Are there any real gamers here instead of strictly FPS players?

i wanted to add a "LOL i'm anti-gun laws" poll option but i actually wanted a serious poll here.
i'd also like to know whether or not you like the FPS community. personally i get sick of it sometimes, it's like most of them either don't play anything else or just feel like bullying around people who don't LIVE for the FPS
although my favorite game ever created is in fact a FPS, it's much more of an adventure platformer with deep story telling (Metroid Prime.) the runner up would have to be Pokemon and other RPGs. [b][/b]

FPS, RPG, Platform (Action/Adventure), Racing (preferably simulation), some Fighters. Almost any genre.

kinda limited nowadays, aside form Nintendo you get third person or first person, unless you change genres like racing then its 50/50

I'll play anything that looks like it has a decent story and/or mechanics that I haven't beaten yet. There are the standard series like assassin's creed and calo but I love new ip's that try to break the mold even if they miss the mark (I'm looking at you The Evil Within)

I'm a sucker for games with amazing sword play (mainly RPG games) which is why I'd have to say that the Souls series has been my favorite series of games as far as gameplay is concerned. But I don't have anything against the FPS or sidescroller genre or any others for that matter. The more games, the better.

How about an "I like a bit of everything" option. I like FPS games, and 3rd person for that matter. I still have a functional NES and enjoy a game of Mario and Techmo Bowl when the occasion arises. I loved the original Devil May Cry (ninja theory are assholes, but that's another story). Assassin's Creed was great as well until III, or 5 depending on how you count. I think I like everything pretty equally. Why does everyone gotta be some kind to hater?

I love platformers and rpgs the most. I would pick the "16 bit" era as the best in history for games.

Your poll is too limited. Almost all of my next gen gaming time has been in fps (bf4) and much of my 360 gaming was in bf3 and other fps games. I personally don't like them that much, and despite years of practice I always find movement cumbersome and at times irritating. Currently there isn't a single great game on ps4, and the ones that are average are all FPS games. That's gonna change here in the next few months. Then I'll be able to really enjoy my favorite type of game; 3rd person RPGs. Destiny is the last fps I buy for a very long time. The genre is bloated and stale as everyone tries to make a cash machine like CoD but continue to fail horribly. Even CoD is starting to collapse under its own weight. Kudos to bungie for trying something that isn't a complete run of the mill derivative of the lucrative CoD games. I had my eye on Evolve but then they inexcusably delayed it to February which is when both bloodborne and The Witcher 3 release, so I'll never play it. Only interested in the monsters anyway. The problem is that the vast majority of fps players, including CoD players is that they're as much 'real gamers' as people who play iTunes games. Aka they're not. I think its fair to say most 'true gamers' enjoy robust games with intricate features and such, while most 'casual fps' players do not wish to invest that kind of time and effort into such things. So devs make more simple game which are easier to start playing right off the bat. In the mad dash to make CoD piles of money countless devs have intentionally or not, followed this ideology of simplification and as a result they wind up with wholly underwhelming products. That's so much tldr. Rant off.

I like FPS games, but generally dislike the FPS community. WoW was my favorite game to play of all time...this is, to a very limited extent, an extremely dumbed down version of WoW converted to a space-age FPS and I couldn't be happier. There's more I could say but I have to head to work.
