1. They both if too close deal damage
2. They are both used as a means of survival
3. They both have offensive aspects
Barricades can suspend
Specter if destroyed releases threadlings which can be shot
4. Both have short cooldowns
Some barricades give overshields specter does not

They both if too close deal damage” Ah yes it’s almost like specter explodes in your face and can kill you and barricade is something you have to walk directly into to take dmg from in other words 10x easier to avoid and can’t kill you “3.They both have offensive aspects Barricades can suspend Specter if destroyed releases threadlings which can be shot” Ah yes I have to use a mid aspect for a worse effect then specter isn’t that amazing “4.Both have short cooldowns” Barricades cooldown is near enough twice threaded specters and you can’t get 2 charges like specter Then again never have I seen a barricade pull Aa while someone’s runs away stopping you from getting a kill And when did barricades serve as radar bait again By god are you stupid

2 RisposteI don’t play much in the way of PVP, but I’d say Specter has a wider variety of use-cases than the face-to-face, medium/long-range engagements you seem to be comparing. Here’s a hypothetical situation: Close-Range Engagement from Behind • You round a corner to find yourself behind a Hunter peek-firing a lane in the opposite direction. Having no Special ammo you close in to land an uncharged melee to their backside. Without even turning to look at you they Dodge backwards toward the corridor you just ran down (away from the lane they were peeking), releasing a Threaded Specter that they have paired with Winter’s Shroud (thanks to Prismatic), leaving you Slowed while standing next to a bomb that can potentially draw your AA as they either disengage from the fight or turn to shoot you. • You round a corner to find yourself behind a Titan peek-firing a lane in the opposite direction. Having no Special ammo you close in to land an uncharged melee to their backside. Without even turning to look at you they drop a Barricade (giving you another second or so to try to take them out due to its slow deployment speed) between themselves and the lane they were peeking while also sending out a Suspending projectile headed away from you (Drengr’s Lash unfortunately does not have any strong Barricade-focused Aspects to synergize with, either in Strand or Prismatic, so they’ve instead paired it with an Exotic that neither improves the Barricade deployment speed nor extends any effect of the Barricade to their backside). Assuming they survive the delay in deploying the Barricade they turn to face you and either attempt to run past you, away from their Barricade and the lane they were peeking or walk backward through the Barricade to get cover from you while exposing themselves to fire from the lane they were previously focused on. In these two scenarios I’d say the Hunter clearly has a better chance of turning the engagement in their favor. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
