Finding the middle ground of Static & Random Rolls

[b] Static rolls or random rolls.[/b] The make or break system of discussion for most players of Destiny. I am pro-random but we need to find a middle ground. Here's my suggestion: [b]A 3rd perk on every weapon, like in D1, but that perk alone is random.[/b] • Bungie wants Guardians to feel more powerful, WE want to feel more powerful. A 3rd perk on weapons would do that alone, making that perk random would be even better. My only concern with this suggestion is how it is accessed. Here's 3 ways to go about this since Masterworks is the alternative Bungie has seemed to lean towards. • 1. Weapons have the 3rd perk outright. Lessening the grind for that godroll but it is still very much there for both the hardcore and casual player. • 2. The 3rd perk is only accessible after making the weapon a Masterwork. Maybe even make capable of being rerolled, though I think that would make it too easy to get that godroll. • 3. The weapon must be a Masterwork AND complete a certain kill count and/or challenges before the 3rd perk can be accessed and rerolled - - Ideally, for both sides, I think the 3rd suggestion is the best way to go about this. It also gives the hardcore player something to chase but isn't too strenuous for the casual player either. Your thoughts?     • They should of just copied the division's perk system for D2, you can select one and re roll as many times as you want.

      • Yes and add a forge type place in the tower where you can spend master work cores and legendary shards as much as you like once you have gotten 50 kills for crucible 1000 kills for pve

          Literally the middle ground they could’ve taken was to remove the absolute garbage perks from the game and maybe put in other good ones. Guerrilla fighter, useless... Remove crap like that and now more better guns are around and less cry babies. I.T was an easy fix they -blam!-ed up like normal.

        • Not bad tbh. I was thinking bring back the perks we loved in Destiny (plus new interesting and fun perks) and make them mods. Make the weapons drop with the mods, mods can be rerolled and are exchangeable using shards, tokens, and glim.....or MW cores. Idk

              To my mind we already have random rolls of a form. People are looking for the best set of perks for, let's say scathlock but I think that might be the wrong way to look at it. What they should be looking for is the best 600 rpm adaptive frame auto rifle with those stats. To my mind this is why there are so many different weapons that appear to be just reskins of each other. They all have the same or very similar stats but have different perks. So this you are not looking for a "god rolled" Islunar but are looking for a certain hand cannon, maybe a Midnight Coo or a Better Devils or whatever.

                  Eh. Doesn't really have the same effect. Remember how exciting it was to see an IB weapon or strike-exclusive gun drop because it might have a god roll? Trying to nail that optimal combination of scopes + idea perks? Or how finding a legendary engram was [i]actually interesting[/i]? That magic is long gone in D2.

                  • Well if they don’t do or at least say what they are going to do about the boring ordinary common loot situation D2 is completely finished. Not many care about pointless activities that give boring common weapons. Still waiting for some kind of response to this problem that has plagued the game from the start.

                  • No, the trick is to have every gun have one permanent perk, making it to where it fits a play style but also adds grinding to get better perks for that gun. Here’s an example: This decent hand cannon has firefly, oh sorry dragonfly and that perk always stays. Now, take that and have different perks with it and... Viola, a gun designed for AOE play style but also random perks

                    • Agreed they should add a third random perk to all guns. At that’s it then you can start hunting the random rolls and random rolled iron banner weapons and gear need to drop at the end of a match again. In other words make it like D1 where if you wanted a god rolled eyesluna you had to farm crucible for it but you could do just as well with a vendor palindrome with a nearly perfect roll.
