We need more special weapons in the kinetic/stasis/strand slot
The 1st slot is pretty devoid of special weapons and what we do have often repeats like strand shotguns or stasis fusion rifles. So here is a list of what weapon and elements we need.
Shotgun: kinetic and stasis
Trace rifle: strand and stasis (also kinetic but not likely to happen)
GL: all 3 damage types
Glaves: all 3 damage types
Sniper: strand and kinetic
Fusion: probably the only balanced weapon with 3 stasis and 2 recent strand
Honestly I hope for a stasis shotgun, kinetic gl, and any trace rifle or glave.

4 RisposteHonestly more variety would be nice but Bungie also needs to give us an actual reason to run strand and stasis weapons over kinetic ones because they do 15% less damage at base. On primaries it makes sense but I'm basically never using Hatchling or Headstone on a sniper, for example.

An idea for a 'kinetic' trace rifle would be that it fires like a trace rifle, but it doesn't shoot a laser. It shoots strong soundwaves that can stun enemies when you continueously hit them. It could have a massive magazine like Divinity. It barely deals damage, but it stuns and perhaps even knocks enemies back. And as an extra fun addition, shooting near-dead enemies with it to kill them somehow (or you shoot bodies on the floor) and they go flying.

I'm probably repeating others but as long as kinetic weapons are doing 15% more dmg baseline it will not matter how many strand or stasis special weapons are added they will never see much play outside of chill-clip (and post nerf not much of that either) in PvE. Currently there are several shotguns, fusions, Gl's, and snipers but, I can't think of one that is very useful outside of Riptide, which post chill-clip nerf very few (from my limited experience) people are still using. Most people I've seen have switched over to kinetic shotguns or snipers. Or one of the several very good primary exotics and using a energy special weapon. It would be nice to see legendary options for stasis and strand traces rifles, and glaives. More options that are found outside of raids and dungeon also wouldn't hurt, but it doesn't fix the damage disparity. That's why perks like chill-clip or hatchling need to be strong enough to compete with the raw dmg of kinetic weapons.

Modificato da max: 10/25/2023 6:41:36 AMWe actually need more kinetic special, strands and stasis don't enjoy the 15% kinetic damage buff, yet rarely produce viable synergy with all the precision-based dark class perks, I lost count how many times I received a GR strand/stasis sniper with 4th charm firing line and all I could think about is the fact that this thing is intrinsically one vorpal down from a regular kinetic sniper, or how many ads would be cleared in one shot if the only kinetic wave gl isn't stasis We need more kinetic special as a whole, and IMO most strands/stasis sniper and shotgun need to be converted to kinetic to see real usage
