The issue I see with slow time to kill primaries

I've noticed this many of times. Gunfights should be quick and tactical, but in D2 it's just not the case. I should be able to kill and get the hell out, but I can't in D2. Gunfights are super long and sluggish and it's really annoying when I finally get a kill for my opponents teammate to come and kill me when I'm basically nearly dead after that long gunfight that I just had with his teammate For those who are saying shit about one hit kills, that's irrelevant to my statement above What do you guys think?

  • People complained that One Hit Kills took no skill. Super Abilities took no skill. Grenades took no skill. People complained about time to kill. Bungie extended time to kill. Now people will complain because the lack of one hit kills allows opposing players to retreat and get back into the fight. Of course there will be the usual name calling because people refuse to stand still and die. Bottom line - be careful what you wish for.

    • I like primaries they take gunskill and when people run away people usually kill them and you get an assist

    • It has a very extrem slow charge of skills and super. I must keep them all the time for the boss. That makes me ungry. Grafics are very cool and modern -> I love them very much (that was the only positiv comment of me). I hope a issue for all these "mistakes". Thank you

    • They don't feel that long at all. 4 precision shots from a pulse and I'm on to the next victim. Now I have noticed some inconsistencies with shots landing, I unloaded a full smg clip into a guy and some shots didn't register. Same with side arms they are completly useless right now

      • On the other hand of Destiny 1 I often found myself rarely ever facing an opponent 1 on 1 (usually finding 3+ people together any other time) and when I did find that 1 person kill them someone would just round the corner and finish me off anyways, even if my own health was already half-way recovered. Also, quick and tactical are complete opposites. With quick gameplay you basically shoot, kill, and then move on, no real thought and little skill going into it, and you're just relying more on reflexes. With tactical gameplay you have to use your skill, wits, and plan for the encounters and how to escape them should things get messy as well as how to utilize your abilities and weapons to their fullest. For a good example: With a well placed lightning grenade and a few bursts from a pulse rifle I was able to get a triple kill at B earlier on Endless Vale. Keep mind also, that right now people are going to naturally group together in Control because we are primarily use to standing 2+ in a circle to capture zones and that is still the most effective way to defend them in even Destiny 1, with Clash that will be whole different story.

      • *Halo Bungie Fan Rant Initiating* Alright look at Bungie's other extremely successful franchise, Halo. In PvP it took a while to kill someone, hence why power weapons like the sniper, rockets, spartan laser, and others could be game changers. With that in mind if you were skilled in PvP, one could easily cause mayhem with a BR or a magnum, even the AR on certain maps too. Now looking at what we have seen from D2 im extremely excited that they are going back to a more Halo-ess style of PvP. It was smooth, action packed, a team that worked together would usually dominate except for the occasional Lone wolf perfectionist, and Power weapons felt unstoppable making their spawns key parts of every map. Now going on to the idea of not being able to get a second kill after you win a single gun fight, to me that just means you aren't engaging tactically/smart. In Halo 3 it was key to flank and try to blindside the opposition so that you could take them out with minimal damage to yourself. This is what Destiny should have been from the beginning IMO, with Halo 3 IMO having some of the greatest PvP ever on consoles, using features/influences from it will only make things smoother and well rounded. *Rant Over* I apologize I was unable to contain myself lol

        • I know a lot of people like it because you can "outplay" your opponent, but "outplay" usually turns into "run away until my health recharges."

            • If gunfights are taking to long, you are you using the wrong weapon at the wrong range. All the gunfights I've had are fairly quick.

            • Yea, Bungie wants you to run around in a group and team shoot people so the guns are allllll gonna be weak individually👎🏻

            • The point that escapes you, is that this is not unique to you, every other Guardian must operate under the same regime.

            • It's more focused on team plays and not just lone wolfing it, you still can lone wolf it but it's harder. I personally like this but I hope they introduce Rumble, a 6v6 gamemode, and a solo queue mode for people who don't have people to play with.

            • I just don't see how people didn't already see this problem in D1. There's a passage I've got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. Those who believe in high ttk will get shit combat where almost all gunfights are solely reliant on team shotting, leaving out other creative ways to play the game. Aka play styles. I've been saying that shit for years. And if you've heard it. That meant your ass. Oh, and it looks like Ezekiel 25:17 left out how frusturating clean up kills will get.

            • What you find long and sluggish I find roughly the same, tactical and not as cheap. There isn't ability spam and you can't crutch on it anymore. You can't rely on shotguns or fusions or sidearms or snipers to give you a one hit kill all throughout the game. You actually have to have gunskill and have aim. I'm enjoying it and I get more excited when I'm in a pickle here than when i did in d1. Why? Because I know I won't have one shot sticky nades sticking me from around corners and killing me as I try and reset the gunfight. Bungie is actually putting the shooter into the First Person Shooter part of their game for the pvp scene.

              • I found it a nice change, its stopping all the 1 banging from across the map or slide shotgun. Its making you have to be precise with your shots and cover to get in and out of gunfights at the same time promoting you to work with your team to get the people running off thinking they can get a 4 man team themselves.

                • I like the time-to-kill. It may take most players time to get used to it since it's different fro Destiny 1, but I think it's for the best. Teamwork, good accuracy, and landing headshots are the solution if you find it too hard to kill someone. Now winning a gunfight has more to do with how well you can consistently land your hits instead of being about who starts shooting first.

                • Instead of fighting in a gun battle and dancing towards your target, strafe away from them to cover and tuck behind cover when they die. And/or deploy a rift/mobile cover if their teammates show up. Positioning is just as important to the gunfight as the shooting is.

                • I feel the same way, 8 times out of 10, I couldn't stay alive after I got a kill because you just can't survive another gunfight right after with the slow TTK unless you have a teammate with you

                • He one gun that seems to have a fast ttk is the sub-machine guns. They are killing me rediculously fast (about as fast as machine guns in D1).
