4 RisposteI think all restaurants are failures. The taco truck in front of the gas station down the street has the best food in my city.

It's not easy to make a game, especially a AAA title. There are many companies that have their publishers breathing down their necks to make changes or ship early, etc. And then there are so many stupid consumers who like to overhype these games. Let us use Battlefront as an example. EA forced Dice to ship early, so they could ride with the Force Awakens. The game was way to overhyped, and since it did not match the ignorant people's expectations then apparently it's bad. Fallout 4 is another great example. Bethesda took their time to make a big open world. But yet again, people rush for hype. Their hype blinded them to the same bland experience that we got for the past two fallout games. So most of the time, it's not the developer's fault. It is the fault of the consumer, or the publisher. Consider that for whatever Dev you want to insult. Look into what happened with the game.

Modificato da Tobito_TheGod: 2/5/2016 11:41:10 PMNo people just overhype every single game for no reason. Then when something unheard of releases everyone is like "blah blah blah, not a big budget game" Palease, when will people learn.

3 RisposteHoly shit undertale fanboyism is getting worse every day here.
-
Their games are usually underwhelming and occasionally failures. Their bank accounts are resounding successes.
-
I'm on the same page nothing looks fun or innovative

1 RispondiIf by fail you mean make hundreds of millions of dollars then yes, they are failures.

7 RisposteModificato da Darwin4414: 2/4/2016 2:53:18 PMIf you're one of those people who judges games by graphics, you're obviously not going to think this game is good. Although, Undertale had something rare in it. Something that we as gamers haven't seen in a long time. It taught us something. Something we should never forget, especially not in the world as it is. Before I get to that, I want to say EVERYTHING you do in Undertale stays with you for the rest of the time you play it. Characters don't loose memories, even when you reset your game. We have AAA games claiming they made "choice based games" when this indie game completely nailed it. Anyway, one of those lessons is obviously that violence isn't the solution to every problem. Before you go below and post about this being a "hipster" game, think about how dark recent games have been. Finally somebody made a game that wasn't about killing everything that is supposedly bad. One of the most important things Undertale shows is that happy endings don't come easily. You have to work for your happy ending, replay the entire game without killing anyone. Once you do, you get a happy ending, everyone is satisfied, and there are no more threats to the world. Except for one. That leads to another thing that makes this game unique. The characters make you feel like a douchebag for having the ability to save and reset the game. The ability to play God. This breaks the 4th wall on so many levels, and hasn't been done on any other games before. Anyway, you appeased the world. Everything is perfect, just like you wanted. Then, what do you do? You reset it. You go on a genocide run, killing off all of the characters you've come to love. WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS.
At the end of your genocide run, you're met with Chara, who was the first human to fall into the underground. A lot of people don't realize this, but Chara is the reason you killed all of you're favorite characters. You even killed Sans, who never did anything but help you before. Why did you do this? To "beat the game." There was something in the game that you didn't do, and your brain won't let you forget about it. That is what Chara symbolizes. The part of your mind that has to "beat the game."
If you go through an entire genocide route and don't feel even the slightest bit guilty, maybe you are as bad as your character is. This really shows how dark and demented modern games are. Undertale is a game that should be an example for all future games. Not the graphics or gameplay, but the sheer effort that was put into its story, characters, and symbolization. In my opinion, it was the best indie game of the year, if not best game in general. Also its OST is a masterpiece. Listen to it.

1 RispondiCan't prove your opinion wrong, but did you try the Witcher 3? I all around thought that was a brilliant game. But I haven't played undertale, so I can't judge.
-
5 RisposteWtf is undertail
-
Considering i never even heard of Undertale until about a week ago i can easily say it's not. And it's all a matter of opinion. My opinion is that you're wrong.
-
It really isn't. More like overrated. As much I hate to say this, CD Projekt Red did a much better job with the Witcher than the devs did with Undertale.
I don't exactly like The Witcher 3.
-
1 RispondiHoly shit, so much edge in one post.
-
6 RisposteIs it really that good? Or is just the latest hipster game? Oh and CD Projekt Red killed it with the Witcher 3. In my opinion, they made the greatest game of all time.
-
8 RisposteAs much as I'd like to play Hipster Simulator: Edgy Edition, I'll pass.
-
You see friend, all of this is subjective. I loved Undertale, but I hate it when people use it as an excuse to bash on other games. I personally believe that games should be judged based on their own merit and how good they are to you. Not based on if they do things better than other games.

Dark souls. 2011. A game with a Highly expansive world, engaging combat (for It's time), doesnt teach you everything from the start, progression in a way that makes you feel connected to your character, the rush of overcoming an obsticle on a seemingly impossible journey, and to top it all off, The game has been shown to help people overcome depression In my opinion, while undertale is certainly a good story, and also unique in terms of playstyle (with choosing to be nice to everbody), I could only do one playthrough (I went back and got true pascifist, not sure if that counts as another playthrough). Other than the feels at the end, I found most of the story forgettable, however very well told. Also in neutral, It closed your game. Multiple times.Broke the fourth wall that had been in tact through the entire game. I REALLY hated that. Destroyed all immersion. I can't exactly prove you wrong, because It's your opinion. However, I can provide a point of view from another angle. Tl;dr: opinions cant be proven wrong, Dark souls is my favorite game of all time, and Undertale wasnt bad.
