So Overwatch won the award for a majority of publications.
I never played it myself.
The common five nominations were
Overwatch
Inside
DOOM
Titanfall 2
Uncharted 4
I’ve played three of those. DOOM, Titanfall 2 and Inside.
Out of those three I’d pick DOOM and I don’t see how Overwatch could be better.
What would you pick and it doesn’t have to be any of the ones I mentioned.

1 RispondiYour list is terrible for last year except for TF2
-
2016 wasn’t a big year of gaming for me.
-
2 RisposteOverwatch deserved it. My guess is Pubg is the next one just cause it was a trend setter like Overwatch.
-
Kirby: Planet Robobot

2 RisposteHow could you completely discount Overwatch even if you've never played it?

Modificato da Chicken in Rice: 11/29/2017 8:43:50 PMTitanfall 2. Interestingly enough, it seems to be one of those games where there's only two types of people: Those who freaking hate it and talk about how it's the worst game ever, or those that think it's absolutely amazing and awesome.

I can understand why Overwatch won. It’s a very well made game and it blended 2 genres very well which is hard to do. The constant updates and addition to the game, which are all free, keep things fresh and fun. And honestly this has been the only multiplayer game in a long time that I’m still playing over a year and a half later regularly. But if I had to choose another game for GOTY, I’d probably choose either U4 or Dishonored 2

3 RisposteI'm content with Overwatch winning. It's a solid, well built, popular game that actually did something for its genre.

2 RisposteOut of those 5, the only one I could argue for would be Titanfall 2. I loved the sp, though I actually didn’t play much of, or care for the mp. Doom I enjoyed, but not enough to call it GOTY. Overwatch I played maybe 20 hours of. It’s a quality game, but rather lacking in terms of content. I expect more from a GOTY contender. Inside...I don’t wanna get anyone too worked up, but I don’t see what’s so special about this game. It’s not even in my top 15 games of 2016. Uncharted 4 is the easy choice, but I found myself growing rather tired of the same old gunplay, set pieces, and bad platforming. This series has run its course as far as I’m concerned, and this was them going to the well one too many times. So what would I choose? That’s a good question. It was a rather weak year honestly. I enjoyed Dishonored 2 and Salt and Sanctuary just as much or more than any of these. Most of you may scoff, but The Division would also be a contender for my personal GOTY, and a strong one at that. But when it comes right down to it, the only choice I can feel good about is Dark Souls III. It’s not my favorite Souls game, but it is the pinnacle of the series from a tech stand point, and is more of the same Souls gameplay that I love. That being said, I could easily name at least 5 games from this year that I would take over any of these. 2017 has been a FAR better year.

Overwatch would be justified if it had more content. At the time it felt so bare and void of options.
-
Last year? Definitely DOOM, my favorite game of last year personally. I've played through it multiple times between the Xbone and PS4 versions and i have a lot of genuine fun doing so. Though i understand completely wgy Overwatch won last year.

1 RispondiDooM. It's my favorite FPS of this decade.
-
Uncharted 4 easily. Overwatch was fun but everyone knows that Overwatch’s praise is from critics primarily who highly rate every Blizzard game. Just look at metacritic and look at the gap between fans and critics. Not to mention that just about every other game nominated had more content than Overwatch The fact that a multiplayer only game with one real mode, and no single player content would even be considered GOTY just adds to the long list of garbage thins to happen in 2016

1 RispondiModificato da Vizard: 11/28/2017 5:28:58 PMUncharted 4. Hell, the game won 2-3 time more GOTY awards and somehow OW gets the tittle!? Dishonored 2 and Titanfall 2 deserve the award too.
