Love to see it! Hope bungie is forced to make destiny 3 by sony. Supposedly its only made 30-40% of its budget back and has lost almost 70% of players from launch. GG bungie maybe learn to listen to your base?

The salt is real wit this post.

4 commentairesMarathon flops so does bungie. That means no d3.

5 commentairesThe end feels nigh. I’m curious to see how they are going to dig themselves out of that one. It does seem like the dev team hit the bullseye, but the game isn’t pulling much players in.
-
Imo, should be considered a failure if you spent time in the game. We can agree, its solid. They just targeted the hardcore, numbers suggest, there's not many left. Complete change of the game identity is the only option

1 commentaireI’d love to see Destiny 3, but I’m not going to root for Marathon to fail for that to happen. There are plenty of video games to choose from. I don’t think it’s wise to pin all your hopes on one game, or one IP. I think that’s why a lot of people on here get irate, instead of just taking a break, or moving onto something else completely.
-
Hard disagree on just everything you said... Not only would D3 being made by the same people who destroyed D2 be a terrible idea but Marathon flopping is just a net negative for the entire gaming community.
-
3 commentairesWhy would Sony force them to make D3 when clearly D2 hasn’t been solid in a long time? If Sony are gonna force them to do anything it’ll be either downsize or close completely.
-
3 commentairesYou do realize that Marathon flopping may cause Sony to shut down Bungie, right? I don’t think they’ll do it, because the name still has value. But it is a risk. So this rooting for games to fail hurts gamers and devs. Not the corporations you’re mad at. The people who did what you didn’t like are long gone. They took their payout and left.

I’d like d3

I’m not a fan of Marathon. Tried it; not for me. That being said, what I disagree with you saying is “being forced” to make Destiny 3. There would inherently be no heart in it. When games become products, as we’re seeing before our very eyes, they lose what makes them special.
-
It is certainly Bungie’s FO moment. I just hope it doesn’t take the game or the franchise with it. Also some people at the company don’t deserve the fate that awaits them.
-
2 commentairesWhat's so baffling is Marathon & Destiny 2 in theory would be a insane 2 hit duo if they were managed correctly. You have a casual & hard-core PVE scene alongside a casual PVP with its own endgame Destiny then the mega hard-core PVP of Marathon if you want something more sweaty and less PVE centered. But no managerial and overall company incompetence has lead both into a downward spiral.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

Modifié par Jet Set Willy : 4/11/2026 12:21:45 PMMarathon needs to repay its $200 million+ budget and cover Bungie’s $100 million+ a year running costs. It’s got absolutely no chance of managing either. Wouldn’t be as critical if they hadn’t mismanaged D2 so badly, but they’ve chosen to put all their eggs in Marathons basket and can reap the ‘rewards’ of doing so.
