So I started using my 1000 yard stare...
I was using an Eirene because it had luck in the chamber (I know, scrubby) and I love that holo-scope, but the LiC nerf caused me to dust off my 1,000 yard stare. GOOD GOD! That aim assist is nuts! I don't even have hidden hand on it and I actually feel a little cheap using it. Anybody else have a similar experience?
*Update* So I started a war over nerfing snipers. I am not calling for a nerf to snipers. Look at my stats. I snipe. Not very good at it but I don't shotgun or any other secondary. So much butthurt. I am merely saying that FOR ME Eirene is much harder to snipe with.

1 RispondiSnipers are just unbalanced, they always have been but this latest expansion has really emphasized what's wrong with them. Special ammo comes too frequently and snipers aim in too quick for a one shot kill scoped weapon that has no sway. Can you imagine playing halo 1 or 2 where a person starts with a sniper every single game and doesn't have to worry about ammo? It's ridiculous, the sniping system they have right now needs some real work but I doubt it will ever happen.

Unless you are new here you should have known exactly what kind of reaction you would get from this post. You also say you don't care what people say but your hostile response to the first comment I saw says otherwise. Easy bait topic, clear contradictions between what you say and then what you do. Also, aim assist has nothing to do with ease of sniping but rather how long the radical stick to an enemy when sweeping across or when an enemy comes across your screen. Ease of sniping is more intrinsic to the guns themselves and is determined by stuff buried in the range stat. Some people prefer less aim assist because they feel the stickiness gets in the way. I'm not sure 1000 yard stare is the easiest to use, but it's the most common since it is the easiest to obtain and it's one of the few that can snipe off the revive (very important for stuff like trials). Snipers of this category always have handled fairly smoothly. Shadow of veils and the defiance of Yasmin have more aim assist but don't handle as smoothly as the her benevolance/1000 yard type snipers. Basically, my point is a lot of people seem to misunderstand what aim assist actually does for snipers and wrongly blame other variables (either intrinsic to specific weapons or game mechanics) on aim assist.

I have the litc eirene and another that I got a while ago with grenadier. I love that sniper and my 1000 yard stare shall remain in the vault.

I can't even feel the aim assist. But I did start sniping on a base of 20 aim assist then I took it down to 10.

I'm in the same boat. I used eirine until LitC nerf. I switch to 1k stare. Its like I don't even need to aim. I just point and click.

Nice, I just got one recently with 'meh' perks. It seems okay, might bump it up past 300 if I can [i]git[/i] [b]güd[/b] at sniping.

The problem with snipers and shot guns is every one can get a semi decent one from a quest.

Yeah, I'm not even that good with a sniper, and I was able to hit continuos headshots with it in crucible. You can say it's not the aim assist, but you would be defending the gun. Don't think it needs to be nerfed though.
