Just after seeing a few whiney posts about it, figured I'd just lay this out there because its true...its one of the best and most balanced PvP modes in awhile, nothing ever really feels OP, because there's always ways to strike back. Since September I've played crucible daily for hours, its my go to shooter for matches.
The beauty Is every weapon feels pretty good and all have their own spin. You can smash face with ARs, Fusions, scouts, HCs, shotties.... I love how each weapon feels fairly different and allows for plenty of styles. I just recently moved into fusions and scouts and both are becoming favorites. I'll always be an AR/shotty guy but this game is making me playing different styles because of how much variation there can be in weapons.
I jut figured in a sea of complaints I'd toss this out because I wasn't really thinking I'd PvP a lot when destiny was still on its way and I've become hooked to the crucible. Also with the way Halo MCC is a total disaster, its made me appreciate crucible that much more. Bungie shows they are the master of fun PvP.
Who else has found it to be one of the best newer pvps?

I agree, though I don't go on PVP much when I do I usually end up having fun.

3 commentairesModifié par gknight337 : 12/8/2014 3:07:01 AMI agree with OP. I think it's very balanced. Fusion rifles have been pissing me off but I changed my approach by keeping more distance and I win every time. I've won with auto rifles, scout rifles, fusions, shotguns and sniper rifles. If your complaining about pvp balance you just suck period. No supers? Is that what you retards are arguing about. Go play call of duty. I enjoy supers and I'm never bitter about getting blade danced, golden gunned, fist of havoked, or nova bomb. It ads originality and spice to an otherwise dull shooter. Get good scrubs It's supposed to be different than halo, cod, battlefield etc. Stop saying it's not balanced because you're used to playing that shit. I've played them too, and nothing has ever been as enjoyable as destinys crucible

Agreed here man, its fast, great looking, addictive, flows great for going on a rampage, firefights are rarely dull ...kill annimations are satisfying ..excellent effort! some maps could be better and vehicles are lacking co-op elements like turrets etc and no ctf but other than that, its fukin tipp top, anyone (and i mean this from the bottom of my balls) the twats that come on here complaining about fukin shottys being shottys or specials being too special or exotics being too exotic etc and just generally moaning about everything else in the game for the fukin sake of it should be fukin banned with haste...fukin losers!

2 commentairesI feel like the PVP in Destiny is totally overlooked. It is so close to being perfectly balanced with so many variables. It is awesome and I look forward to slaying all of you in the next iron banner run.

1 commentaireIts not balanced, no. But its more fun that way. I've noticed. Finding the right combination of perks and equipment to make YOUR play style powerful and unstoppable is half the joy. And I think the Ppl that complain about balance are waisting their time because of the HUGE variation of gear in this game. You can't balance the millions of possible weapon, armor, & class perk combos I Like cod for its ease of play and perfect balance but this game isn't a cod clone, its a more casual experience... it actually reminds me more of uncharted a little. This is just my 2 cents on why its so fun.

17 commentairesThis has to be a joke. A balanced PvP is Gears of War. Apart from lag, the game is very balanced. No special powers, no easy mode weapons, everyone has the same load out with few variations, all power weapons are pick ups that only 1 person can have and only respawn after all ammo is used. It's strategic, it's competitive, and it's fair. All with still being a very fun and challenging PvP. Destiny is an arena shooter which are notorious for random deaths and chaos. It's basically CoD with supercharges (broad generalization). Over half of the weapons have 1 hit kill abilities with very minimal effort. There's an abundance of heavy and special ammo which just promotes abusing the abilities of specials weapons and rocket spam. (Sniper camping, shotgun slide, fusion rifle is basically a primary). There are several people who don't touch their primary weapons the entire game because of how effective shotguns and fusion rifles are. This game plays itself. You could be going 0-10 and be rewarded with a time based supercharge which is basically instant kills for no effort. Then go pick up heavy ammo and spam some rockets at the red markers you see on your radar and you're guaranteed kills. I rarely die by actually being shot by primaries. I'd say 85% of my deaths are 1 hit kill weapons (rockets, shotguns, fusion rifles) with a mix of nova bomb, fist of havoc, and arc blade. Sometimes golden gun, and the sticky grenades (fusion, magnetic, and flux). The only primary I notice I die by often is Suros Regime. I won't even touch on server issues or the completely random spawn system. (quick example: Twilight Gap - I admittedly lost a 1v1, respawn across the map, take 5 steps forward and die by a rocket because I spawned within 10 meters of an enemy who saw me spawn on his radar) Love this game, but PvP is only good for marks and XP/bounties. PvE - awesome. Repetitive but very fun with minimal issues and flows extremely well. PvP - unbalanced, plagued with lag, no actual spawn system as you'll spawn on enemies flag points for no apparent reason or with an enemy right next to you, abundance of 1 hit kill abilities/weapons, grenades and melee powers regen instead of picked up, basically uncontrolled chaos twitch shooter. TL;DR: the balance in this PvP is nonexistent. Balanced games are Gears of War and Halo, where the most powerful weapons are pick ups only, not on you at all times, and have somewhat sensible spawn points to prevent dying within 2 seconds of your respawn. Waiting for git rekt responses.

