It's happening, and now, the fight begins! Marty is suing the Bungie president for not paying him fully, and cutting him off without cause. Who will win in this fight between artist and canvas? Updates will follow!
In the lawsuit, O'Donnell alleges that when he was terminated, he had accrued vacation time, sabbatical time, and paid time off, which Bungie has not paid him. Naming Bungie boss Harold Ryan as a defendant, O'Donnell's lawsuit claims that "Ryan has willfully and intentionally caused Bungie to deprive O'Donnell of accrued but unused vacation time, paid time off, sabbatical time, and other benefits."P

For decades the Marty Army has waited silently in the shadows, watching over the realms of Marty. And now it is time...

Hey Bungie, Go -blam!- yourself ~marty army
-
Kotoku is a worthless source of information. *passes through*

1 RispondiI'm really hoping Bungie reveals any reason(s) why they fired Marty. Not going to lie, I wouldn't want to get hooked on Destiny if Bungie's reputation goes down the shitter.
-
5 RisposteIt begins. I'll be supporting Marty in this debacle. It feels like Bungie is getting that "too big for its boots" attitude.
-
Good. I think this is less about a few days of vacation pay and more about dragging this out into the open so that we can hopefully find out what the -blam!- happened.
-
I don't really know what to think about this.

1 RispondiAs a recently fired employee of a massive corporation I understand how marty feels. If he isn't treated fairly in this case I will likely cancel my pre-order despite how much I was looking forward to the game.

2 RisposteWhether or not he is actually owed anything, it was probably a smart move on his part to sue. Bungie will either have to settle or make internal studio disputes public record.
-
4 RisposteYou know it would be pretty funny to see if 343 will reach out to Marty and hire him. The ultimate irony. :D

17 RisposteModificato da Ktan_Dantaktee: 6/6/2014 11:50:24 PMYES YES YES!!! Never before have I wanted Bungie to suffer so horribly! I hope they lose, and I hope they lose hard. They deserve every negative thing that comes from this. ANYBODY WHO SUPPORTS MARTY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR AVATAR TO HIM RIGHT NOW!
-
2 RisposteAnd given Mart still owns shares and thus dividend damage from the timing will also hurt him more than any "unpaid leave" entitlement ... perhaps this is the prelude to a more serious claim to come. In what world did bungies ego let them think there was no down side to this ?!?
-
4 RisposteDoes anybody else think that Marty might be in the wrong? Just slightly? Bungie did not say anything bad about Marty throughout the whole process, but Marty sued Bungie in revenge. I havew much respect for Marty and admire him for his skills as a composer but I heard that he was asking to be paid too much.
-
1 RispondiI hope he takes them for everything they've got.
-
6 RisposteYou have to love how people get behind Marty when they have no idea why he was fired. I changed my avatar to the Marty avatar when he was fired to show I support him. I will not change it to show I support him suing Bungie, because I have no idea who is in the wrong here, and it could very well be Marty. You guys need to calm down and wait to see if they release the reason he was fired for.

FOR MARTY!!
-
Bungie certainly have the money to give it to him and I don't see why not after the amazing music he composed and he did get fired afterall!
-
I thought about this, and they will probably be forced to tell the reason they fired Marty. Hopefully the word gets out on why it happened

Marty got fired when Activision and Sony take control of Bungie. Microsoft will take Marty in, praise him like a god and then Marty can work on halo again and give the finger to Bungie, Sony and Activision. The company's that will hear the screams and music of the Marty army and run. By the gods they will run
