you shouldn’t. random rolls are a cancer and so is this community for making them feel like these changes would be the right choice.

  • Random rolls are not cancer, thank you. They aren’t a perfect solution but they’re better than fixed rolls, because it means we get more perks overall.

  • which causes frantic posts of unbalance and people complaining over RNG. it’s going to be the same argument as D1, the forums were littered with people not happy over the “god roll” concept. if anything, the community as a whole should have been patient for Destiny 2 to become what the game was intended to be. but no, nostalgia kicked in and people didn’t want the new visions.

    The angry minority is always more vocal than the satisfied majority. Anyways, I’ve rarely seen the people over on Reddit complain about random rolls, and they are much more plentiful than the measly amount of people here.

  • not even. the youtubers & the twitch streamers were the leaders of this mass crusade against D2 being a massive failure. and then the sheep followed.

    What YouTubers and streamers? Sure, they complained a lot. But what streamer said “Hey, you guys over at Bungie. I want you to make all grenades tickle people, and make supers have a seven minute cooldown, and all abilities have a minute and a half cooldown, and remove random rolls altogether, and slow down gameplay, and double time to kill, and make crucible 4v4, and move all special weapons into the heavy weapon slot. Sounds fun.” They said “fusion grenades are too good, and ability spam is too prominent.” That was a symptom of primaries being unable to compete with grenades, and so the solution would have been to buff primaries (which would have also fixed the special ammo problem). Instead Bungie nerfs primaries, nerfs special ammo, and nerfs abilities. Literally no one asked for all that. Luckily it looks like they’re heading in the right direction again now.

  • D1 was a shit show, D2 was on track to being a better competitive shooter but was never allowed the chance. D1 was awful in the end, D2 has balance and would have been better to play if it had said chance. but because they want to offer these new weapon changes and slot changes in September, it shows how much of a sellout they really are. you don’t start a new vision just to cave in and change course. i stuck playing D1 for the years it was on servers, not playing many other games because i , like many others, don’t play a game like it’s a second job trying to acquire god rolls just to have an advantage. i had one character in D1 , the sequel i have all three and it’s much more obtainable this time around. starting in sept, i doubt it’s going to be like that and that’s something i do not want to participate in or spend money on, for another 3 years.

    I guess we have different views on what we want Destiny to be. You’re right, D2 was actually very balanced, and could be played competitively. And it was also [b]god awfully boring and uninteresting to play.[/b] (for me). I like things like Pocket Infinity. They’re broken, they are insanely powerful, but they have counterplay and they are [i]fun[/i]. A balanced destiny, where everyone is clumping up and using the same weapons is very boring to me. A game where we can find our own weapons and armor with incredible perks that have great synergy, and then go into the crucible to use them, is the game I want to play.
