Good video Joe, but you left out the future of Gambit. Again.

The mode is in literal shambles rn. NO ONE wants to play Gambit in its current state. For starters, a good invasion is the easiest way to win in the mode. An invader could just sit in the back of the map with Xeno, Eyes of Tomorrow, etc. and your enemies are as good as dead. Then just as that same team is ready to bank later, a SECOND invasion could come and potentially wipes the team again. But this isn’t even the worst part. The worst part comes when it’s Primeval phase for one or both teams and the match usually just devolves to whoever could get more invader kills than the other. It’s not fun. Just predictable and boring as hell. The next complaint is the -blam!- Primeval health gating. I can’t tell you how many times that my team was going to win but the boss just pulled out an immune shield out of its -blam!- at a sliver of health. Then while my team tries to kill envoys, the enemy team rips through THEIR Primeval like maniacs and wins the game. Again, it’s not fun. Just frustrating that a team could lose due to things outside of their control. Even when my team were the winners due to the mechanic, I couldn’t help but think like the only way we won that was because of luck and not skill. Finally, how can we forget what you and your editors wrote down for us in the State of the Game article? Besides getting the Dreaming City map back and putting the Shadow Legion and Lucent Hive into Gambit in the Final Shape, you claimed that the team won’t put in new maps, modes, or even try to give Gambit ANY source of attention because people weren’t playing enough of it. I call BS on that because the only reason why people aren’t playing the mode is BECAUSE you guys don’t give it attention IN THE FIRST PLACE. Bungie, I know your team could do so much more for Gambit. Just look at what you did 3 years ago when you introduced the Bottom Dollar hand cannon. EVERYONE flocked to the mode to get their hands on a good roll because you breathed life to the mode itself. You can do the same thing again if you just try. So try.

No he didn't. There isn't one. Glad I could clear that up for ya. EDIT: And just to clear something else up, Gambit got ITS OWN ENTIRE SEASON, had it's own second mode, then had the modes combined, also had reckoning, and people STILL didn't like it

  • I thought that gambit would be better if it had invading removed, and the amount of adds DOUBLED so it was more of a race to see who can slay out more. I personally think invading makes gambit unfun. Unique, for the PVPVE, but still unfun.

  • I actually enjoyed Gambit Prime with armor sets that encouraged playing specific roles with role based perks. It's a shame it got removed. Somewhere the Drifter is crying on the inside.

Sadly, Gambit is a game mode that isn't enjoyed by the community as a whole (as expressed by Bungie). It's been this way for longer than people care to admit. The mode itself has nothing going for it. No amazing armor, weapons, sparrows, ships, shells, shaders and/or emblems are tethered to it. It's just...there. I personally feel that Gambit needs to be removed altogether and introduced back into a season on a rotation akin to Iron Banner. Especially given that players will no longer have to play Gambit for rewards, it doesn't make sense (to me) to keep it in the game.

    • I think the silence holds your answers, Gambit may well be dead for Final Shape. And honestly, knowing Bungie I'm expecting the PvP Map Pack to be all the Gambit maps brought to Crucible. Imagine.....
