While the Flood are OP as Hell, there is, theoretically, one thing that can defeat them.
Some of you may remember my post about How I got Horizon Zero Dawn for Christmas, (I know I'm a literally whomst but still), and I really delved into the Lore of this amazing game.
[spoiler]The story goes in the game that In the mid to late 2060s, a cooperation by the name of Faro Automated Solutions created a line of super advanced Military robots that were made to be OP in every way possible: Damn near Invincible, Incredibly Smart, Advanced Learning abilities, Almost Impossible to hack, an Apex predator of Hacking itself, feeds off of a near limitless fuel source (Biomass), and can replicate itself. Well, as per every science fiction ever, the Robots went rogue and went around, flexing their OPness everywhere they went. Turns out FAS made them TOO OP, and they predicted that their Robots would strip the Earth Bare of all Life and natural resources in 15 months after the initial Outbreak. Humanity realized that rather than the futile attempts to Defeat the Robots, they would just create an AI, hidden from the Faro Swarm, that would repopulate the Earth after Everything dies. It was also tasked with finding the shutdown codes to the Robots, which took 50-60 years after everything died. So this actually worked, with All life on Earth Dying, the AI, named GAIA, shutting down the Faro bots after a while, and re-terraforming the Earth with Humans, animals, and plants.[/spoiler]
Now here is my question: Is the Faro Plague from HZD strong enough to defeat the Flood from Halo?
My Short Answer: Its a pretty even match, as long as they are on the same turf.
My Long Answer: I think that the Faro Plague is just as powerful, if not more or slightly less powerful, than the Flood because They effectively do the same thing, the Faro Swarm is possibly stronger than the Logic Plague, and the Faro Robots can literally just EAT ANY FLOOD FORMS THROWN AT IT. The only way I can see the Plague having a disadvantage is if they were in the middle of a Flood Hive, without Reinforcements, and greatly outnumbered.

If we are talking about the mindless forms that just run around and attack everything then, yes the flood would be in trouble especially since they can't infect machines. But later stages where they have the ability to strategize, speak, and manipulate physics, kind of destroys almost anything. It took destroying their food supply and literally starving then out to beat those forms.

early stages yes maybe, later stages no not a chance, especially if the Flood have a keymind cause then they have access to the Neural Physics of the Precursors (to give an Idea of how powerful neural physics are, the Ark in Halo 3 was the lesser one of two, the Greater Ark was destroyed in minutes by the Flood)

2 RisposteIn the early stages of the flood, sure. But once multiple Graveminds have formed and are roaming around? Not a chance in hell.

9 RisposteNecrons could defeat the flood, and I don't say that lightly I'm fully aware of each sides strengths and weaknesses. The greatest advantage Necrons would have in this conflict is that, unlike most armies of machines matched against the flood, they are not AI and there is nothing organic about them. The canoptek constructs on the other hand are AI, so in theory given time the flood could turn isolated constructs over to their side. I'd go deeper into this but I've got stuff to do

5 RisposteBy the sounds of it, the main front of this battle won’t be physical, but digital. The Flood’s logic plague has done from significant damage from what I heard, turning Forerunner devices against them. I never heard of a Flood being hacked. I have doubts it’s possible. If your bots can hack a mind before the Flood can hack one of them, then chances are your bits could be just what’s needed to destroy the Flood.

6 RisposteI’m gonna say no. Yes, the Faro Plague was indeed powerful, but not as powerful as the Flood. One thing you might not know about the Flood is that they can take machines, too. That simple fact puts the Faro Plague at an inherent disadvantage. Plus, take out Hades and the Plague’s done for. Take out the Gravemind, the Flopd will just make another.

The infested in warframe are big contenders as well.
