DISCLAIMER: For all those that don't do nuance, this post is not a "goodbye letter" my post is mainly geared at spreading the word that it is possible to get a refund, if I can help a few (which I already have) in that, than my mission here is done. Just because I am not buying the TTK does not mean I hate this game, and yes I want to light a fire underneath Bungie in the hopes that they get their shit together. Hopefully I get enough people to do the same to affect the changes we want...democracy is a bitch, I know. What are those changes? Our feedback forums are riddled with them so take your pick. We can't hope to get everything we want, but we can vote with our wallets in the hopes that someday we can achieve something that comes close.
If instead you are here for some fanboy bashing fun, grab your popcorn and I will direct you to the replies I've given to the luminaries I have listed below:

Enjoy, I will add more as I go along
I bought The Taken King when it first became available, but after realizing Bungie has decided to repeat the same mistakes they made with The Dark Below (confirmed by the latest weekly update) I felt I had made a huge mistake. I was also devastated, because I was under the impression digital goods couldn't be cancelled...suffice it to say, my heart was filled with glee and my wallet restored of 40$ after a quick call to xbox customer support proved otherwise.
To all the fanboys that think this game is flawless and are not at all phased by your efforts being pissed away every 2 months by a bunch of amateurs that can't seem to make up their minds on how to progress with each new DLC...carry on, this post is not for you.
However, to all those, like myself, that are tired of the bullshit...join me. Join me in a merry cheer!
Goodbye Destiny!
Goodbye Destiny!
Again...with feeling!
Goodbye Destiny!
Hello $40!
EDIT #1: I love all the fanboys chiming in to sound me off. Its funny because I actually get more gratification from giving the fanboys grief than I do stomping them at their own shit game...you guys are hilarious, keep it coming.
EDIT #2: To all the rest, thank you for the well wishes. I played the heck out of year 1 and accomplished more than most of the fanboys have and still managed to crawl out of the grinding pit with my dignity (and my 40$) intact.
EDIT #3: Thank you to ThePwnKing. Had a couple folks on the PS asking how they do it on their console, seems easier than having to call Microsoft, here is his post:
***ON PS4, JUST GO TO YOUR WALLET, THEN TRANSACTION HISTORY, CANCEL THE PRE-ORDER***
EDIT #4: There appears to be a better way to cancel on the xbox, apparently through Microsofts online support chat. Credit to DKorny for that.
EDIT #5: To those who have decided to walk away all together and deleted your characters. I get for many the frustration with Bungie's piss poor treatment of the veteran community has reached the boiling point, and I respect your resolve...but might I suggest an alternative? Given Bungie's track record it is probably naive to hope that they would ever get it right. If anything I suggest getting the taken king a few months down the road when its like 5$ at the bottom of some bargain bin, because at the rate that they burn through their content and make it obsolete it should only take 3 months before that happens. I think that is the best way to burn Bungie and assholes like Luke Smith that want us to throw our money at the screen, not to walk away, but merely pass on the hype train and do what the christmas n00bs are doing now, get it all for like 20$. And if you wait until year 3, Destiny 2 will be on the horizon and you can probably get TTK and the next 2 expansions for a few spare coins and some pocket lint, which by then will have reached its proper market value. Not only is this a better way to give Bungie the finger, but it has the added benefit of enraging the fan boys...Consider it.

3 RisposteI'm contemplating with the exotics getting mostly left behind! Is sad because I really thought they were going to make positive changes. They have but always have to -blam!- it up taking two steps back.

2 Risposte

Bungie Weekly Update - 12/04/2014 by DeeJ “The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.”

1 RispondiModificato da Parzival: 8/22/2015 3:27:53 PMThanks for the help... After playing the BO3 beta, I'm gonna cancel my pre order! I wasn't aware how to cancel a digital pre order. Thanks again!

2 RisposteThese I quit Destiny posts are just as bad as the nerf posts, they think that they can sway people to the way they want to think. Good for you, if you quit playing goodbye and good luck

Yep i'm done with Destiny. Some of the comments I read after keeping away for a few weeks mostly have shown little interest for me.

17 RisposteModificato da roman_emp85: 8/21/2015 11:55:47 PMYou're an attention whore. If you hated this game so much you would have left it a long time ago. You've played this game more time than most. The fact that you're still bitching about a game you so dislike but play is childish as hell. Go cry in a corner.
-
10 RisposteWhat'll you do if once Taken King comes out and it gets stellar reviews? Like say a Forbes article comes out after launch and says, "Taken King fixes everything wrong with Destiny! ZOMG HYPE!"?
-
Modificato da Bungolickstaints: 8/22/2015 4:55:31 PMYep. I support this whole thread. I'm done with Destiny until all DLC are either free or super cheap. Destiny isn't worth paying nearly $100 a year to enjoy. So many other great games that aren't pay-to-play.(with better companies behind them)

No cross buy like when it launched just to reel you in,screw bungie and their greed,Greed will kill a game good or not.All I can say is they best hope they get rich ignorant parents or just ignorant rich ppl in general to spend that kind of $$$.Cross buy I might buy taken king dlc but if not, screw bungie and their greed, besides that kind of $$$ to begin with and NO phone support, leave it to Sony to answer your questions when they don't have the answer,Greed Greed Greed!!!

