Well in Australia you have a liberal and a labour party OR in simple words a conservative and an ambitious party. One is good because they don't spend and tighten laws, very much pro upper-class and boost the economy. The other is good because there pro "the people" run by unions, they make sure pay is high, holidays are good, but spend too much and run the country into debt. Both keep the country in balance. Trump looks like the ambitious kind, he's going to run the country into debt AND screw the people!?

Trump has historically held a moderate point of view (moderate for America is fairly right wing for much of the world) which is why this is fascinating. We see some parallels to hitler, who many think didn't actually believe in antisemitism, but rather used it as a tool. Trump is using extremism as a tool, not a core belief in my opinion. The economic policy that the republicans generally believe in (trump is no exception as far as this election goes) is that by cutting taxes on the rich they will turn around and create new jobs for American citizens. They also feel that if they cut welfare they will be able to cut taxes even more, thus creating more jobs for those no longer on welfare and therefore they won't need welfare anyway because they can get a job. Feel free to ask me any questions, I'm by no means an economist, but this entire area interest me greatly and I love discussing it
