhed. Some of the stuff you mentioned can be attributed to some changes like the field of view and a reduction of aim assist and even the sounds of the guns. But by and large with things like how the overrall dynamic of the game is played how much damage weapons do etc. Things are the same
So..... Why oh why did Bungie scrap everything in D1, I feel like D2 would have been SOOOOOOO much better if it simply continued from what we had.
For the fanboys yes But you need to remember how very few people enjoyed D1. And not everyone would be excited about its old worn out engine for the next 10 years

Yep, I went back this week as well. Fun old PVP maps.
-
I actually soloed this weeks nightfall on Destiny 1. Ps it’s the 320 light level version of the devil’s lair. Good times
-
Crota gear lit up with the ornaments! Best looking armor ever!
-
I miss the WOTM auto rifle. Wrecked in pve
-
17 RisposteProbably wanna take those nostalgia goggles off. D1 wasn't that good. Sorry.
-
firefly actually worked
What's wrong with dragonfly currently? It deals the same amount of damage as d1 firefly.
If you could keep 1 thing to bring from D1 to D2 what would it be?
I would choose The fourth horseman. It's the most underrated weapon in the series imo, and I feel like it could truly shine in d2 pve.

You should of seen it before all the nerfs and when Taken King removed all the broken rolls and legendary primary weapon burns.
-
I still jump on and play the raids that are better then destiny 2 raids.
-
D1 sandbox was balanced around controllers and console. Bungie is now balancing the game so that it feels better on PC so console sandbox is suffering from Bungie favoring Streamers.
-
D1 was perfect by Age of Triumph. All it was missing was ledge grab. The trade wasn’t worth it imho.

1 RispondiModificato da blade329: 2/20/2019 4:44:13 PMD2 just seems so backwards to me. It's like having a 70's Pinto with an $8000 paint job.

5 RisposteMy Hung Jury Scout with triple tap, extended mag and firefly. I still go back from time to time just to solo a nightfall with that thing!
-
The player movement on D1 is also lightyears ahead of D2.
-
3 RisposteAgree, only way to fix is scrap d2 if or when d3 arrives and get back on track, how bout d3 is prequel
-
Primary weapons actually felt like primary weapons
-
Every time I play D1, all I see is the things I miss like mantling and maps. It's a tradeoff of qol vs class customization for me. But I do want class speccing back... And better.
-
As a whole Destiny feels and plays a million times better than D2......but D2 can be played on PC and that makes a huge difference.Once you get used to 60 fps or more there's no turning back
-
I made that mistake...Didn't want to go back to D2.

16 RisposteYou can clearly tell there are two engines and two dev teams.(actually 4 teams, but I’ll return to this point) Engine B had team B and we got d2 due to this. D2 and bungie was in such a bad state, that activision had to move two teams to help bungie create and make content. Activision and bungie split... Which brings up the next interesting question. Activision loves money. Why did they split now? I mean, if bungie had a strong fall dlc planned.. why would the split happen before this? Couple this with the fact that activision had to open up two teams to help bungie make content for warmind, forsaken, and the annual pass... this tells me to be very worried about the state of this game. Is all lost? No, but I think we should all step back and realize that this game may be dead and bungie needs some time to piece together content from their creative roots.. and this takes a lot of time to do. At this point, let it end. My money is betting on the fact that bungie wanted to own the ip outright.. in order to sell the ip to activision, make lots of money and move on while letting activision take it over... but fell flat too soon and tanked the value of the game.

1 RispondiStill frustrating to catch the bottom half of your toes on a ledge and have to watch as you slide the entire way down it though...
-
I'd bring back ability that made my Ward of Dawn generate orbs when people shot it or hit it with a super. I find it so hard to use WoD without that.
-
5 RisposteYou missed the ledge mantle though didnt you?