Well written. I agree with you totally.

3 RisposteHow do you cancel on PS4? I got on wallet and transaction history and don't see the cancellation button and tried pressing options button but nothing.

1 RispondiModificato da Noble Palidin: 8/22/2015 1:06:37 AMYou are exactly right the only way we can get anything changed. Is by not throwing our money at the screen . I am going to play dark souls and blood born.

4 RisposteThis I like to see. Someone using their brains and making wise, rational decisions. Someone not bought by marketing targeted at those with an iq of 80. Someone who can clearly see the obvious that the sheep cannot. Let the sheep have their hollow, empty, buggy, laggy, grindfest of a game. They obviously do not appreciate the efforts people have gone to to try improve it for all. They do not appreciate they are trying to get a better deal for all. If this were a football game we would be getting owned by bungie, 70 to nil cause half our team is blocking for bungie and they dont even realise it. If everyone were to wise up and cancel their pre orders bungie would shit themselves and be forced to cave in and finally listen to what we want. Then maybe we would start scoring some points. Heck if even 25% were to do it they would likely shit themselves. However its not likely as sheep will be sheep to the bitter end and bungie will ban any leader who rises up on the forums to speak up about their bs. Im sure you will not regret your decision and find games well worth your time and money. Im finding eso a far more rewarding and enjoyable game experience at the moment. Its not for everyone but it is my kind of game and is a real eye opener as to the amount of content an mmo should have. I get that destiny isnt technically an mmo but it does have mmo elements. It is unfortunate bungie are treating their community so poorly cause underneath it all is a great game with so much potential that just feels kind of empty and lacking any real content depth to sustain a lengthy progression system without a mindless repetitive grind.

I won't buy it till I get a #! $/@&€ Hawkmoon. Blow me Bungie!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Don't worry brother. I respect your choice. I haven't got it either. I'll wait off until a cheaper version is out, which I know will happen. People always going to hate. Respect.
-
You do have a valid point, I've been playing destiny since the beginning and I see nothing wrong with what bungie peeps are doing. I do support your comments in many ways but, some are just to far.

Modificato da MatrixasISeeFit: 8/22/2015 3:07:42 PMTired of the Bullshit Bump for you sir. Well done! Your edit #5 was exactly what I was planning on doing barring stellar reviews for TTK DLC.

2 RisposteBye, have a good time!

2 RisposteWhat game will you be playing next?

2 RisposteModificato da EdAlRiverS: 8/22/2015 3:09:02 AMThe grinding for new gear and leaving the year one obsolete is not a mistake. It's a deliberate move on Bungie' s part to pad out the lack of content. Must of you that buy this will have gone through everything within a day or 2. Now that you get the ability to skip cutscenes all you have left is maybe about 2 hours of gameplay "content" of npcs that keep making noise over the radio while Northbot opens doors and you shoot stuff. The rest is crucible. But at least that's not broken, right? When I saw the first mission of TTK it reminded me a lot of the first of crota mission. 5 minute mission that I completed only 3 times but started a bunch of times ( you know why) and it's a perfect example of what's happening here again. Content with zero replay value that you play over and over to grind. Those new "reinvented" "quests" will be like the exotic guns bounties or something that I hated the most on TDB, that -blam!-ing urn that in the end gave you shit for your effort. Just kill 500 of something, go back to tower. Get your reward that they will make obsolete again for the next DLC and do it all over again but this time backwards. Needless to say, this is tiresome and lazy game design. Also, i am sick and tired of the Cosmodrome. Honestly some of the last times I had to go there I wanted to puke.

11 RisposteModificato da Kadeim: 8/21/2015 6:04:28 PMLetr me just warn you... some of those "fanboys" purposely goat you into using language that can get you banned. So whether you will stay here on the forums, or not, I wanted to put up this notice so that others know. So when you respond, and you realize that they are only a goat, and if they use language that is not befitting, or civil, then just click on their name, and do a report. That way, if anyone will be "ninja'd" they are the ones that will have the "ninja" justice. BTW: I'm with you. Even though I really would like to see, and try the new update, Bungie has lost any further purchases from me just because of their attitude towards those of us that helped them with ideas and financial support. My principals vs their principals, IMO, they have compromised their word to us, but I will not compromise my principals just because they have made changes to the game that "sounds" good.
