GTA V fans want reviewer fired for 9/10 review
GTA V is undoubtedly one of the biggest games of the current generation, and it's almost here (some already for others). As expected with every AAA game there are going to be reviews. But one particular reviewer is being targeted by upset GTA fans because of how she felt about said game. Despite her feelings about the game, she still gave it an amazing score of 9/10. Which is great! But apparently that wasn't enough for the army of angry fans, and they had started a petition (which has now been removed) to get her fired.

This is ridiculous.
I knew that there are fanboys, but this is much worse than that. When people start getting offended because of an opinion that just slightly differs from their own, things need to start changing. She said that the game was amazing and gave it a 9/10 but the army of butthurt twelve year olds had to come storming the internet and calling for her head. What's wrong with people?

Didn't that game come out yesterday or something? So people that just bought it are still on a hype high and haven't absorbed as much details as, oh, say someone who gets handed these games early and gets paid to give a review. Just sayin'.

Reviews on Gamespot are supposedly supposed to be as objective as possible and a lot of people are pissed because in most of Carolyn's reviews, there is a definite undertone of bias that seems to irritate a huge amount of users. Go look at Carolyn's Gone Home review for an example.

Of course if you look at the comments on GS and YouTube it quickly becomes clear that it's not [i]just[/i] because she only gave it a 9 (which is pretty much the highest score GS gives these days - I certainly can't remember the last game they gave a 10 to, just 9s and 9.5s). It's far more the fact she dared to comment that she felt the game had a misogynist undertone - cue the insecure, intolerant, childish misogynists beating a path to the comments section to hurl abuse at her, and anyone who tries to defend her... Oh well at least I won't be playing with these intolerant bigots...

Why do people feel the need to validate their enjoyment of a game? It smacks of insecurity, and it's just plain sad. I wish the wider gaming community wasn't brought down by these childish people.

If anything, the reviewer from The Escapist should be fired for giving it a 7/10, the only reason why this isn't the highest-rated game of all time (it's tied at 98/100 with GTA IV). What a knob jockey.