Love crucible!
-
Agree 100% and relax people it's ok if u don't like it, just don't ruin it for us.
-
The crucible is good, but I wish combined arms and salvage weren't limited time modes. I like events being limited, but not modes.
-
The crucible is decent imo but there's definitly better. COD 4 has some of the best PvP ever even though cod kinda blows now. Halo 3 and Reach are also better I think. The Last of Us is actually really fun to it's very tactical I like it a lot.

Modifié par Kubriks : 12/8/2014 1:41:35 AMSorry, but no. This is coming from someone who has played competitive FPS for many years on many, many different titles. It is fun, I'll give you that, but in no way does it put people on an even playing field. The best competitive FPS games are either simple (based on skill) or complex (based on learning curve, and then skill). Destiny is more on the lines of CoD where there is just a bunch of stuff going on in every game which is an attempt to keep each game fresh and from going stale. There are WAY too many OHKs that are pretty much given to you (except heavy weapon ammo). CoD can actually be competitive and there are many leagues that run it, but it is generally very modified from it's standard game settings. In Destiny, we won't know because there are no custom game options, but as it is now, it is hardly competitive. There is no even playing field. You can strategize (lightly) in Destiny, but most strategies are shut down with Supers. This makes the game too chaotic. It's almost in line with the idea of Battlefield's multiplayer, but BF makes much better use of the rock, paper, scissors mentality and makes its competitive scene focus on teamwork and strategy. Edit: I realize that competitive play should not be the focus of every PVP system. However, a generally non-competitive game ends up being very frustrating and random. Especially with all of the stuff devs are throwing into their games these days. It seems the main focus is to keep throwing digital candy at your players so they can feel special and like they're somehow progressing. They put more focus into that than they do in clever PVP mechanics, gametypes, and maps these days.

I hail from the days of Unreal tourney & Quake 3, Jedi Knight & Half Life 2/Counterstrike: Source. So like many others among the community, I've got some PvP/FPS experience. First off I like to state as my opinion, that the controls & movement feel very similar to Halo: Reach (my favorite FPS of all time ). Beyond that, it's a game with a punishing learning curve. My KDR isn't really high, but I use a Hand cannon, Sniper Rifle, & Rocket launcher. As you know most of the maps aren't really set up to take advantage of the sniper rifle's range, so I end using my HC almost exclusively. I've used a shotgun, but that was so I could acquire Thorn which so far has been my favorite weapon. & yes I used it in IB 2.0 throughout the nerf. I feel that this is one of the more fun PvP games I've played in years. It's frustrating sometimes, however, every move has a counter move. & Playing solely as a hunter, every kill, EVERY kill, gives me a certain satisfaction I don't think I'd find with a titan or warlock.
-
I am a shotgun and auto rifle fighter myself until I started my Hunter and I switched out to scout rifles and snipers. I still use my level 4 sniper I got early into the same as it hasn't let me down yet. Love getting head shots and I try to be adventurous with my techniques.

4 commentairesI'm right there with you. I come from 13 years of Halo, and which has turned toxic over "equal starts" and weapons/aim/sprint//other controversy. Destiny doesn't worry about any of it. Worried about the type of sight your BR has? Bah, Destiny gives you 3 to choose from! A 1-hit kill Boltshot ruining your day? Destiny gives everyone a 1-hit kill special weapon slot- standard. And then they give you a heavy weapon, standard! Sticky grenades causing controversy at loadout? Whatevs, Destiny lets you switch between 3. The classes, perks, weapons, ammo, and scoring have made Destiny my new most favorite PVP since Halo. And that, friends, is saying a lot!
-
Control is fun. Clash is okay if you are running with a team that doesn't want to die. Skirmish is terrible most of the time. Rumble I have no interest in as I love team games. Iron Banner rocked. So yeah, PvP is good for me, but running TLW makes it a hoot!

13 commentairesMatchmaking constantly pairs skilled players with unskilled players. Primary weapons' Time To Kill is too long for the majority of players to bother, which is why everyone abandons their AR and instead runs around with a shotgun or fusion rifle. The abundance of special ammo ensures that these players don't need to use their Primary and can exclusively use their ridiculously long-range Found Verdict and unparalleled Plan C. Warlock gets a melee that immediately grants a shield for no reason. Titan gets a melee that immediately obliterates anyone in their path for no reason. Warlock gets an additional grenade as a perk when the Titan, who most appropriately fits the Discipline attribute, has to equip an Exotic just to achieve the same effect. Both Titan classes have underwhelming grenades with the exception of the Magnetic Grenade. Hunter's abilities, movement, and Super are unmatched in PVP. Suros Regime reigns supreme as the only Primary weapon worth using because of its Time To Kill, with the exception of Hawkmoon and The Last Word. I could go on, but I think my post illustrates some of the unbalanced features in this broken multiplayer game; and if you think my lack of skill is the foundation for my many complaints, I invite you to check my K/D, so you can see I'm competent.

Halo mcc is going pretty good
-
I think Crucible is similar to LoL. A very fun and balanced type with a few OP's (2-3 SPECIFIC weapons at any time)
-
You nailed it
-
I agree and will say that it's the only PVP that I had to critically think about. With so many options, it's easy for players to conform to one play style (close range/shottys). If you aren't a conformer then you have to been constantly thinking of how to manipulate opponents to your game instead of being lured to theirs.

It poops on cod, a much needed change and it's awesome. Sometimes u run into those groups that are insane old school halo players that go God mode on u, and it's fun trying to find a way to beat those guys. Makes u better players.
