Surprised i haven't seen a thread on it, but so far this week in Ukraine shit has hit the fan. Here's a summary of the events
>The Ukraine was working on an economic deal with the EU.
>This would, if everything happened properly, lead to Ukraine joining the EU.
>Deal went cold, Ukrainian government ponders trade deals with Russia
>Ukrainian citizens protest
>Protests continue, EU deal is all but withdrawn by EU
>Ukrainian government passes shitty laws making protests illegal
>Ukrainian government makes deals with Russians for economic/political reasons
>Ukrainians continue to protest
>Police crack down on protests, shotguns, etc. Wounded and reported dead from this
>Mass text in kiev around protest area
>Implications in texts are everyone is already found guilty and will be collected for prison time
>Protests become riot, Many clanks were had
>Tire fire between clankers and police
>Molotovs and fighting stops long enough to put out a fire in an innocent bystanders house
>Ukrainian citizens start throwing the road at the police
>Police have been fairly restrained now that international attention is on it
>Ceasefire for neogtiations
>Battle priests hold the line between police and clankers, no clanks were had.
>Tanks are 30 minutes out (30 hours ago)
>Everyone wants peace but no one can agree to the all the terms, all the time
>There was a truce, someone farted wrong.
>BBC puts up small news post about this on 23rd
>Rabbit of revolution seen on Spilno stream
>US state department suspends Ukraine government visas and writes in support of protesters
>Some cops were fought with, some clankers may have been arrested
>Protesters are now clanking outside the Ukranian international convention center with 200 Berkut in there seige style.
>All in the span of roughly 10-11 days

Militia refuses to fight against civilians. All government buildings are taking over by rebels. All court case documents are taking over and burnt. >No one is allowed in Kiev. Metro is not working. Lots of people dead and injured. The shelves in grocery stores are empty. The main post office in Kiev is taking over by rebels. Trained sniper shooters are killing people. On the corner of Zhitomirskaya and Vladimirskaya where I used to live a reporter was killed. In Troeshchina you cannot see a militia guy in the uniform – they are afraid to be killed. Shit sucks, I'm kind of worried for my grandpa. Ukraine is majorly nogunz[/quote] -From /k/

Call me hippie or whatever but this is turning into a depressing situation. Back in January the Protesters tried not to kill, harm or even humiliate the Berkut/MP's now they're getting beat to death and shunned to the public. Both sides have started to use live rounds and the Protesters are using same aggressive tactics the Berkut used on them back in January. The Clankers just snapped and couldn't take it anymore. What they're doing now isn't Freedom fighting, it isn't peaceful, this is murder and war now but it's they're own conflict and they are the ones who decide what is right. Freedom really is what you do with what is done to you

Holy shit.
