Ok Bungie, I was wondering and I'd imagine others as well, why did you choose the window of time for today's 11/13/2014 maintenance?? I really do not understand why you would pick 8am-12pm(plus a little more you say)pacific time. That may sound reasonable to those who actually live on the west coast, but that translates to 10am-2pm(or longer) Central Time and 11am-3pm(or longer) Eastern. If this affects the U.K. that would be 6pm-10pm(or longer) on a Thursday night!!
Many of your paying customers play Destiny at these times, these are big blocks of time, for hours well into the afternoon. Can you explain any reason why you could not have done maintenance in the very late of night, such as 2am-6am when customer traffic on Destiny would be much lower???? Other MMOs always seem to choose the very late night times such as Warcraft, SWTOR, and Black Ops to name a few. I really, really, hope your reason is not because Bungie headquarters is located in the state of Washington, which also happens to be on Pacific Time and the Bungie Executives decided it was just too inconvenient for themselves and their employees to do the maintenance late at night and better serve their customers, but to just instead come in at their regular 8am, shut down the server for an undetermined amount of time, and have their Destiny customers playing the games of their competitors.
I really hope that is not the reason.

A california based game is ganna operate at a reasonable california time.... no matter when they decided to do it it would inconvenience someone. Its only a coue hours. I hear there is an amazing game called Outside. You should try it out. Its got sunlight and a nice breeze. The devs went all out on that 1!

Everyone was warned. Find something else to do during that time. Like maybe a job..... Or have sexual intercourse with a female?
-
4 hours of downtime to improve the game? It's only 4 hours and it doesn't happen often. Be happy they are putting in time to fix things!
-
No matter what time they chose, it would be inconvenient for some people. They didn't look at your schedule and say, "hey let's -blam!- with this guy and do our maintenance when he wants to play." Get over yourself lol.
-
It is because they are based in PST. Get over it.

U see that's why I think ahead for situations like this. I have movies to watch and other games to play, plus I'm working right now. Let Bungie do their thing to make Destiny better. (Hopefully) Kids these days, You never think ahead.

2 commentairesSome of us actually have jobs where you know, you go away all day to a particular establishment and earn money. That time window is perfect for the working gamer

1 commentaireDoesnt bother me. Cause I'm at work during those hours.

You do realize, that no matter what time they choose, it would always ruin "game time" to someone. You do know the planet is like a sphere right? Given that, it is only logical to do the maintenance when the entire team is there, i.e, regular working hours.

Holy shit! You are a crybaby!

UK time is 4pm to 8pm

Games always seem to cater to America . Saying that last mmo I have a fig about was swg pre cu of course. I still miss that game like 10 years on

You are so very wrong. Lets look at 2AM. Im going to use Central Time because I presume that is your time zone. 2AM Central is 3AM EST 1AM MST 12AM PST 11PM AKST 4AM AST 5AM WGT 8AM UTC 9AM CET 10AM SAST 11AM EAT 12PM MUT 1PM TFT 2PM BTT 3PM ICT 4PM AWST 5PM ACST 6PM AEST 7PM SBT So when you talk about 2AM being a better time, look at everybody else. So now I want you to tell me, when is the best time that affects the least amount of people? When would you do it?

I thought you all hated playing the game.
-
Good god !!!! Go one day without playing!!!!!
-
My problem isn't the shut down for maintenance. My problem is how poorly the servers perform while they are on.

Bungie has always performed maintenance based on the time zone of the workers doing the maintenance.
