Week 1 D1 Sept 2014 player here. I did enjoy this season’s story content and the lightsabers are great fun, but just like last season once I’m through the storyline I’m just not really finding anything to keep me engaged
If I go back even just a couple of years there was a nice weekly routine…Log in on a Tuesday, do the weekly Nightfall, run the weekly Pinnacle exercises, run a few strikes for bounties etc but I’m just past that now, I think
I’ll keep playing moving forward but the situation I find myself in now of not playing for weeks AND NOT MISSING IT isn’t one I could have imagined until relatively recently
If I think of turning points…although the Witness season was really good story and content wise, making The Pale Heart a single player only area, rather than fully open access for all players was a really odd choice as it didn’t incentivise me to go there and I started not playing consistently for the first time. The Portal I just find…confusing…The original UI worked really well, everyone understood it and was familiar with it, so why change? For change sake?
The upside of all of this is that over the last few months I’ve played (and enjoyed) some different games on different systems, read more books and comics, watched more films and series and am just ambivalent to D2 generally
A shame, but here we are. Ultimately, it’s just a video game and there is a lot more to life than just video games (although reading this forum sometimes, you might not think so)

Right with you brother. Tens of thousands of hours across nearly 12 years & these days I spent most of my time watching sport, watching streaming shows, watching YouTube, reading, working out - things I've not done for decades, or ever. I've never physically or mentally felt better, I've never eaten better, or slept better, I do still play daily, usually, but 30 mins rather than 12 hours 😆 they killed the whole thing this year didn't they 😢 I don't hate, I've had a blast, I'm just a little sad, like a relationship has ended.

That last lil bit you typed sums it up. These ppl take gaming way to serious. It is not a hobby to them. Therefore you'll never reach them with rational thought. The crazies keep thinking loot should drop like it does in a looter shooter.. The MMO players expect to grind for their loot. It's been hilariously awful to watch the player base fight over this fact.
