I had to pay for Destiny twice.
Hi Bungie,
I love Destiny. I stopped playing for while due to getting married and having a baby but a friend of mine recently got me back into the game and I can't put it down.
I was however very annoyed when I discovered the only way I would be able to play The Taken King was to but the Digital Download or the physical Legendary Edition. This contained the first two expansions which I had already purchased way at the beginning by buying the Expansion Pass. As you can understand nobody wants to have to pay for anything twice but I had no other option if I wanted to play The Taken King. I think this is a very poor way of doing things and anybody who already had purchased the Expansion Pass should be compensated in some way. I understand this may have been addressed already but like I said I've been away for a while but would like some clarification on this.

Thanks all for responses. Some people instead of just explaining it in a normal manner like most of you did decided to give abuse. A lot of that abuse ungrounded and unwarranted, but hey that the nature of the Internet these days, impotent, frustrated, friendless losers feel powerful hiding behind a computer screen by abusing strangers. It's sad and pathetic really. Like I said I have been away for a while so I'm coming at this as like a new player. I wanted to see if I had missed something. I don't mind paying the money. That's not the issue. I didn't realise that the expansions has been thrown in there. I thought maybe there was a different way of doing it.

1 RispondiNo you didn't . TTK was 40 originally in its own . After a while they just included the expansion and base game as an extra . You are not paying for anything twice.

Paid for XBOX 360 Version/Expansion Pass Paid for PS3 physical copy/expansion pass Paid for Taken King digital collectors edition PS3 because they didn't offer an upgrade for already owners (at the time) Paid for PS4 version/Expansion Pass/Taken King Soooooo, yeah. I've got a bit more room to complain.

1 RispondiI thought that too but you can only purchase the Digital Download which contains both expansions. I already had these so again I'd have been paying for them twice. I explored all my options and buying the physical Legendary Edition was the cheapest way to do it.

The expansion pass only covered year one. The 40 dollar price for the taken king is just for that expansion. The fact that it included all stuff from y1 is just a bonus to get new players interested. Besides, it's required to own it to own ttk as most y1 expansion playable areas are rehashed to be ttk stuff. You wouldn't be able to complete ttk story without the dark below, for example, because a mission takes place in crotas end. You're not paying for anything twice.

The sneaky bastards got away with it months ago at release. We've all had to re-buy Destiny to get the Taken King. Doubt Bungie will reimburse us now :(

The basic Taken King digital edition now includes both year one expansions for free and the Taken King, at the original release price of $40, when it did not include the expansions. But this requires the vanilla Destiny game. That part is not included. If you bought the $40 digital version, you didn't buy anything twice. You bought the expansions last year and then got them again this year for free.

1 RispondiI just purchased the digital download before they released TTK since we already own the previous expansions...Is the digital download not just TTK only? Did they change it to where it's all the expansions?

You didn't buy anything twice, they just added expansions 1&2 to the ttk download for free.........the ttk download would have cost you exactly the same if expansions 1&2 were not included. Makes sense for new players since the first 2 expansions are required to play ttk, so they almost had to add them to the ttk download.
